  1. AAAAAHAHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
  2. My eyes picked that one up too... I was wondering if anyone else saw it.
  3. What? No Facebook??

  4. Sorry For your loss Corey.
  5. Remington did/does make a 30-06 Accelerator load. Uses a sabot and a .223 bullet. It was even featured in a CSI Miami episode.
  6. Well Good luck with all of that. I am pretty sure the web of the case is too weak, will not get enough support, and you would trash a gun by firing even a minor 9mm load out of a 380 case. The last time I messed with loading goofy dummy cartridges for fun 9mm in a 40 case or a 40 in a 9mm but the 9mm is a 380 case didn't stay seated. Again a 13,500 PSI difference is enough to get hurt pretty bad.
  7. I guess everyone missed that tidbit about the 13,500 PSI difference in these cartridges??
  8. 380 21,500PSI 9mm 35,000PSI Difference of 13,500PSI That is radically different.
  9. Holy Stage 8 Batman!!!! How many single shot targets can you have in one stage!!!! Too cool!!
  10. Don't forget these are in the creed as well: I will thoroughly familiarize myself with all current regulations, match rules and attendant subjects. I shall strive to never give even the appearance of wrongdoing. Enforcing the rules is not authoritarian behavior. Not enforcing the rules is poor ROing. I won't forget any of them... Well I am a little drunk right now...
  11. This is the part I am seeing over is, "It is my duty to assist all competitors in their attempts to accomplish their goals and not to hinder them by undue harassment and authoritarian behavior." I like this one the most.
  12. Should not have pointed anything out to a shooter. Especially at a level II or higher match. That being said, It's a rule. Until it changes, if it ever does, we go by it. It seems like a dumb rule BUT it is easy enough to understand and obey. Why shouldn't the RO do something to prevent a competitor from inadvertently breaking the rules? Are you Quality Assurance in the USAF?? A Cop? NO! You are an RO! You don't catch people in the act, you prevent the act, enforce the rules, and ensure a fair competition. It would be against the RO creed to not say something!! Sometimes people just have brain farts... Sometimes they stink bad enough that you have to say something.
  13. Most of the 380s get sorted out but there are always a few that weasel their way in. I have never loaded a 380 but a few have gotten primed. Sometimes they pop out of the shell plate and stay in the sizing die. They are easy to remove and don't usually get stuck. I have gotten used to the feel of 380s I find one while loading. I will say that 9mm Makarov loads and shoots without damage to MY GUN although it doesn't cycle properly(stove pipe). I also chamber check everything now. I use the EGW 7 hole design but I almost got the DAA 20 hole. http://www.doublealpha.biz/reloading-gear/measuring-equipment/daa-golden-20-pocket-gauge
  14. The equipment was forward of the hipbone during the course of fir. Put it in the back pocket.
  15. Shawn, It doesn't matter. There is no "gaining advantage" in equipment rules. If DNROI wants to clarify it to be empty mags are ok in pockets in front of the hip bone, by all means, ask. Everything in 5.2.4, Appendix E3, D4, etc. ALL say equipment, "spare magazines", etc. It does not say "ammunition". Sorry, but you run the risk of slippery slope by allowing a reading in of this advantage hoohaw you keep talking about. It does not matter, the equipment is in the wrong place after the buzzer... I will gladly accept and applaud a change for this, but I don't agree with you that just because the mag is empty means it's not part of the equipment - by the reading of the rules. You can warn everyone you want. I keep telling them to stop loading 11 in their charge mag, but every once in a while someone gets banged into open on an unloaded start. I'll play Devil's advocate here for a moment -- granted we don't often see this situation..... Competitor has a gun with a mag safety. Competitor also has an extra mag, differently colored than the ones on his belt, that he carries empty in his front pocket, for the specific purpose of inserting it into the gun to drop the hammer with a trigger pull at the end of the COF. Is that allowed? Is it allowed if it's a tube and basepad -- no follower and spring? No because that is equipment forward of the hipbone.
  16. When enforcing the rule is a bad call then yes. Rules are there to prevent advantage gained through not following them. No advantage was gained by an EMPTY mag in the front pocket. How many times have you let a newb slide for "not" knowing something and then a warning is given to correct the behavior. The behavior is usually not repeated and if it is we correct it by assessing penalties and/or match disqualification. I know what the rule book says even though I don't always have it on me. Yeah I need to keep up with studying it more but I have a regular job that asks a lot of me as well(We saw that when I had to get refunded for the CRO class I couldn't make it to because the USAF decided to keep me a little later than normal. I don't have a great deal of time(or retired lifestyle) to study the rule book as much as I would like but I do know a large portion of the fundamentals. Again... EMPTY mag... As in no ammo in the pocket therefore impossible to shoot therefore impossible to gain advantage from having a mag in the front pocket during a COF. Are we going to start searching competitors pockets after the COF? I am going to start warning everyone I RO in Production and Single Stack. I do not want to be the NAZI RO like the instructor told us about but if I have to in order to keep other ROs from bumping people then I will.
  17. You are right but I refuse to call someone on this rule for an EMPTY mag. I remember when some of this started at our club. I didnt agree with that type of ruling then either. I believe the spirit of this rule is to prevent reloading from in front of the hip bone and has nothing to do with an empty barney mag. I personnaly carry my loading mag in my front pocket until I fully make ready. At the signal I don't equipment forward of the hip bone. There are some people here saying that if I UASC and place the mag in my front pocket I wll get bumped. I also disagree with this.
  18. I also have a White Oak Armament Barrel. I have the 16in one sold by Adco Firearms. I can hit Clay pideons at 300 yards with it.
