I don't know how we Panhandle guys will end up in the mix but you can bet we are going to give it hell!! I have never seen Shane shoot so I am going to have to say that Jay Mackey is going to be leading the pack in A limited and hopefully I won't be far behind. Just wanted to see what the turn out was going to be like at this years match. It has always been a great match but I have noticed that the attendance has dropped over the last couple years.

I here ya but in order to have Sunday Squads I have to have enough shooters to justify it. We are not there yet but we are close. I have your match app and like I said I anticipate there will be enough interest, it has almost always sold out in years past. We did a few things different this year as cost saving measures in order to make the prize table better. It was a gamble but I think it is going to work. I have had countless people tell me their app is on the way, even from our home club, I guees people are recovering from the holidays. Look forward to seeing you there. Are there any Sat. spots open? Who is going? I am trying to decide if I want to make the long Journey from El Norte Tejas. I have never been to this match before but I have read in the past about great stages and tuff shooters. Please give comments about the match.

Obviously you've never seen a Fat Free gun and how much material Benny removes. Rich Why don't you look at my avitar and tell me I have never seen a FAT FREE Gun. Better yet why don't you come over and look in my safe. I believe that the orignal poster was asking about options and I was simply describing what I have on my 6 inch blaster.

6 inch guns Rock! Tri-top the slide with bullet style lighting cuts up front . Also get the bottom portion of the slide cut out where the guide rod goes. You will never shoot anything else once you get it. Good luck.

Don't forget that Dave Sevigny's on that squad, too.... If the match fills.... he may be the only Dave on that squad, though, so... heh heh.... I think I am going down a day early so that I can watch the Friday Super Squad. I have never had the chance to watch Dave S. or E. Bragg.

No kidding, Kimbers "improved extractor" worked so well that they went back to the internal extractor. I talked to a head gunsmith from Kimber and even he said they made a mistake going to the external unit.

I have seen several of the power extractors fail to work. When I started shooting limited-10 one year ago I bought one and I never got it to work right. This gun would not even feed factory ammo and when I got it to feed it would not extract. I never shot a full box of ammo out of the gun. I also had two kimbers that had the external extractors and I never had any luck with them extracting either. I will never own a 1911 that has an external extractor again.

It sounds like you guys have everything under control. It sounds like Chrono murder was at an all time high last year. "Thall shall not kill a chronograph."

You picked the Double Tap Ranch as your first big Match? Oh boy, you are in big trouble because all you will think about after the match is shooting!! You will want to run and Gun all of the time. I shot my first big match at Double Tap last year and for the last 300 odd days all I can think about is going back and going fast!! You will have a blast and not to mention the match staff is great. You will also get a chance to watch some of the best shooters in the Country compete. Good luck and hope to see you there. Joe

limcat works great for the 6 inch blasters!!

I am looking for the ultimate magwell for my 6 inch limited blaster and I am wanting to know if anyone has tried the Mclearn M21 magwell? If not the McLearn which magwell do I buy. My gun is super light and the guys that I shoot with have Dawson and Brazos units on the bottom of their 6 inch blasters. I would love to hear any advice on magwells for limited or open guns. The 5.11 is great for idpa and everyday use but I always figured that if I walked into a bad situation and the bad guy or gal knew what they were doing and saw that I was wearing my 5.11 I would be the first to get a cap in my ass. Everytime I see somebody wearing a 5.11 I know that they packing heat. Good or Bad?

I hate taking my custom sti 2011 and getting my ass handed to me by some one shooting a glock. There is a guy from here in North Texas (Brett Thomas) that loves to take his glock 34 and beat up on 1911's. Not only does he like to beat up on 1911's he also likes to win HOA in every major idpa match he shoots. What ever you pick buy lots of ammo and spend time at the range.

Congrats on first IDPA match and placing so well, you will not having any trouble getting classified with results like that, looks like you will classify as expert(idpa) or somewhere close. When you shoot the classifier just shoot your normal game and see where you come out. Shoot the best you can and use the classifier as a gauge of what to work on.

Great, now I have to go home and waste an hour and half watching the movie again when I could be practicing my reloads. I wonder what it would be like to practice with a cougar tied to my leg. Any GM's out there ever tried this with any success? Anyone ever shot a stage so fast that they felt like they were on fire? HAHA

long/tight shots? OH great, looks like we will have to use that bump on the end of our guns!! I dont think that I used my sights once last year, run and gun kicks butt!!! Even though I dont remember seeing the sights I do remember the big smile on my face after shooting the hellaports!!!
