  1. there is no problem making power factor with a 200, or even a 185, i have found no negative with clays until you go outside the .45 acp
  2. Bigbadaboom sorry but it sounds like you have to many issues other than i.d.p.a. itself, and this is not intended to flame you at all, but each time you write and excuse, and someone gives an answer you counter with another excuse why i.d.p.a. will not work for you yes it really is as simple as changing out the guide rod yes you can shoot your hk in esp, i once went to a match that was so cold there was no cdp shooters in my class and division, i shot my 1911 cdp gun in esp, with full 170 pf loads, and only 8 round mags, yes i could have just as easily made several excuses, but i wanted to shoot more than i wanted to make excuses {btw i still won} 10 round mags in a real life situation, sounds a bit better than carrying a open rig with 26 round mags, and red dot sights in a holster i could not possibly go jogging with, nor is having a shoot out with 9 people while checking out at a atm, but it is part of the game, and we accept it just give it a try, if it still does not work for you don't shoot it, but allow others to enjoy it if they wish
  3. That's the problem...you run things like a dictatorship, and you make critics. People don't like arbitrary. FTDR - Would you really need a 50 ounce gun to handle 125pf loads? Try a lighter gun, I think you'll like it. Hell, I don't like 40+ ouce limited guns when I shoot major pf. My current load makes around 174pf and my gun weighs 36 ouces. But I digress... Bill, listen to your shooters. i was being facetious, you know if there was no weight limit, there would be some gamers trying there luck with a heavier than common sense would allow pistol, i myself have no problem with the current limits, and all of my guns are under anyway
  4. exactly what weight limit if any do any of you propose? if no weight limit, great i will be the one with the 50 oz esp gun
  5. from what i was told they took several popular hand guns, and weighed them, this determined the wight factor, it wasn't a pick of choice, but a pick of averages
  6. to really practice it, forget about draw time, just go from shot to shot regardless how fast you draw, or how you start the first shot, your draw time may vary, then you will get an inaccurate time on the reload, and your progress
  7. why chance an AD, or possible break an extractor, ether way you screwed yourself out of a match, if it is a glock just load a high cap to 11 even a glock slamming down on a live rounds can possible cause a discharged if the primer is just a tad bit exposed
  8. corky my statement was not made against you as a personal attack, as i stated you may sneak up on a guy i was referring to your shooting, you beat me buy 2 points down at your last regional match, for most accurate, if you cannot figure out who i am from that let me know i will pm you, my user name is my user name this forum does not require{that i know of} that you sign in with your real name, this is the Internet remaining anonymous is very common, i am not a major shooter have, and have no reason to promote myself on this forum or any other by using my sir name now in my first statement that was a response to the statement that was posted by revchuck, and you have not questioned it, although i questioned how he meant it, i know what i meant, but was curios if there is something else, if my choice in words offended you i apologise as well let me know if this satisfies your inquiry
  9. so what you guys are saying is that the nationals was a farce, and that it would have been acceptable if each course of fire was designed around your personal practice so when my above statement is spoken by a SO or MD it is false, in fact a cover up for a lousy match, so if at anytime it is spoken at a match the match must be deemed a failure? Sounds to me like the only statement made to cover something up is a complaint about the entire match COF’S, and how it was not designed to suit a few competitors, a statement made to cover up lousy shooting, and sounds like someone needs to widen their practice format just a bit, I wonder how many people that trophied in there class and division has similar complaints If a match was draw and fire one target, made up of 20 stages doing the same, the match would only be boring, but would still be a test of every competitors skills that day, and would be equal for all, while drawing and firing one shot may not be everyone’s “best” skill, not everyone is diversified in practice at every single movement done at a match, and you will most defiantly find someone’s weak point of shooting at a match, so almost any match is damned if you do damned if you don’t I hope you guys at least enjoyed part of the time spent there
  10. as long as every competitor had to do the same thing, i do not understand why anyone would have an issue with the cof's
  11. referring to your shooting, you can sneak up on a guy when the results are in
  12. he/she who pulls the trigger is my friend, i don't care if it is sass your alright in my book, wanna shoot clays go ahead, wanna shoot bench-rest great, what ever gets you to the range, u.s.p.s.a./i.d.p.a. bashing each other kills me as if we do not have enough of a fight with gun control, we have to fight among ourselves
  13. he's a jedi, they can make them disapear, or at least make the so think they disapear
  14. great video, thanks for sharing btw where are your videos?
  15. why would anyone in their right mind show up with a gun that did not meet the criteria for their division? right there deserves a ftdr for stupidity
  16. congratulations, that 4 more seconds seams a mile away sometimes allot of people believe that practicing the classifier is a no-no, but i do believe that it is a great form of practice, however it is true that it does not always mean you can compete at that level, but it is a good way to get better in the long run, most people who i have competed with live for the now, if you can get over this you are on your way in the right direction i have even shot it strong hand only {except for stage 1 string 5}, just for practice
  17. thanks bruce that was the one i was looking for
  18. can anyone provide a link or post the file on the classifier, it is a breakdown of the rule book, but fits on one sheet of paper thanks
  19. what does it take to qualify for side trophy categories? high lady= born that way high senior= live long enough high law enforcement= at most an average of 480 hours of training, at least a security guard or auxiliary police high military=achieved or attempted to protect our country, and way of life we all have learned to take for granted, a volunteered, underapreciated low paying job i can understand not wanting to recognise a veteran, i myself am getting tired of living the easy life, and long for disparity{sarcasm}
  20. i am not a veteran as well, but it appears in this PC world a veteran gets no respect but from other veterans, it is one of the most dangerous jobs ever, but in contrast the most thankless job in our screwed up society i cannot believe this has recieved 70 hits but not one reply, i bet if it was about firefighters it would be different

    Ssp Classifier

i dropped a head shot on the last classifier i shot, still made master though, but the big question is "can i compete as a master", hell no i can't i may be able to shoot with the best of them in practice, but competition nerves will get me every time everyone breaks it down in stages, to do well you must break it down shot to shot, i see way too many people do poorly on a stage overall because they "accepted" that a particular string they would not do well, instead of recognizing their own weakness, and developing it through practice, as stated above "strong hand, weak hand", and moving while shooting, i see allot of people do fair on stage 1, and stage 2, to just throw it down the drain on stage three, first two stages are based on speed, they get this stuck in their heads while on stage three, and i also see people trying to use the non existent "double tap" at 20 yards only to throw every second round into the berm break down all 90 shots, know them well, not 3 sets of 30 rapid shots
  22. wow didn't think it was that serious, i was just trying to help you clarify the difference between a regular fobus, and a roto fobus in case you thought because yours will "rotate" it was a roto holster, if you ever used it in a match it was not a roto holster, i have never seen a club yet that would allow it didn't mean to offend you
  23. flex i really think you are not familiar with the roto holster, it is very different than the one you describe that you have, while it may rotate to some degree the roto holster is only connected to the belt or paddle attachment by one pivot point, it is really hard to describe, but picture two small speakers with the magnets touching each other with a connecting point in the middle allowing them to rotate in a circular motion, this is about the amount of plastic put between the actual holster, and the belt or paddle, i hope i give a good visual
  24. no they do not, the roto holsters i have seen "can be adjusted while on the belt",that is exactly how you adjust them, their paddle holsters cannot, without taking them off, and adjusting the screws, beside they do stick out way to far {roto holsters} i have six different fobus holsters to look at, and give an accurate report https://secure.fobusholster.com/catalog/ind...810421dd96f9d56 you cannot tell by the picture, but they stick out so far it looks stupid regular paddle https://secure.fobusholster.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21
