Very good friend of mine (Air Force Officer) bought 2 nice pocket knives for his boys while on a trip. On his return leg home he dropped the bag with the knives locked inside off at TSA security for x-ray. Got home and inside his locked bag saw a TSA form stating his bag had been inspected. The knives were missing. TSA refused to do anything. How can we trust these folks with our lives when we can't trust them with our stuff?...I know...One bad apple..... HercPilot

Bountyhunter...I've had the same problem you have. Lost everything when I synched the first time, years of music that was only going to be copied onto my ipod. Luckily I had backups. The software and the ipod is not at all user friendly and is not at all like any other software I've used. I smashed the little thing in my vice and mailed it back to them. I will never buy another apple product. Bought a creative labs zen xtra and I've never been happier. Sounds like you've solved your problem so good luck.

The same thing happened to me at work a couple of months ago. Offered to bring in a check on monday. Seller said ok. 2 hours later as I'm heading home friday afternoon seller runs up and says he got a better offer. I asked if we had a deal and he said since I hadn't paid the money it was still up for grabs. New buyer backed out and I pulled my offer. Geeez. Still for sale and I'm gonna offer a 1000 less next month.

I hate it when I pay extra for second day air delivery and the tracking website says "Delivery date slipped due to late truck". I call and find out that even though they "Guarantee" 2nd day delivery it really means absolutely nothing. What truck? Aaaargh!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I have a plan: 1) Do some store visits and look at guns and sights. 2)Find a gunsmith who welds and mills new dovetails. 3)Shoot my gun with the new sights as much as possible. Doesn't sound too bad does it? Will it be tough to find a gunsmith that welds up holes and does this kind of work? Thanks, HercPilot

I want to get something that will work at night. I've looked at all the sights I just don't know how to actually see some for real before I proceed.

About 20 years ago I had a SA 1911 turned into a carry gun by a well known smith. He made it accurate and reliable and it has given me many years of dutiful service. The only thing we differed on was my choice of sights. Since I was the customer he installed sights that he didn't care for. Now 20 years later I'm ready to put a new set of sights on the gun. He isn't still active in gunsmithing. Will any smiths work on guns that were previously modified? Which sights do I choose from the 100's that are now available? How should I proceed? Thanks, PS..The thumb safety was just replaced, the original blended and matched much better.
