I just switched to the EG after using the Alpha-X for years. I was absolutely frustrated with the DAA. For a while i was forced to use a muzzle support bc if the gun doesnt sit perfect or come out perfectly straight, it catches and hangs up so you are trying to fight to get it out. I though maybe it was the balance of the gun but i recently got a different Open gun that was completely different and it was doing the same thing. Not so much during dry fire or practice bc for the most part i was standing straight and erect but during matches where you are in different start positions, it was an issue. Nothing like fighting your gun when the start position is hands on walls and its a retreat off the rip.

Been shooting PD bullets for some time and they always have s#!t shoved inside the HP every so often. Never had it affect accuracy or get stuck inside anything.

Im the opposite. Its usually against my religion to like a plastic striker gun over a metal DA/SA but after the Apex upgrades, added brass backstrap and steel guide rod, i actually like it better. Idk why, i just do. Thing is so smooth

Henning basepads with MBX guts. 24+1 i also have the apex disco and trigger in mine. I did have lighter firing pin springs in but i was getting dead trigger/no reset issues so i went back to stock spring. Also solid brass backstrap and steel guide rod with a lighter recoil spring

What makes it look like a Gans gun? I havnt found and examples that look remotely close

Owner was an older gentleman who is now deceased. Also owned a few old caspian open guns in 38 super so the mount makes total sense in that regard lol

So far the closest ive gotten was an older Akai. I get panel cuts are common but his are the closest. Even Shay said it COULD be one of his but wasnt sure bc the comp throws it off. I dont have the gun in hand, bc it was a deceased persons pistol that i got pictures of.

Need help IDing this pistol. Maybe someone can recognize the slide design. Idk much about it other than being older (owner was also older and owned some OG Caspians in 38 super) and that it has an STI SAS frame. Completely disregard the optic mount and optic lol

I also use green now for my comps. Seems to hold alot better. So far out of both my guns, i only had to remove one of them and yeah, that was a Mfer and a half lol

A one piece definitely would be ideal, just not a lot of options out there. My biggest grip with 2 piece comp/barrel is the comp eventually working loose, especially titanium comps

So a buddy of mine had a local builder we shoot with build an Open gun for him, somewhat of an outlier. The comp is actually built into the barrel itself with popple holes behind it. The thing tracks incredible and is super flat. Same PF and loads as the rest of his Open guns with threaded comps. I almost enjoy shooting it more than my own Open guns lol my question is, why dont we see this more often? Aside from performance, whats the difference from all perspectives? Longevity? Build difficulty? Build cost? Pros and Cons? Heres some pictures. Gun now has a steel grip and less Yellow but same gun otherwise

I strictly use .356. Considering this doesnt seem to be a common issue, it doesn’t make sense to buy a completely different diameter bullet just for this gun.

Im trying to everything in my power to try every load variation as possible including various factory ammo before i send it to CZ. Typically i zero handguns off a rest using a 1” square anywhere from 15-20 yards and if they arent touching the square im not satisfied, even with irons. Ive gotten pretty good at it so i know its not me especially since its been hundreds of rounds of testing AND these loads has satisfactory results out of my P10C and other guns. Lockup doesnt seem to be an issue, nothing seems loose. Ive had 2011’s with lockip issues and there was always a pattern. This has no pattern other than ALL OVER the place. As far as aftermarket barrels, you think its worth a shot trying one vs sending it to CZ?

Yeah man my P10C s#!ts on this gun accuracy wise, idk what the issue is. I love the gun, its smooth as all hell. But i shoot Open so i guess im used to problems haha

Longer slide and different slide cuts, barrel has a decently long throat, barrel ramps are wider, HBI trigger shoe, bigger and wider slide release. Other than that Gold parts

What kind of accuracy have you guys gotten out of this thing and what loads? Ive had this gun for a few months now and im beyond frustrated and ready to give up. I started with irons and switched to a dot but the results are exactly the same: Horrendous accuracy. Ive tried many different grain of bullet, everything from 160’s, 147, 135, 124, 115’s of all types, brands, shaped and sizes. Poly coated, powder coated, JHP, FMJ, CMJ, plated, countless different charges, different powders, different OAL from just below max, medium, short, even various factory ammo of different brand and bullet weights, even carry ammo. Off a rest, perfectly still, i even clamped it down at one point. At 20 yards most of the groupings are damn near 4-5” sometimes 6” and all over the place. Same loads are punching 1” squares off a rest at 20 yards out of a S2, Czechmate, SP-01 etc. I get its a different gun and barrel but damn it likes NOTHING. Best i got was like 3” with Everglades JHP 115’s from a 6” group. Barrel has no leading, no marks or damage. Lockup seems fine i guess. Dot is rock solid. There seems to be no pattern in the POI either. Im usually good at diagnosing issues but im stumped here. I really like this gun and i had alot of success from my first gen P10C with the same loads. and FWIW, other people have tried shooting it and the results are the same. Did i get a lemon? Is there something underlying i should be looking for?

Ive been able to call the shop and have long convos on IG. Any issues ive had he works them out and sends the gun back quick. One of them even had a cracked barrel and he replaced it, the comp and even put a new magwell on, all no charge.

Yup! I love it on my S2 and P-01. Flat triggers are definitely something to get used to in DA, but the reprofile makes it pretty easy

and the part where other builders are openly trashing someone elses work. Totally makes me want to look at them for future builds

It was just a comparison from bare minimum to extreme. Im well aware of whats out there. but my real question, is the gun we are talking s#!t about a gun that was bought out of pocket, or a prototype gun? I cant recall the exact words, but i was under the impression all the guns being used out there by team guys are prototype guns. Final adjustments to be made and perfected before they make their 38sc come spring. but who knows, at $4500 i wanna see more.

No im saying maybe they think such details arent as important to the crowd they are trying to market a $4500 open gun to with a 12 week wait time. Maybe some dude who really wants to get into Open, cant afford a $9000 gold Gucci drug lord gun and just wants something that can run well and doesnt care about perfect aesthetics. $4500 is certainly appealing if thats the case. Imo it certainly would be more comforting knowing it was intentional rather than them actually thinking they did a pristine job and not realizing its complete ass. and there certainly are high end guns out there that have made it out of the shop looking like a total wreck. s#!t happens. I think we need to see multiple samples of these guns before a real verdict comes out

At the end of the day, does the gun run well? Isnt that all that matters in a practical shooting application? As long as the internal corners werent cut and the gun functions as intended, who cares? At the $4500 price range, thats what people are looking for, function. At 8-9k? Absolutely not, i want that s#!t perfect and Gucci.

According to them, they are hand fit so idk
