It's an EXCELLENT powder for 40 S&W in my experience.  I had heard a rumor that they were going to stop importing the Vectan powders, and last time I looked for it in stock, it was out everywhere along with Prima V.  That was when I tried N320, decided that it just wasn't good enough to justify the price difference, and then tried Sport Pistol Powder as something that would hopefully check most of the boxes, be cheaper, and readily available.

For 9mm, I definitely prefer Sport Pistol to Prima V, which isn't to say Prima V is bad.  I'm still testing Sport Pistol with 40 S&W and am liking it, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I definitely prefer it over SV at this point...but then again, I'm not sure about the future availability of SV =/

I like N320...it is much cleaner than most powders.  However, i am hearing they aren't going to be distributing it in my area anymore.  I have heard Sport Pistol works just as well.  Interested to get your feedback on it.

  2. I have used P90x3 (don't laugh)...it is only 30 minutes and quite intense.  They have a nutrition guide as well..It is great for people that don't have 2 hours to spend in a gym...the first month is a bear but well worth it.  The workouts are very diverse and doesn't let the body plateau.

  3. Shot that drill for the first time yesterday ad shot it from 5 yards...i went 28/36....it was humbling...In Stoeger's book it sets a par time of 5 seconds...i was a bit hurried in the beginning until i realized that isn't really that fast from 5 yards.  I enjoyed the drill..will do it more often to warm up.

Dawson lo-pro or no button. and it's only $12-13 I have thin hands and wear a shmedium glove. Learn how to "flip" or rotate the gun consistently and it won't matter much. I HAVE to flip the gun to hit the button so I am used to it. When I first started shooting my 2011 I got the RHT button. It was very nice quality, but I realized after shooting for some time I was sub consciously afraid of hitting it and was cupping my support hand to stay away from it while firing. I only realize it because it started making my hand cramp a little... get the dawson lo-pro.

Already ordered it...should be here this week.

I use the STI paddle that your having problems with. I too had issues initially. I ended up putting in a heavy mag release spring and angled it up a bit.  That mroblems. Was a bit of tweaking to get it right but it was worth it.

It would be ok for me if it wasn't extended...i don't need the button out further i need it angled back.  It actually rubs my left palm when i take my grip...it would be prefect if it sat flush against the mag release and not be extended.

Yeah, it was funny, at last year's section match, there was a guy on my squad who we told not to put a partial mag back into a mag pouch, and he started arguing with us about it until like 3+ different people, me included, all said something to the effect of "seriously, please learn from our mistakes; we've all tanked stages due to making the EXACT mistake we're trying to keep you from making RIGHT NOW."  He eventually listened to reason, but I'm still not sure he really believed us.  :)

Ha...yeah should have just learned from making the mistake...more powerful to learn it on your own

Yep. It happened to me in a classifier and ended up zeroing it. Wasn’t pleased at myself for not getting it corrected sooner. I think the 2.0 has a small detent already.

Yeah i saw that the 2nd generation comes with the detent pre-drilled.  It was  good idea for them to do that.

I would say they are talking about the shaft that goes into the gun. It has to (1) make it through the frame hole and (2) be small enough not to catch up on the barrel link or anything else inside. With some sand paper and a little time it will be perfect. Also, the detent that was mentioned is important.  Some shooters can push it up enough to make it go into slide lock while shooting freestyle and also weak hand.

Indeed...when shooting weak hand it would actuate and lock the slide back...the detent is necessary .

@Almo For 40 reloading a Redding GRX push thru sizing die is almost a pre-requisite. I like using it as I can take a finished cartridge that won't gauge, run it through the GRX and then re-gauge it. Most of the time that one push thru will fix it so it gauges just fine.

really cuts down on the "cull pile".

I had some issues with some cases failing to fit my Hundo and i put them in a container.  Talked to my Buddy the other day and he told me he uses the push thru sizing die as well and it has corrected most of the problems with the failed cases.  I am going to order one.  Great that you can run finished rounds thru them.

Change your shoes. Solomon’s are terrible indoors. If you still need more grip. There used to be these clipboard type things with tear offs we used for basketball. You scuffed the bottom of your shoe on them a few times to get them good and grippy. Then it had tear offs as they wore.

I wear my Solomon's indoors and I have no issues with them at all and they seem to grip really well for me.  They are pretty new and possibly the performance will degrade over time.

Glad to hear that the Decot glasses are working good for you. Mine are working great and I have zero complaints. Like you, I wish I had gotten these years ago. It would have saved me at least $1000 in trying several other brands which were ultimately ineffective. Right now I am using their clear lenses with a +0.75 diopter prescription. I think I will try a couple of different color lenses with the same prescription to give me some options in different lighting conditions.

I wear prescription shooting glasses and was curious as to what makes these better than ones you have used before?  I am always looking for better gear and if these are really good i may give them a shot.

  12. I started in production and shot for a year and a half...Made B...then all my friends switched to Limited, and being the follower I am i followed suit and glad I did...love Limited...classified A at the first match i shot in Limited (classifier match).  Eventually, due to my slowly failing eyes, I will jump to Open...probably next year.
