New to open, still waiting on my gun. What distance do you folks zero your dot? Heard on a podcast that Christian Sailer zero's at 7 yards.

I got bit by the Open bug after my Limited gun went down mid season last year and went back to CO. I haven't experienced any dot issues with my CO setup, but I did just but a second CO setup for when it does happen...Its cheaper to buy two CO setups then one open blaster, but with that being said I have an Open build in the works.
No barrel come with that gun?????

I bought the PT Honcho in 9 major. Should have received it a couple weeks ago but they are running behind a good bit and supposed to get it hopefully by the end of the month. It’s been difficult waiting especially since it’s passed the time I expected it. (Kind of like Christmas came and went and no present ). Worse now that I actually shot a match this past weekend and had a glimpse of the fun in open. I shot a pretty sweet Atlas Chaos with their Cheely grip that was just fantastic. Really hope the Honcho lives up to what what people who shoot it have been saying, so really excited to get it. Shoot a major in Feb so hoping to have some practice time prior to that match.
I ordered a Honcho in 9 major too, right after Christmas. Have heard good things...cant wait.

OP. What Open gun did you go with?

Yes. HS6 & a 115 gr. PD JHP
Have you tried PD 124's? I have a 9 major Honcho on order and i realize, its all personal preference, and if you have tried 124's, what makes you prefer the 115's better? I have heard the lintless system PT uses makes a softer shooting gun and I can't wait to try it out.

Yep. I guarantee they will work great in your Honcho.
Even if they didn't we're (PD) always here to help out with any issues you run into.
I ordered some PD's to try them....i have only heard good things about them.

I like RMR bullets. They have their own in house JHP's as well. Price is comparable to the others.
thanks, will take a look at them.

Ok...I ended up ordering a PT Honcho. I built one from their Race Shop option, not wth the 4 barrels. I am getting it in 9 major. gonna be about 2 months until i get it...starting to think about projectiles to use. I have heard a lot of people using precision delta 124 grain JHP's....what are other people using? i ordered a 100 count from PD (124 JHP), saw Everglades has 125 gr FMJ but not JHP...any sense trying those? I want to load a couple different brands and profiles to see what works best. I am open to suggestions.

Appreciate the info...i will have to check them out.

They hold 3 less than a 170 and 3 more than a 140(23/26/29). I got rid of all my 140's as the 155 reloads are much easier and faster for me. Plus when replacing mag springs in 11 mags, it is easier to order all 170 springs.
Interesting...so you feel reloads are easier with the 155's than 140's? I never heard that...good info to have.Thank you.

New Open shooter...ordered a honcho and waiting for it....Getting ready to order MBX mags, can someone who shoots 9 major enlighten me on the usefulness of the 155mm mags? From what i see they hold 2 rounds less than the 170mm. I have heard they are easier for reloads, but having never tried them i cannot verify. I am thinking of 2-170's and 2 or 3 140's. Do i need 155? Thank you and don't mean to hijack this thread.

That is the beefiest racker I have ever seen! No chance you're gonna miss that on an unloaded start.

I just ordered one as well right before New Years, so this info is helpful..i too was wondering how soon I would get a call. I imagine between the black friday and christmas sales they most likely have a lot of guns to build. Any of you posting here that have already received your guns, how did the process go for you from order to delivery? Sorry to hijack the thread, but curious how they were to deal with.

@JJB05 That makes sense though. If I'm not mistaken most of Atlas' guns are built on Phoenix Trinity frames.
Yes you are correct...however my buddy who has a new Titan and I were at the range yesterday and the PT thumb rest did not fit his Titan...so don't know if specs were different in the frames.

I used the PT insert with my STI while my Titan was being built. Strangely, the PT block fits my STI better than the PT Evo on my Titan?!?! Also, I bought the thigh pad when I ordered my Alpha X but found it created a hot spot for me. But you’ll never know till you try it for yourself.
Interesting...i had some issues with the gun sticking but once i put the thigh pad on the rig it resolved that problem completely.

I will be receiving my Titan in a few days. I am going to us my DAA X holster that I am presently using for my CZ TSO. Would anyone right off hand know what insert block I will need to purchase for the Titan. Also, will I need to do any modifying to the insert block, or will it be a good fit out of the box? Thanks for any info.
You will need to get the PT insert block....i would highly recommend getting the thigh pad as well.

I have big hands and the PT Evo style grip is too small in diameter to fit my hands properly. I am stuck with using the "Classic" PT grip that has the same shape and size of the STI Plastic grip. I also prefer a smooth surface grip with grip tape added because I can put the grip tape exactly where I need it and the rest is smooth so it doesn't cause hot spots when shooting or dry firing a lot. The Grip tape produces great friction as well and can be replaced whenever it needs freshened up. For me that is usually about once a year.
Welcome to the family...look forward to seeing your match videos for the upcoming season. I have the Nemesis. FYI, gun was unloaded and was checking the new trigger.
