  1. Oh yea, I shot a pretty good match for my "D" class and took "2nd D" at the Mississippi Classic and BAM---- 2 months later get my "C" card in the mail with a congradulations letter from USPSA. Atleast give me some "sandbaggin" time Now I have to compete Atleast I know they are watching and thats a good thing. I do know a few "sandbaggers" myself and yes they know who they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I don't know whats up with all the crying over the heat??? Its been 85 and up since February here in the Gunshine state. All we need now is a few hurricanes to make it feel like a normal summer!!!!!!!!!
  3. Ill be at Malabar this saturday so you can take it for a test drive and tell me how to keep that red dot from goin in circles!!!!! This is a 9mm by the way.
  4. These might give you a better angle on the cuts.
  5. Oh the G-lock will be the Limited/Production standby. I figure when I get tired of not finding the dot and laughing at myself, I can always fall back on the Glock to give me something else to laugh at myself with.
  6. I was the lucky recipient of a great deal where a shooter had the gun built by Dan, paid for it and then after all that time didn't want to shoot anymore. So I got a new Bedell, fresh from Dan without a shot down range without the wait. Talk about a sweet machine. I think its gonna be like having Micheal Schumakers F1 car with Barney Fife behind the wheel for a while though. But hey, Its all mine and Im gonna drive it like I stole it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Im using a 12lb recoil spring with tungsten guide rod in my G34. Ive used that setup for the last 6months with not one problem. Im shooting 147gr at a 129/130 powerfactor in Limited minor. Not one problem with the glock running. I won't attempt to go with a stronger spring cause this thing shoots like a cap gun. Soft and flat.
  8. If your gonna put one on---go with the ICE. Lightweight, compact, and gives a great base for you grip, plus the mags slide in like they are on ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Im running the Glockmeister Tungsten Recoil Rod---[GMTGR] I had just a bit of scoring at the forward end--not the cap end--but nothing on the rod body itself. I just used some 600grit on it and it cleaned up nice. I did taper it just a bit so there was a slight bullet shape to it. Im running a 12lb wolfe recoil with slide glide on the rod and NO malfunctions at all. You shot it saturday----pretty smooth huh???
  10. Job well done John and all the gang who put on this awesome match. Yes the "Oven" stage was a hot one, the RO's did a great job of keeping the action goin as fast as humanly possible by scoring on the run. I will definitely return for next years match hopefully with a bus load of the Central Florida guys with me. I will round up as many as possible. My squad did quite well overall (squad #4). I took 2nd "D" which kinda shocked me being the only "minor" guy in limited I think. James Louque--Limited 10 HOA, Cliff Cargil winning the Production "MS State Champion", and Daniel Keith taking the "B" Production. I'll give Cliff a ton of credit, this guy is blazingly fast with a production rig!!!!!!!!! But I think the highlite was the 4, yes, 4 reshoots that James Louque did during the 8 stages and still pulled off a win!!!!!!!!!! I would certainly recommend pencilling this one on to your calender next year.
  11. Yes, Stage 10 was quite tough with the bobbers. I can't recall what hits I got but I think one was good and the other not so good. I totally amazed my self on the "Jack in the box" stage. I got all my hits, even on the drop turn and in a amazing 7.43seconds. And yes that did blow me away when I seen I did get the hits and a decent time too.
  12. Got the Dawson Ice magwell installed and wow. Perfect fit and makes my grip feel much better due to it providing a great base. Kinda tricky at first till I figured out that the plastic insert has to be removed first. No instructions provided with it, but I did enlist the help of this forum and what do ya know---success.
  13. Don't you just hate running a stage wide open, not breathing till its over. Then once the air is back in your lungs, gun holstered, and your brain spooling down, you and the RO go check hits. You know you had some great hits cause you feel like a million bucks cause that front sight or dot was 100% on the "A" zone. Then the first target is "AA" then about halfway thru it goes to hell with the "delta" or worse yet the damned "mike"??? But you know you put the "A" hits on there.
  14. For my first major match that was a blast. I do have one recommendation----can we Please get more stages like "Jack in the box"--stage 11 and 12 also??? That was just a kick in the pants!!!! I actually got all my hits on all the targets in a decent time for a "Unclassified" guy. Yes, Im looking at my best stage which is the positive stage. After "3" runs down the Cooper tunnel for lucky reshoots due to holes not pasted and then pasted shots before being scored I think I got it right. All RO's were great. Thanks guys and gals. Guess I'll head up Mississippi for that match too. Hopefully they got some ideas from this one. Thanks for a great match Derek and all the helpers.
  15. I figured it out on my own
  16. Ive been shooting Atlanta Arms 147gr. Its really light and is very dependable so far. Ive burned up about 1000rnd of 147 and 115--no duds at all. Its remanufactured but it works and its cheap---$110 + 15shipping per 1000rnds for the 115gr and $135 +15shipping for the 147grn. If you buy over $500 shipping is free too. For production class its a good deal in my opinion.
  17. Yes, Thats what I thought. It kinda blew my mind that my new gun had shelled on me but then it just pushed back into place. Thanks for answering my question and its off to Brownell's we go.
  18. Ok, lets not get too technical here and excuse my use of possibly the wrong reference words to what Im describing but here goes. I just got a X2 for 3 gun. It came with a "Briley Charge Handle or bolt handle. I was in the middle of clearing the gun after a stage and the handle comes off in my hand. It didnt look broken at all but Im curious what actually hold this part in place. It looks like there is a notch cut in it for a ball bearing like in a wratchet. Does the handle just push in and stay or what? Hopefully you guys have some dealings with this or a like problem. Any info would be great and especially if my gun isnt hurt cause of this. Thanks
  19. Im new to the 3gun scene and just shot my first match this weekend with a friends guns. What a blast. I was turned on to the 1100 Competition Master and the Winchester X2. Both look to be exactly what Im looking for but not sure of the BEST price to pay. Please give me some input on what the going rate is for both or what your advice would be for pricing either. Thanks
