  1. Those slide pins did not work, they are very short compared to the one that came on the gun Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  2. I do have that, and didn't even think if using it. Thanks@George16 &@Yigal Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  3. You are correct. I would file the slide release instead though. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Only 1 of the 2 additional thumbrest requires a bit of trimming in order to fit. The one pictured below. Slide works fine. The slide release contacts it not allowing the screw closest to grip. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  5. You are correct, but the angles do play a major role. For example, the flatter thumbrest actually makes me rest my support hand further forward. And the angled seems like it would suit someone with shorter/smaller hands. The angled thumbrest with wider pad though is extremely comfortable to hold and one of the best options. My photos from last night and initial assessment was rushed a little bit, but I'm going to work on them throughout the day and see about fitting the angled thumbrest with slide. I'm not certain which I want to modify yet. The material on the slide seems to be easiest to work on and a greater chance of hiding imperfections. I also believe it is cheaper and easier to acquire if I screw up. I also planned to modify it like the Canik so I can remove it without having to use a mag to release it. 6. Does it place the thumbrest in the same location? I have large hands and needed something that goes just a smidge further back. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  7. CZ thumbrest I just got some factory thumbrest and the other 2 options are wider than factory and in my opinion the width that factory should've come in. The best one for my set up is the angled, but if you can tell in the photo interferes with the slide stop. Doesn't look too horrible to modify. The flatter thumbrest forces me to use my support hand too far forward. I don't feel like my support hand is making enough contact with the Lok grips at that point. There's a third thumbrest, and although it would work, it is awfully small and makes me believe it wasn't meant for the TSO. I do believe I saw it was listed for the TSO, but I could've been mistaken. Edit: they all interfere with my natural grip. CZC oversized safety is rubbing against the base of my thumb. Pictured (hopefully I have the order right): factory, slanted, flat, small and the slant hitting slide. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  8. After my first match I took the muzzle support off, it kept spinning on me. I should've applied locktite but my next match I found myself not needing it so much. I will try it again next match Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  9. I was concerned about the 2nd detent ball underneath while still trying to keep the top flush. But I was eyeing it instead of taking measurements which I should do Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  10. Break down the mag and post pics of what you have. But I do think it's the spring and followed if you don't have a Grams spring already installed. Slow down on modifications, shoot the gun stock for a few hundred rounds. As you can see everything effects the gun. You do one thing and you need something else. Just function check the gun stock and make sure it works the way it's supposed to, add what you need when you discover it and don't predict you're going to need X mod. 11. I purchased a zig racker as well for my TSO and I was thinking about installing it over the off season. Do you think there's enough real estate to have the racker installed like pictures above, where it stops short of coming through the other side? Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  12. I would get the RHT holster and boss holster. But I'm bias Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Most military and law enforcement are slow purposely. That's just training. It just doesn't make sense to me that your score differently in the same division. But it also doesn't make sense to me to limit round count in "competition" because of laws. There's an exemption for carrying if going to the range or gunsmith, there should be one for competition (or get rid of the stupid law). Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  14. Even though I know this topic took a turn I thought I chime in as a police officer (NYPD). Shooting production (with service weapon) for the most part is out of the question. Some departments require specific ammo and while you could get away with shooting whatever you want if something goes wrong it's not worth the trouble. Our loads are too hot for production to be competitive, out trigger pulls are usually double digits and technically not allowed to modify your service weapon (not even to change the grips). I'm new to the sport and have only shot 2 matches. Because of the above and other factors I decided I'll get a dedicated comp gun and I want to have fun (while be as competitive as possible). I chose to shoot limited minor and competitive went out the window with practical. All my handguns are 9mm and I like it that way. Of course I know I'm at a handicap with points and the fact I'm in NY having to shoot 10 rounds. Honestly a better fit for me would be production and I think production should still to 9mm minor. I also feel that since the majority of limited is major, minimum should be 40 major for that division. I don't see why that can't be a compromise so the form factor is: production/carry optics 9mm minor and limited/open 40 major. Have a revolver class and I 1911 single stack 45 class. 15. I'm surprised to hear this much modification. I'm showing wear on the trigger guard but it engages and releases with ease. I also tend to rock the gun forward, that's just a force of habit from work. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  16. When you blended the magwell, did you strip the gun of all its components? Sear, hammer, etc? Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

    TSO questions

Why does it need to be higher? I have one and while I understand the need to have your hands placed high on the grip, I find where my thumb lands on the safety it's perfect at that height. I think if it was higher it would be difficult to engage the safety the way it was meant (rocking instead of lifting) Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

    TSO questions

A great alternative is the CZC safety. I absolutely love mine and I wish I could find thumbrest with that kind of shelf (man, I'm sounding like a broken record with this thumbrest) Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  19. That's pretty much what I want to go with, but fit in factory location without an optic mount. I do have the mount and the CZ options are on there way. I expect them by weeks end Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  20. Options are good. I do really like these coated bullets from Federal and I guess that's why I'm sharing the info. I've never had a barrel so clean after shooting these TSJs Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  21. I didn't get my thumbrest kn from CZ yet if that's what you're asking? Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  22. The federal ammo comes in at $110 for a box of 500 depending on where you get it. And the box is the "official" round for USPSA. So you cant really beat that. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  23. Brownells has them in stock now, but I usually order from Outdoor Limited (best price I've seen). I'm currently sitting on 2000 rounds; I buy them when I see its available Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  24. I didn't receive the screws yet, they may have been delivered but I've been out of the office. I ordered the other factory options they had, it was like 3 other factory options. About $45 a piece and I felt like experimenting. I will make sure to post them in this thread Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  25. DAA I'd saying the Tan and C More are the same hole patterns so that might work. When my factory thumbrest options come in from CZ I will make the decision to pursue it. I'm hoping the new CZ thumbrest does the trick Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
