  1. I have both.. and I have small hands. It's hard to say which one works better for anyone until you pick them up.

On paper, the S2 is slightly bigger, and I would agree that the grip of the S1 feels smaller (Hennings on both).  But I like the way I grip the S2 better... the shape feels better and I tend to try to regrip it less.

Of course... I shoot the S1 bettter, so the only true answer is to shoot them both and figure out which one suits you the best

  2. Why not buy another Pelican Case with Pick/Pluck foam?  Or you can get custom cut inserts, but that never seemed like it was worth the cost to me.

Can you upload a picture of your current pelican case?

I'm also assuming your sig case is just the standard flimsy plastic case the new guns come with?

    These are great for pistols

My favorite long gun cases are Boyt

Word of warning for storing long term in a plastic air tight case though... I don't because of moisture issues.

  3. The type of gun matters as much in CO as it does in other divisions... and by that I mean, whichever you shoot and handle the best.

Like mentioned above, you probably see poly/striker the most because they have ready to go CO guns straight from the factory at a cheap price point... and also milling the slides on one you already own is "easier".  I say "easier" because those slides are more of a commodity and can easily be replaced if you didn't like CO.  Where CZ slides are more expensive and then your S/N don't match if you replace it.

You may even find that a G17 works better than a G34 since you don't need the sight radius.  Again, that comes down to personal preference and practice.

So I am just delving into carry optics, and I wanted to read this thread to see what was relevant, but I ended up more confused. Everyone keeps saying that the shadow 2 isn't CO legal because of the 45oz weight limit, yet the rule book states 59oz weight limit? So is the shadow 2 good to go in CO?

Tell those people to go read the updated rules

  5. Yup... I’ve had that same frustration. Email or call them and ask.  I had a similar issue... 50 cent part and they wanted $8 shipping.. I called and asked if they could drop it in an envelope and I’d pay a couple of bucks for the 55cent postage.  They agreed and took care of me.

  6. I've run both the Venom and the FF3... I just had a FF3 get intermittent on me, so I sent it back and it's in the process of warranty replacement.

None of my Venoms have had an issue so far.

I think they're both about equal.  Find whichever you get a better deal on.

Can you tell me more about these belts?

I have a DAA rig that is just to stiff for my liking.  I only shoot IDPA and ICOR and I feel that a very stiff belt is not necessary for the little weight that it has to carry.

So, I'm looking for something not so stiff.

A friend of mine got one off of ebay a while ago, I seem to remember that it didn't have velcro all the way around it, which didn't seem like it would work to well, in my opinion.
