  1. I guess I really need to take a calm my ass down pill in the future then. When I drive 1.5 hours + one way to get to a level I USPSA match I expect it to follow the rule book and have legal stages. When I decide to go to a non USPSA match I make that decision knowing the rules could be spotty at best. I was at a level I match once that required me to have 5 mags to finish the stage, I just happened to be shooting limited minor and only had 3 with me. I should never be required to need that many mags shooting limited and be told if I don't like it then don't shoot it. I run a local match and spend every night the week leading up to the match designing stages that are legal, so it really gets my blood presure up when another MD will not take the steps to fix the problem. Seeing everybody's comments makes me think I should just be quiet and let it go. Being the rule follower I am, that is going to take some work so bear with me(that's for the locals that might read this).

  2. I have a R&R S-12 and the ONLY jams I have had were caused by 1 mag. It will not feed the third round from that mag ever. When I remember to leave that mag at home it runs and runs and runs. I have gotten to where I don't like iron sights or loading a shotgun 1 shell at a time. Oh yeah, outlaw matches rule!!!! Nothing like having a 20 round mag and not being able to use it. :angry2:

  3. Cool, a couple of those were on my short list to try. Manny Bragg has a new comp that I was able to shoot a week or so ago that I really liked. I put an aluminum GR in that gun, but it is still an anchor. It is flat, but heavy.

  4. So, if you were wanting to test several comps on a new gun, what would your top 5 choices be to test? I'd like to test 3 or 4 out on a new build I am doing, but I don't want to try some that are marginal at best. I like the EGW 9 major comp, but it is wicked nose heavy. I was looking at a buddies Brazo's SX Saturday and love the way it feels. So I guess I am looking for some of the lighter ideas out there.

  5. LOL, I always go back a double check this load since it does seem kind of high. I have a 5 inch storm lake and a 5 inch KKM barrel with no holes and get a nice 175 power factor. I can run 1500 plus rounds with out any problems with dirt. I only clean it because I feel like I have to every 3-4 months.

  6. Dude you need to be more specific about anything going on. Depending on where you are, there are matches every Sat/Sun every month in the area. If you mean major matches, then no probably not. Just off the top of my head:

    Space Coast

    USPSA first Sat

    Steel Second SUN

    Orlando (central Florida)

    USPSA 4th sat

    Port Malabar

    USPSA 2nd Sat

    3 gun third Sat

    Steel 3rd Sun

    IDPA 4th SUN

There are a ton of other things to. Just type in FL in the USPSA club finder and go to their web sites and view the event calendars.

  7. I agree with the others. It is the softest powder I have used. I use 9.3 grains with a MG 115jhp loaded out to 1.180 OAL. This is in a 5 inch gun with no holes. At this PF it really is not that dirty.

  8. While you haven't given us much to go on, I will tell you what I did when I had this situation in a different sport.

Write a letter of recommendation. The letter is not really for anyone at this point, just a vehicle to get your thoughts organized. What is your recommendation? Banning from the match, the club, the sport? Why are you making this recommendation? Is the reason personal, safety, ethics, etc? Cite specific instances and witness that can be contacted. Cite the specific rules from the Club or USPSA that cover this. Can the issue be resolved? Has an attempt at remdiation been made?

Once you have your thoughts together, does proceeding make sense? Sometimes we get caught in the heat of the moment. If it does, start listing who needs to become involved. This could be the Match Director, the Club Board, the Section Corrdinator. However, don't involve people who don't need to be involved. Your goal here is to resolve a problem, not hurt feelings more than needed.

Now that you have a written plan, start actioning it. Rewrite the letter into a more formal document and start it forward up the authority chain.

Sometimes the shooters action are such that no resolution is possible or the resolution is something that the shooter must do for themselves (AA, Anger Management, etc).

Hope this helped in what is always an uncomfortable situation.

Thanks for all the replies. This one might hit right where I should look. I might be making it personal, but when the shooter makes the two people that make the matches happen want to hang out a closed sign and drive to another match something just might need to be done. I guess it never helps when BOTH parties might need some anger management sessions

  9. You never know how your caspian will come out from the factory. I ordered a frame during the last sale and had a 9mm slide laying around. I went last night to get an idea of how much time I was going to spend fitting the slide to the frame and they are already an almost perfect fit. All I have to do is lap it in now.

  10. I don't use this service but, while you wait to get your roll sizer, I have heard that you can send your brass to Kenny at Speed Shooters Specialties ( http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/ ) and he will roll size your brass for one cent per piece.

    Thanks for the reply CY

I think I'll chamber check each piece until whatever sizer I get arrives. I think sending the brass that I have away to have it done is pretty cost prohibitive.

If shipping your brass is cost prohibitive, Kenny also sells roll sized 9mm, 40 s&w and sometimes other cal. already roll sized for less than most online places have un roll sized brass.
