I am hoping to order an Sp01 variant tonight and have been reading forums and posts from all areas of the internet and cant seem to find good data that is non-conflicting. I feel like i am leaning towards the tactical variety for the decocker, i should note this gun will be used mainly for IDPA/USPSA and steel shooting. I have seen that the decocker can be made to shoot as well as a safety variant by a few of the gun mod gods (angus, CGW, CZC) to have just as good trigger. The reason im leaning towards a tactical is because i have no prior use/history with DA/SA guns and manually decocking a gun and it seems it would be easiest during the load and make ready portion to just load the gun and decock then holster without worry about an ND. So before i order what is the general consensus here on saftey vs decocker? TLDR; Can i achieve the same feel or 95% of the feel of a saftey gun with a decocker for IDPA/USPSA shooting.

I'll do that and see what the consensus is. I will have my optic dovetail mount in tommorow. So it's time to test it out and see if it will end up being a permanent thing!

I loooed at their pricing and $125 is misleading bc they media blast your slide and you have to get it cerakoated. Are they not able to cut the rmr slot without needing to get a cerakote? True price is double at 250$ all said and done.

4 weeks to have both done or 8 weeks to have both done combined.

I'm just not excited about loosing a gun for months as I wait for the work to get done.

Who did your slide and grip work?

Looking for options to mount my new RMR 06 via dovetail mount. I want to get the slide milled eventually if the optic is something I really enjoy shooting with. So for he meantime what dovetail mounts do you guys have experience with? Sounds interesting. I haven't seen the glock variant you speak of. How does it reset the trigger without slide movement?

I guess the rules make no sense to me at times. I mean look at the sig p320 X5. Basically a crazy built gun from the factory with the intent to only be used as a competition gun and it's legal in production. Yet it's got a milled slide for less weight and a flat faced trigger. Seems like son it won't matter and other production guns will be phased out and it will become an inevitable equipment race. A gun like that is hard to compete against when it's sole purpose is to be a comp gun and most other production class guns are duty/carry guns.

Thanks. Where do you usually pick up your spare parts, brownells?

Looking for advice on what spare/replacement parts to stock up on. I've read some threads and people seem to stock up on common parts that are prone to failure or need maintenance/ replacing at certain intervals. So for those of you with high mileage m&p 9s, clue me in on what to stock up on to make sure I have parts for years to come for this gun. Thanks!

Update: ran 2 matches with the cut down base plates and new magwell. Ran flawless and didn't have any issues.

What is the stock slide spring weight? Also will reducing the slide spring weight become an issue with cycling the slide, i.e. The gun beating itself to death with regular pressure or hotter loads?

What's the deal on limiting factory ported guns in production? Is the advantage of a factory ported barrel that significant?

Interested to hear how this turns out, seems to be a ton of hype about these guns. Hope you get it working to your like in with your loads.
