A 5" svi 2011.

Considering switching to LTD MAJOR, and looking for the softest ,most accurate manufactured .40 ammo-
Don't have time to reload.
What are my options?
-
Anything less then 1.5, inmho,May ran the risk of hammer freeze......have seen it happen in the middle of matches....
-
Attended his class this last weekend , as part of the svi experience. bill is a great shooter and a gifted instructor. if you a chance to attend his class, do so.
highly recommended.

Thank you guys for your valuable feedback..... it seems we have a split field though, of yehs and nays.....
o put differently, what are the advantages/disadvantages of short stoking? doesn't cut down the reliability factor of the cycling of the pistol?

Wonderi if any other svi/ sti/ 2011s shooters use shockbuffs, and if not ,why?
-
Defenitely not the sti I’m used to from 4-5 years ago. A lot has happened since then and their quality and fit and finished have deteriorated a lot. Hopefully the new mgt gets sti back on track.....

I purchased several new svi tubes for 9mm,their 13 coils spring and followers. I opted to use the Taran Tactical base plate(4mm),
and when loaded 22 rounds , I get double feeds, stove pipes and other maladies.....what am doing wrong ,and how to fix it?

I’m kinda in the same boat... B level shooting ltd minor..... don’t want to spray and prey yet... lol.... still learning to improve.....
dry fire 3-4 times a week , local indoor matches once a week.... still making stupid mental errors.... qou Vadis from here?

I have 2 akai sand they are truly works of art- accurate and reliable. ~ 20 k thru one of them without an issue.

Got a 1000 rounds to try them out..... much prefer the win wb 147 gr flat nose fmj....
-
Thank you guys.

Heard nothing but raving feedbacks from friends who went.... on my bucket list.
-
.... but agree with the above poster. That a slide lock reload is slower then reloading the mag while the pistol is still in battery.
-
It takes me between 2.3-2.6 seconds to reload a new mag to first shot using the front serrations method with my right hand....
-
Has anyone compared the 2? What are the pluses and minuses to both? Any other alternatives I should consider?
-
Forgive the elementary question ,but does it make any sense to use the alpha X with a limited ?
and if not ,why?
-
Memphis ,not sure why....perhaps in need to look more into reloading after all....
-
Thank you for your suggestions.... so far the Winchester 147 flat nose is remarkably accurate....the Atlanta arms less so...ymmv.
-
I like the mbx magazines.... they have been quite reliable.... just received some TTI Sv tubes with tti springs, followers and pads , for added capacity.....we shall see how they work....
-
Take a look at the GPS backpacks..... large plenty.
-
Just ordered an alpha x , based on what some of you have said..... what belt do you pair it with?
-
OP, It depends on your budget..... given the aforementioned choices , I’d go with the S&w. DW, a Colt would also be good choices

There's mo substitute to dry firing.... just get familiar ,again ,with your pistol, magz and sights.
