When you are faced with getting a "Ghost Shift" Chinese knockoff of a US Branded item at a discount it really comes down to a moral or ethical decision. Do you want to save a few bucks on an item and guarantee a loss of sale to the US Brand? Or do you want to pay a little more to support the US Brands that show a vested interest in supporting the practical shooting sports.

C-More and SIG invest a lot of money into sponsoring practical shooting events. Most of the major matches couldn't produce the high level of match they do without sponsorship from companies that are dedicated to supporting the practical shooting sports.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would rather spend a little more on products from companies that support the practical shooting sports. Does this increase my shooting expenses a little bit? Absolutely. But I would rather spend a little extra money on things knowing that my hard earned cash is going to businesses that have the same vested interest in the practical shooting sports as I do.

Both are comparable price wise....  overall I agree with you on account of supporting a us based company. That aside, just asking pound for pound which is a better red dot.

I don't think you will find many people running shock buffs on their open guns. They are short stroking the gun and introducing a possible failure point into the system. The compensator on an open gun bleeds off a lot of energy that would be going into the slide compared to a non compensated gun. That is why you can run such a light recoil spring in the first place.

...so if I’m reading you correctly, you oppose adding a shock buff?

  3. wackokid, I have an imm full size open in 38sc ,and my ammo is the ATLANTA arms, 125 jhp major. when iuse a 7# wolff variable with a polymer shock buff, the pistol wont recycle. it'll shoot one or 2 rounds and wont return to battery.

with a standard svi 8# & polymer shockbuf ,the pistol cycles with zero issues ,but feels "snappier", and more "violent", albeit  quicker , faster splits.

what gives/ how do I obtain a happy median?

  4. Shot an outdoor steel match this morning.... cloudy to partly sunny skies... could barely see the dot on my rts2.... cleaned the glass with alcohol swipe and dried with canned air.... still ,the dot was barely visible....any suggestions?

  5. From everything I gathered, bul  is a diamond in the rough ,so to speak....  too bad they don’t have a meaningful presence here in the USA.

Certainly seem to be in a higher quality  class of STI( which has fallen by the wayside in the last couple of years ,with sub par cs ,terrible quality and weird models),or any of the other semi custom 2011 shops.....
