*thumb rest [generic]* caused me more issues than they helped. While not helping my scores. I have several in my spare parts box and none on my Open Gun.
Don’t do what I did getting caught up in the gear and gadget black hole.
Work on your support hand position, wrist break over, Target transitions and movement.
you will have better scores for it.

I agree 200%.... after struggling with them for 4 weeks, I fail to realize any benefits..... took them off!!!
    smart advice sir!!!!

    Hi Oded,

I think a thumb rest is very important for my grip style and minimizing recoil.  It also adds a solid level of consistency for thumb placement.

    1) Consistency/thumb placement.  Good grip is essential.  Having the same grip every time is essential.  Various pressure in odd spots creates an unpredictable (not just straight up and straight down dot) which leads to poor results.  Having a spot to hit like the pedal has helped me a bunch.

    2) Locking the wrist/thumb.  The goal of the thumb pedal isn't to push down on the pedal.  That is bad.  Contrary to silly youtube "shooting professionals".....you do NOT push down on the gun.  You let the gun do it's thing.  It's going to recoil.  Don't push down....you can't time your shots to push down at the right time.  Let the gun recoil, but lock your left wrist and put pressure in the right spots and it won't recoil much....but you're not fighting the gun down.  Thus, with a thumb rest, don't push down.  This is why people who don't train run into troubles with it.  Instead, you use it to aid in locking your wrist.

Get a slo mo of the gun, wrist, etc with and without a *thumb rest [generic]*.  See what the dot does with either.

    Good luck!

Great advice and input , Christian. Appreciate it very much.
have fun at the infinity experience. I’ll try to make it( it will be my 3rd) next year.

If no one has suggested - an option for those "wrong" handed lefties is a company called "Evil Hand". They don't have a lot of stuff, but the DPP mount I had from them was solid. As a "Righty" I've tried almost every option that's offered, searching for one that is the angle I like and far enough forward; as a Lefty, id be looking custom for sure!

I'll also add, a thumb rest is the best thing I did to my Limited and Open guns.

    https://www.evil-hand.com/

Thank you very much for the heads up.I’ll check evil hand out.

  5. I’m trying tp determine wether a gas paddle will be of critical help on my svi open.
im left handed so the choices in paddles are limited.

Who uses them , prefers them over “ naked” option, and which ones ?

  6. ok ,so far got, shadow 2 orange, bull shadow cxc with red dot mount, shadow 2 sao, and cz75 pcr czc tuned...... they are all nice but the bull shadow is a incredible!

Guns mesh with different people differently.  The A01-LD and I get along best of all the CZs.  I really prefer the smaller, rounded trigger guard.  Odd how such a small detail makes such a difference for me.  After that, the AccuShadow 2 and I get along great.

So so true..... the A01 LD, seems like a formidable pistol....

Another thing to consider, if the gun comes from the Custom Shop or CZ factory.

I used Oak Hills website to compare models, as its more detailed than CZ-USA or CZcustom.

Great point. I’ll check out his site.

Reliability s2 and s1 before TS/TSO/Czeckmate/Parrot .  I am not saying the later are bad but the might need a little work to make them perfect.
Best model really depends on you and your game, almost like asking which Toyota is better a Tacoma or a Camry.
The answer is it depends.  The S1 and S2 are extremely reliable other than slide stops and trigger return springs.  Also magazines are a non issue the just work at least until the need higher power springs.
My favorites are the S1 variants with the S1 orange on top but the difference in price is too much for me as the basic one with a 12 or 11.5 lbs hammer spring, S2 sights and a solid trigger pin is good enough for me but I would not complain if I got an orange for free.
The Ts/Tso are well liked for limited but I prefer the TS or Tangfolio because of the larger grips.
The best advice would be to hold them or shoot them and you will know which one is for you. Then you can decide on how fancy you want to get after you decided on the form factor and the game you want to play.
Also I f you buy one and you don’t like it, then you can always gift it to me.

Thank you kindly. Great input and analogies. If I decide to gift you any of these “”” rubbish””” cz, would you like it wrapped?😀

When I opened up my Shadow 2 Orange to do the internal polishing, it was amazing how the machining was so much better compared to my other CZ's.

Is this a new era of production process for CZ, or just a special run for the S2 orange?

  11. Great input from all! Thank you. Would welcome additional view and experiences.

i shoot open and limited divisions at uspsa, and use svi infinity pistols.

the cz “ bug” is more of an afterthought ,expanding my collection in to uncharted territories, but wish to maximize my selection based on those who have had extensive trigger time with the  current crop of cz offerings.

  12. Question to all you cz aficionados-

With today’s offerings from cz, how would you rank the best model , pound for pound in terms of comfort, accuracy, trigger pulls, and overall reliability.

    shadow2

    accushadow

    shadow target,

    sp-01 shadow.

    shadow 2 orange

    ts orange sa

     shadow 2 sa

    any other model?
