  1. Thank you for the outstanding information. I saw many bad reviews about the LPA sights so I have stayed away from them. I am not too worried about the rear sight riding a little higher and Dawson can make a front sight for me to get to POA / POI. I will have to look around to see if I can find any pictures of the XD sight on a P320 to see how much it may hang off the rear. Or find a picture of that sight on a P226 and compare the measurements of the rear of the sight notch to the rear of the slide to the P320.
  2. I have read through our forums and this is brought up a little here and there with little info but I am looking to see if anyone has any information on adjustable rear sights that will fix the P320 without having to mill the slide. I am still amazed that no one has some out with this yet and after talking to Dawson they have no plans to make a set. Any links / pictures would be a big help. I have dawson comp rear sight on right now but have non-stop issues with it coming loose, dawson thinks it may have been a blemished rear sight but before I spend the money to by another rear sight I would much prefer an adjustable sight.
  3. While the estimated turn around time is nothing to be excited about, I have to say that I am very impressed that Sig is picking up all shipping costs. Now the one thing that I do not like is that they provided next to no information as to what will be replaced and or modified. I think that I am going to wait until we have a few members here that have completed this upgrade and are able to post pictures and their thoughts after firing the "upgraded" P320. What would have made this an awesome upgrade is if they offered to install the X-Five trigger instead of the curved trigger. I would have no issue if they charged something like a $40 upgrade fee to have the straight trigger installed. While I already have this trigger I think that many owners would go for that as well.
  4. Great post. I appreciate you taking the time to put that together.
  5. Once again... This post is "P320 Voluntary Upgrade, Will you do it?", if you would like to start a different post more focused on your agenda please do so but this post is for us to discuss if we will have the upgrade done. And as for attacking you, I am sorry you feel that way. I tried to prevent it by saying "If you can not tell, I am joking with you in most of this and trying to keep this light hearted". I will refrain from using humor and attempts to keep posts light hearted in the future if said posts are in response to something you posted. As for your statement "I am providing the arguments backed up by facts, logic, and evidence" your most recent link you provided starts off with "The following is the opinion of the author, and his alone". A writers Opinion is not Fact or evidence. But I digress and will continue to focus on the TOPIC, of this post and look forward to your "P320 speculation" post that you are welcome to start at anytime and share your views.
  6. @cheby Your post on this topic thus far have been negative in nature and not focused on the topic "P320 Voluntary Upgrade, Will you do it?" From what I can tell you do not own a P320 or a Sig in general. You shoot CZ after having moved from shooting glocks (which could be the root cause of your continued negative posting, I heard it is a common side affect of glock owners). I myself own Glocks and Sig's so I assure you that it is possible to respect all brands of weapons and help support the community instead of causing negativity, you just have to try really really hard. haha all kidding aside.... While this is a free country and I can not stop you from posting in this topic, in the future I please ask that you refrain from posting and if you feel the uncontrollable desire to bash Sig, you start your own thread. If all else fails and you find that you continue to have unlimited free time with nothing better to do may I suggest the following to occupy your time: - Dry fire drills - Reloading ammo - Cleaning your CZ - Live fire drills If you can not tell, I am joking with you in most of this and trying to keep this light hearted, please allow us current or potential Sig P320 owners to remain on topic.
  7. I get what you are saying there but the rule book does not dictate anything to your point so "if" I were to have an RO saying the P320 is unsafe I don't know of any leverage I would have to counter his claim per the USPSA rule book. Granted this situation may never happen but just curious to learn.
  8. In response to my question of if the USPSA may place any ban on the P320. I have received the following from Mike Foley, President of USPSA "Thanks for your inquiry. We do not currently have any information on the subject. USPSA does not certify competitor equipment, and defers to the current rulebook only at this time." Most of you are more experienced than myself but after reading the handbook I could only find the following that could apply to this: 5.1.6 Handguns must be serviceable and safe. Range Officers may demand examination of a competitor's handgun or related equipment, at any time, to check they are functioning safely. If any such item is declared unserviceable or unsafe by a Range Officer, it must be withdrawn from the match until the item is repaired to the satisfaction of the Range Master. It seems that the decision rests on the Range Officer alone. I only ask this as I have met a few (actually lost count) glock fanatics that love any chance they can to highlight a flaw in a Sig. I have also met a few Range Officers like this as well.
  9. Does anyone think or know if the USPSA may temporarily ban the P320 due to this drop issue?
  10. There is no incident. Someone asked what ND was from my statement "The X-Five was also tested and had no ND's". Someone else responded to correct my use of ND by saying "Negligent Discharge implies user error or carelessness." ND... AD... fact is that every situation is different and can result in being determined as ND, AD or UD. I wanted to use the term UD but I made the assumption (since I am military) that UD would not be as vastly known by readers as ND may be. I will edit the two letters so that we can get back on topic here.
  11. And you don't consider dropping your weapon to be user error or carlessness? I am in the military and if you drop your weapon and it fires it would be considered a ND because your inability to maintain positive control of said firearm was the cause. Now back to the actual topic of this post...
  12. I "personally" do not agree with "sell everything off at a loss and find a different platform." They have determined that the factory trigger is the cause behind this and many owners like myself have already installed triggers from Gray Guns which is the same trigger installed on the X-Five which is not affected by this issue. BUT... it can also depend on your primary use for the P320. I use mine for USPSA Limited with a fair amount of work done to the weapon. If my EDC was a P320 then I can understand even after having the upgrade done dealing with questioning the weapon and safety but in that case I would upgrade to the X-Carry once it releases. This is just "IMO" and nothing more.
  13. You are correct sorry about that. I said FFL because since I live on a military base, the fee to ship from our FFL on base is cheaper than going out in town to UPS or FEDEX so I am just used to saying FFL. Either way I doubt they will cover any shipping. Would be nice if they covered return shipping and some sort of online tracking system by weapon SN so you can see the status while they are working on it.
  14. This is not for the X-Five as it stands right now. The X-Five was also tested and had no unintentional discharges. Also at this time this is not a "recall", the P320 passed all drop tests required by law, this is a "voluntary upgrade". I will be interested to see if Sig will cover FFL fee's (I doubt it) and what the turn around time will be.
  15. We wont know the full details of the voluntary upgrade Sig announced yesterday until Monday but I am curious at this point and as we receive more information, is this something you will do? If not why? I found the following information about the upgrade program from TTAG who was invited to Sig HQ yesterday to talk with them about this issue and the way forward. You can read the full article HERE

    P320 X5 Basepads

Springer is 1.08 oz for the +.375 base pads.
  17. Just saw this article this morning. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/08/01/strike-industries-make-sig-p320-frames/ Interested to hear what you all would like to see in a third party Grip Module. Personally I would like: 1911 or X5 style grip angle grips focused towards USPSA with ability to easily attach magwells Trigger undercut
  18. Thanks for the lead. I found a picture of it on his instagram. Do you know if he liked the design and stayed with it? I saw on his new X5 he does not have it on there but that may just be in the process.
  19. @BC27 also what did you use to create the transition line to ensure a even depth?
  20. Nice job! Came out looking great. I received my package with the grits the other day so this weekend I will get started. Anything you learned during this process? What type of brush did you use? Also if someone does not mind, can you measure the diameter of the Sig logo that is on the grip? I am looking to get a custom medallion made to place on the grip like Alama has done before but don't want to order one too large or small.
  21. I looked last night of a way to attach one and the TDL makes it very difficult to place one in the correct location without interfering with the take down process unless there was some way to swap the TDL to the right side. I wonder if there would be any affects on the TDL of the FCU over time if you were to make a TDL that has a thumb rest built into it.
  22. I talked to Springer awhile ago and they stated they were looking into creating a thumb rest for the P320 but nothing as of yet. Has anyone tired a universal rail mounted thumb rest with the P320 or ventured into actually drilling and attaching one to the grip module? I have never shot with one but am interested in seeing the difference if any.
  23. I would say if you are happy with the G35 for limited then look to pick up a P320 X5 for use in 3 gun. Once the X5 comes out in 40 that will become my new limited gun and my current P320 in 9mm will be used for 3 gun.
  24. Is there any markings on the gun that say "TacOps"? If he purchased factory 17 round mags wouldn't he be good? I thought that the TacOps still only said P320 on the pistol.
