  1. You may wanna load up a few of a lighter charge and a few with a heavier charge too. Im thinking your charge is about right with a shorter oal. Stretching them out that long though should slow them down. Considering you are so far from your range i would make sure you make the most out of the trip. Would stink leaving there not knowing what your load will be. Start at like 4.8 and work up to maybe even 5.4 or 5.5. I see some people even load 180s out to 1.200
  2. Here is a 10 shot string. Sd was 10.63 1396 1387 1376 1393 1362 1390 1373 1386 1374 1386
  3. I have a few that i use. All sd seems to stay between 10 and 15. Autocomp 5.4gr 115gr xtreme. N320 3.9gr 124gr xtreme.hs6 8.1gr 124 mg. 3.9gr titegroup with 115 xtreme.
  4. Im at 10.18 right now. What are things that effect the sd? Bullet weight variances? Usind xtreme. Mixed brass? Using mostly fc and speer. Uneven charge weight? Make sure it stays under.1 every drop. Anything else? Crimp? Im crimped to .376 outside diameter at case mouth. Oal? im getting about .04 variance.
  5. Just curious what most peoples standard deviation is. What is considered to high?
  6. im not a fan of win brass either. Everytime i find a cracked case, its a win.
  7. yes i get 2 different rp brass as well.
  8. posts like these made me so scared to start loading 9mm major. Once i did it, i realized that it wasnt as bad as i thought. Definitely take caution when loading 9mm major. Do the research on your powder and loads and start your powder charge lower than your research and slowly work your way up. If you take necessary cautions you will be fine. I personally think that 9mm major is taking over and eventually you wont see many if any 38 supers. I use srp which may mask preasure signs but thats because they are better at handling preasure
  9. concave base. Its not flat on the bottom.
  10. Wondering if the heavy plated concave base bullets are ok for major. I have seen lots of people have issues with the standard xtreme rn tumbling and keyholing. Wondering if the hpcb bullets stop the tumbling issue. Thanks
  11. I get a 128pf in 50 degree weather with 4.0 gr autocomp, 1.155, and xtreme 147. Cfe usually uses just slightly more powder for the same pf as autocomp. I know your shooting lead and i use plated but it should get you pretty close.
  12. out of all those powders that you have tried, what makes you like the silhouette the best? Ive tried i have tried most of those powders too and silhouette was one of my least favorite. It was definitely snappier than the other powders ive tried. Ive tried hs6, autocomp, 3n37, true blue, silhouette, and cfe. Hs6 was the dirtiest but the softest. Hs6 is still my 1st choice though. Cfe would be my 2nd choice.
  13. Go with the vz operator 2. Love them. When i put the gun down the imprint is still on my hand. Very aggressive.
  14. Are those the +0?yes mine dont add any rounds
  15. I have the springer pads and like them very much. Mine dont have a set screw like someone mentioned.
  16. Most 40 cal factory ammo is close to 180 pf. You should be totally fine but pay attention to where your brass is landing. If its landing 10 or 15 feet away, id go with a heavier recoil spring. I tested american eagle ammo and it was a 187pf.
  17. Go with the sti. I know im one of the few but sigs dont impress me.
  18. Supposing you had a ck frame and slide and a sti frame and slide. Same builder fit them together and same internals. One probably wouldnt be better than the other though. Correct?
  19. Ck any better than sti? Or are they all the same pretty much?
  20. Good to know zzt. Troupe i have heard good things about the sv as well
  21. well i already have everything except the hammer. C&s Ultra low mass sear, c&s match disconnector, and sti titanium hammer strut. Just trying to figure out if the c&s hammer is good too.im also using a nowlin sear spring.
  22. Taking the price out of the decision. Say all the hammers cost the same. Is there any advantage to the c&s? Reason i was leaning towards that is because i have the c&s disconnector and sear already. Thought maybe it might work better with their parts?
  23. Anyone using the ultra light hammer from cylinder and slide? Wondering if its worth the $100
  24. Never used them for production but have used lots of them.
