  1. I've loaded my first 1k on both my 1050 and 550... I have loaded tens of thousands of rounds on my 650 before I sold it to upgrade... I am having a few issues with both. When I get to the powder drop/bell station the cases are sticking pretty bad. I am using Dillon Carbide does (no U die) and although the rounds are coming out perfectly, it's annoying and does not feel "smooth". I know that part of the issue is the MBF that is on the 1050, the funnel has been known to stick... The 550? Have not heard this... I am having issues though. I loaded 38special on the 550 with zero problems, 45 and 9... No good. I use case lube and stick have the issue... Yes, I wet tumble... But, even in "uncleared" brass I am still getting this. As another note, the bell is so minor, it's def not over belling. Also, I have loaded the same for years, same way of cleaning brass, same way of loading... Same amount of powder, etc... Never had this with the 650... The 650 and 550 are not very different I terms of operation... Not sure why this would start happening now? Thoughts/help?
  2. Is APW that much better? Im about to have a pistol done but cant pick who to send it to For me, yes... Again I am not saying anything bad about any other company. I have a old revo that I got from a close friend. He had it Hard Chrome by APW (brushed stainless) and it looks as good as the day he had it done. I also help a friend do bluing and refinishing work... I can typically blast off most hard chrome done by many companies that plate. Anything that APW does... no chance that is happening. Literally have to send it out to get it all off. Because of those two reasons I personally think APW does the best Chrome plating. Again, only my personal opinion!
  3. Thanks guys! Looking forward to bumping into you all in the forums!
  4. Looking for folks who do both prep and application of Ionbond... I would rather pay for this to done right vs a shop that does "ok" work... Prime example is I've had hard Chrome done by APW and it's been too notch... I've had it done by Metaloy and it's not been as good. Nothing against Metaloy, it just Has not held up like the few I've had Cogan do. Thanks in advance
  5. I have just sent in a Dillon press... also sent in a ton of conversion parts and random stuff that came with it when bought it. The powder drops were old spring loaded drops as well.. I was missing the primer system on the press and some other parts, like the case feed tube... I am curious to see if Dillon replaces most of the missing parts for those conversions? Do the replace the missing primer system? Do the upgrade the powder drops? If not, will they call and ask if I want this to be done? Curious to hear thoughts from others, and how that went!
  6. I have a 1050 and have been told to seat primers to a certain depth. Can anyone tell me how to measure this? Thanks!
  7. I just sent a 650 in... Have sent them in in the past as well... Turnaround totally depends on how busy they are. One took 2-3 weeks... The other took 3 months.
  8. Just stopping by to say hello! Looking to learn more about reloading and competitive shooting!!
