  1. Agree 101% Funny story, I have a match next saturday. I spent all last night getting everything ready.
  2. Awesome. Thanks for the heads up Terry. I may get just the inner belt from JR as well.
  3. Negative. Shongum on Saturday. Definitely want to check out CJ soon, too. Awesome man, your gonna be hooked. Old Bridge has great matches too. Thanks!! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to shoot last Saturday for two reasons: in all the excitement that morning, I forgot my belt and attachments at home...ugh! And I was also coming down with the flu pretty hard. Even still, I would have pushed through and shot the match had I not been a knucklehead. Oh well. RTSP has an indoor match this Sunday. I'd like to check out Old Bridge some day, but I'm usually not free on Sunday mornings. Bummer. I almost forgot my belt once. I got about a mile from home and realised. What I do now is tether my gun belt through the handle of my range bag the night before. Have not forgotten it since doing that.
  4. Sounds like a good time and sounds like you did a good job!
  5. All of my glocks shot left when I first got them, or maybe I should say I shot all my glocks left. The problem with me was the way I was pulling the trigger, due to the ergonomics it caused me to pull the gun left upon pulling the trigger. I have big hands and the lower tip of my index trigger was rubbing the bottom of the trigger guard. So I added a beaver tail and that repositioned my trigger finger so that no longer happened. The guns started shooting straighter. I do have the rear sight on my 17 drifted a bit right of center, and my 34 is a hair right of center. Try benching the gun with a solid rest and really concentrate on a straight back trigger press. See if there is any change. Oh yea, funny thing to add. I was practicing weak hand unsupported, using my weak eye last week. The gun was shooting right.
  6. I recently picked up a 24" JM 930 pro. I did a lot of research before buying. I ordered the or3gun MST, recoil spring plunger and follower before I even had the gun in hand. I never even shot it stock. When it showed up, I completely stripped and cleaned it. Installed the new parts and it has been running good. Although, yesterday I was messing around shooting trap and had 1 light strike. I DO have the 10/22 spring on hand to fix that potential issue, but haven't installed it yet.
  7. Nimitz, motor oil works great too. I have some shell rotella synthetic oil that I run a lot in some guns.
  8. Thanks for all the help everyone. Sounds like the CR Speed would work. May end up switching around inner belts and make the perfect setup. The JR looks nice too.
  9. Sorry if this has been covered, I could not find it. I will preface this with the fact that I am a fat guy. About 6'3" 320lbs. I currently have a Double Alpha belt size 48 and wear about 44-46" pants. The fit is good and I am happy with the stiffness of the outer belt, but the inner belt leaves little to be desired. The edges of the inner belt feel like they are cutting into me and it is quite irritating. I am just getting into 3gun and want to have 2 belts, one for uspsa/ipsc and 1 dedicated for 3gun. I'm tired of switching my belt around for different games and don't like altering the position of my gear, holster etc. Is there a belt out there that has a more comfortable inner belt and is AS STIFF as my double alpha? I am happy with the stiffness of the DA outer belt. My main concern is the stiffness of the outer belt for 3gun, since the gear is heavier. I suppose I could live with a slightly less stiff outer belt for pistol shooting. So what I am leaning towards is this........... Buying a belt and switching inner belts. Using the stiffer outer and softer inner for 3gun. Then living with the the other for pistiol only shooting until I can spend $ on a third belt abd keep my least favorite belt as a backup. Any advice on who makes the stiffest outer and who makes the most comfy inner? Does anybody make custom inner belts? Thanks for your help.
  10. I prefer grease on some parts, oil or clp on others. I have been using this stuff called PM600 Military grease. Use it on my AR bolt carrier rails and cam pin, glock rails and the recoil spring plunger/pusher junction of my 930 bolt. Most of these are low tolerance areas. Areas of tight tolerance, I use clp or some other oil.
  11. I prefer to sort brass by headstamp. Different makes may need the die to be adjusted differnetly to achieve proper headspace, due to variances in thickness. Also, if you are using range pickups, you will find the force required at the handle will vary depending on the size of the chamber the brass was shot out of. Make sure the brass is free of debris before lubing. Lube brass before sizing. Test the die adjustment using a case gauge. I use a homebrew lube made with liquid lanolin and 99% alcohol. About 10 or 12 parts alcohol to 1 part lanolin. Put in a large container and mist a little from a spray bottle. It doesn't take much. Let the alcohol evaporate and it is ready to size. It is easy to over do. If you put too much lube on you will possibly see dents on the shoulder. If that happens, back off on the lube.
  12. I cringe every time I fill a case for a 55gr load with my precious 8208XBR. While it does work OK for 55gr, I much prefer to save it for my 68 through 77gr loads. TAC or 335 are mo go to powders for 55gr and they are usually fairly easy to find. All of the above meter well too.
  13. Hello everyone. Been shooting uspsa for a few years. Just starting to get into 3gun. Most recently picked up a JM 930 pro, and from reading tips and tricks from this and other sites, I have it running well. I hope to be able to contribute at some point.
