  1. Does anybody have any idea when they updated the weights on the Stock II and III pistols? I think they where well over do for updating as i cant remember when the last time i received a stock II under 45oz out of the box. Sorry if this is old news just now catching up to ensure some future projects are not held up.

The information below was taken straight from USPSA.org

    TANFOGLIO

    Website: www.tanfoglio.it
Notes: (Stock Custom model is NOT approved for Production Division) Weights for some Stock II and III pistols changed 91616

Notice how they specifically call out the "Witness Elite Models" for the Stock II and III pistols. I always recall the 44oz number being thrown around but that more than likely was based off a small frame pistol.

If the trigger can't come forward enough after dropping the hammer yes, but that's because the actual trigger bar reset distance doesn't change, and the bolo is blocking the forward motion of the trigger.

    Bingo ☝?

Joe, what's the price gonna be?

I’m hoping the same price point as before..... we’ll see as we’ve been hoping this would happen for a month or so and IFG just got the word that it’s going to happen. Hopefully we’ll have more details at SHOT show when these things are discussed in more details.

  4. Milling is for sure the only way to go with red dots.... its crazy how low you can get these in the slide. Sight picture is way easier to acclimate to if your an iron sight guy.

We'll be offering this in the next few weeks.... just finalizing what all optics will work on the tanfo platform

  5. FYI- It appears Tanfo is back to putting GEN 1 trigger bars back into at least the guns IFG is bringing in...... the last 4-5 guns have had GEN 1 bars....... This is why we have not made another run of BOLO's for GEN 2 Bars..... they re absolutely all over the place

    Correct.

It’ll make your gun hit slightly harder with whatever spring you use. It may allow for you to drop to a lighter spring and still be relable. Your gun’s tolerances and your primer & reloading precision will be important in how light you can go.

this is absolutely correct, good info MM

It was a bit unclear on their site as their product descriptions are less than useful.

I'm sorry you find my question annoying socal, but when you don't know what to search, the search feature is a bit hard to use effectively.

Thanks for the info @SouperMan, appreciate the help.

The below information is straight from the product page, further more if you should need more help feel free to call and we'll assist in anyway we can. Seems like your on the right track now.......

Wow, you sure are a great ambassador for Patriot Defense.

As we've stated numerous times before SoCal is his own free spirit and is not employed by Patriot Defense

Im going back to milling more tanfo slides now...........

NOTE – For a trouble free install with the BOLO interrupter we recommend you have the Xtreme Sear and Titan Hammer installed on your pistol. These two items are a must if your looking for a trouble free install on your firearm.

    • Please read the below product description before purchasing.
    • Some pistols will require fitting due to the vast amount of machining tolerance variations in these pistols.
    • The supplied pin is designed to float in the hammer pin holes, use grease to aid in assembly and keep the pin from falling out.
    • Please contact us should you have any question regarding fitting or modifying your BOLO

    Installation Directions-

    1. Check single action function, first.  SA should drop and reset with the slide on.  If SA does not break or reset, remove material from angle 1, following the natural curve of the interrupter. This also applies if SA breaks, but does not reset.
    1. Check double action function.  If DA does not break remove material from angle 2. CAUTION: This is an extremely sensitive part of the process; if you do not feel comfortable attempting this, please have a qualified gunsmith fit this part or send your firearm to Patriot Defense for proper fitting.

    BOLO Fitting
  8. messed around recently with a "shop" gun that we had a spare barrel for and actually reamed it .250" passed what SAAMI spec is....... accuracy maintained as before but we did loose a little bit of velocity probably due to gas escaping from around the projectile. At the end of the day the bearing surface of pistol bullets and the length of the barrels they're launched from will have no issues stabilizing bullets even with an extra long throated barrel .

Blue loctite is a failure waiting to happen on any front sight. Heat and vibration loosen loctite. Think about that.

Use red in the dovetail. And red on the screw.

If your sight isn’t a very tight press fit, peen the lower corners of it’s dovetail before driving it in. Take a small punch and raise a couple of spots on the corners by striking them with a punch.

If the sight doesn’t need driven in with moderate force from a hammer and punch, the setscrew is going to have trouble holding it.

MM nailed it on this one......

We got tired of the calls and emails with complaints of the mounts fitting loose in dovetails due to EAA's horrible tolerances.

We machined the mounts to be a tapped in fit with the slide we had here when we prototyped. Then we had complaints of them fitting loose in some guns, so we actually cut them even bigger on the second run, which still didn't seem to fix the fit in some people's guns, and some customers had to end up fitting them to get them to fit.

Essentially the headache of us having to be the ones to deal with EAA's horrible qc/ tolerances got to the point it wasn't worth making a couple dollars on the mounts and dealing with exchanges, eating shipping fees for replacements, etc.

the story of our LIFE!!!!! Sometimes we wonder why we do it to ourselves....... However the tanfo crowd is a good bunch.

As a match director I’d be all for letting him shoot 22 as long as he has the proper gear. Since it sounds like that’s the case he’d be fine at one of my matches.  One thing we always seem to forget is shooting is fun and we need to work as ambassadors for our game. If we aren’t attracting youth we are failing

    very well said!

  12. Highly unlikely that IFG will ever be able to import any gun that EAA has/is importing.....

The Stock I is a pretty nice pistol, its based off a Stock III just a bit shorter. We'll be doing a full write up some time this weekend on our thoughts. So far all the guns we have received have had the lightest DA/SA numbers out of the box compared to any other Tanfo Model. Still not under 10lbs for DA but its close, so things are looking promising. Other than that its made by the same company, so dont expect to many differences other than the new slide serrations and subtle changes here and there. Teaser pic.....

For a trigger return slave pin, I cut down a small Allen wrench that came with one of the front sights. Cajun Gun Works also includes a tiny roll pin to use as a slave pin with their return springs.

I used to use a q tip, but those can deform and cause trouble.

Na it's pretty easy with using a q-tip as a slave pin. I actually got it in the first time, first try ever.

Buying a new gun is easier than replacing the return spring, right? I've never removed my trigger pin, but guess I'll learn!

Tip of the day - If you have a BOLO the pin works perfectly as a slave pin for holding the TRS into place and installing the trigger pin back in the frame.....

IFG-NA is completely separate and has zero to do with EAA, they import Pedersoli, Sabatti, FAIR and now The Tanfoglio Stock 1(with more to come god willing).  Some of the confusion is there were some guns imported by IFG-Rockledge, Florida on them quite a few years ago.  IFG-NA is a completely different company with zero to do with the former.  As Patriot Defense said please call and talk to Justin at IFG-NA and he can answer all your questions.  They are great people and really do care about their customers.  I got one of the first Stock 1's imported by them in 9mm and between myself and my 9 year old we have a couple hundred rounds through it with zero issues.  It's now on its way to Patriot Defense to get their magic worked on it.

here are a couple vids of my  son shooting it:

Thats awesome getting the future of our shooting sports out there. Way to go DAD!
