    Update:

Thanks again to all for the help. I took Joe's advice (shaving material off the nub of the Unica Flat Safety). It took five (5) passes (going "light") before it would engage at full cock and hammer down. It is a "tad" stiffer to engage the safety when hammer is down, but works well at full cock position. I do not want to shave any more material off now that it is functional. It is for USPSA Production so safety will not be used anyway--just wanted it functional.

I'm going to test fire/function check it well at the range this afternoon.

good to hear, sounds like you have it handled!

    Thanks for that info.

All my parts were installed and tested by PD before shipping the Stock II. They were out of the Unica Flat Safety at the time and I finally got around to installing it. I do not like the large ambi safety that came with the gun.

I just called PD and talked to JoAnna. I know that Joe reads the forums sometimes. I'm posting a picture of the Stock II with hammer forward (Unica Flat Safety will not engage).

These guys above where correct in saying the safety needs to be fit to the sear. You can do this one of two ways... either shave the bottom side of the left hand sear arm until the safety fits underneath.

Or, what we prefer to do is fit the safety to the sear by shaving material off the nub of the safety lever that fits underneath the sear arm. In either circumstance go slow and fit often, it doesn't take much.... a quick 2-3 second light pass with the dremel.

2 emoji106.pngemoji106.png up for a great company! Sent my barrel to have their reaming service done and my barrel was sent out the same day that they received it! I ordered some of their specialty parts at the same time and they shipped it back with my barrel.

Their light weight guide rod is amazing,I can't believe how light it is.

I just wanted to say thank you them and they now have a customer for life.

It’s great to hear back from our customers! Thanks for the feedback.

There's also a wide variability in how high off the top of the slide the dot is based on which optic you choose. My old style Deltapoint is significantly smaller than the Pro, & the Viper appears in between both. I think the Pro is the tallest of the commonly used dots, based on pics.

The pro is also to wide to add bosses on the slide that capture the optic, so we have to mill the slide super tight in order to keep it sandwiched in there......

I know Mateo said something about adding a lightened guiderod possibly to bring the weight down some.  As for the finish it’s fine, this is the only one in the country and has been to several shows to include SHOT, the number of people that have had their hands on it and set it on tables etc is very high.

Wander where that idea came from ?

Would you mind going into more detail about how they modified the firing pin block?

I'm curious to know if it is still functional, which you can test by pressing on the block and then trying to push the firing pin forward. Also wondering if the firing pin block spring is pressing up on the bottom of the optic

Also, we'd love to see you show off a pic or 2 :D

The FPB is completely functional after modification.... it just needs .200" removed from the OAL and the spring shortened.

Patriot defense just sent mine back.  I did not get the slide roughed up but the lower position is awesome.  I did have to use the 1 deg. shim but I am now really pleased.  I still have the front sight on the gun and the dot is right on it at 18 yards.

They did a great job and they redid the firing pin block.

    just under 140. plus freight

great job and I am very glad I had it done

    Mark

Mark mounted a Vortex Viper to his slide and out of the 10 or so Viper cuts we have done his was the first that needed a shim placed under it due to the fact he ran out of elevation while trying to zero the gun. He managed to find a shim that worked great for his application and hes up and running.

  7. you guys are correct... the new comp surprising enough is not a cone fit and requires a custom bushing to be made in order for it to work. Why they did this i have no idea....... It does however improve the performance out of the gun and allows it to shoot much flatter than the factory comp. We are working with another custom firearms manufacturer to bring to market a 'Drop-in-ish cone fit comp" since we've received so much attention from these. So if you like to tinker and want some performance gains the comp wont disappoint.....

    Awesome thread until the sb/

    primer discussion lol.

My new S2 has a shorter throw and I was looking at the issue.

wondering if and incorrect disco would wear out the frame....

noticed a few guys talking about frame wear by the disco....

Even a factory interrupter will begin to put a divot in the ramp over time... its just the way the stack up height lays out on these guns. Unfortunately dimensions vary greatly as we all know.....

I've installed 5 Bolos now, and ruined several before I finally got it all worked out.  My advice is to follow the PD instructions on fitting the Bolo first, and ensure that you're ALWAYS testing it with the slide installed - never test it with trigger pull without having the slide installed, get it fitted with the SA working first, then DA, and then if it needs it, work on the tip to lengthen the DA pull.  Doing it that way has resulted in 5 successful installs, "fiddling" trying to do steps out of order or trying to "fix" an already molested Bolo, never worked and was a waste of time.

    this is a perfect recommendation.......

  10. What has me worried is that you may have a timing issue on the gun if this just started for you. What happens is the SA breaks slightly to early before the trigger bar has moved far enough down on the SA cycle causing the BOLO wing to slightly impact the trigger bar. Depending how hard its hitting is dependent how long it takes to get wear on the BOLO wing..... this could happen as soon as a few hundred rounds or several thousand.

Is the slide milled for just one optic or can it be for multiple optic patterns.

Many optics share the same mount profile....... For instance i know the following will fit the same slide cut ( Docter, Vortex, Burris).... Only one that's considerably different is the Leupold DPP.

Only if its in old english.......

    Milling of slide

    only as required to insert

    optical sights

A slide may be modified specifically for

the purpose of installing optical sights

    or cocking serrations. Textured

finishes, grip tape, milling or stippling

on the slide to provide texture is also

allowed. Cuts that are designed to

    specifically or signific

    antly lighten the

slide, such as holes, are ruled as

    competitive advantage and prohibited.

Last time IFG popped up couple years ago they had same cs people answering calls and emails.

If its a separate entity now hopefully customer service will be better.

It’s a new shop. @PatriotDefense covered that not too long ago.

MM is correct..... this is a completely different company from anything in the past and has no affiliation with anyone at EAA.

IFG are really good folks to deal with.
