  1. I use Kytex pouches for everything I do - concealed carry, IDPA, and USPSA - for both Glocks and M&Ps. They work great for concealed carry and IDPA, but for USPSA Limited I'm thinking about swapping to Ready Tactical offset mag pouches. The Kytex fit very close to the body, and I feel my mag changes would be faster and smoother if I had a little more space to work with.
  2. As was said, a video would be a big help in order for anyone to give good advise. How are you holding the mags? Are you cupping the base in the palm of your hand and running your index finger up the front edge of the mag? Doing this gives me much better spatial awareness and helps me to find the mag well without issue 99% of the time. Basically making a circle with one hand (gripping the gun) and poking the index finger of the other hand into the circle. If you're having trouble shifting focus to the mag well in order to "look the mag into the gun", I've seen some guys paint the inside of the magwell (a white dot, stripe, etc.) so that they have something to draw their eyes in and help them focus.
  3. Yes, Glock 34/35 for competition and Glock 17/19/26 for concealed carry.
  4. Do you already lift weights? If so, use Fat Grips for curls, shrugs, or anything that typically blasts your forearms anyway. I also find that kettlebell routines help build grip strength.
  5. I am just getting back into practical shooting (IDPA and USPSA) a little after being out of the game for a couple years. I recognize a few of you guys from AR15.com (I'm TheJeanyus over there), and that is actually where I heard about this site. Lots of great information and discussion here, so I finally joined up.
  6. That would be my suggestion as well. Carries well with a good belt and holster, but also nice to shoot all day. Reasonably priced. Parts, mags, and other accessories are cheap and easy to find, Upgrade the sights and maybe the trigger and it'll be a fine carry gun as well as well suited for USPSA Production or IDPA SSP.
  7. Shoot whichever gun you enjoy shooting in whichever division you enjoy most. Worry more about your mental focus and seeing things quickly and aggressively rather than chasing the "perfect" gun (or any other piece of gear). I'm just getting back into it myself. Personally I hate 10 round mags and reloading constantly, and I happen to have a Glock 35...so Limited Major it is.
  8. I am a complete noob to the game, but I try to dry fire anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour at a time 3-4 times per week. Mostly just depends on how much my wife can stand to listen to that particular night... I also do some dry fire in between live fire strings at the range, mainly to work on trigger control. If I feel I'm starting to get sloppy on the trigger and/or anticipate recoil, I'll stop and dry fire for 5-10 minutes to settle myself down. Since I started doing that, I notice that I can shoot more and more live fire without needing to dry fire to refocus myself. My goal is that when doing practice live fire I don't "program" any bad habits. If something gets out of line, I stop and address it.
