  2. After I got up enough nerve to dissemble my new baby it turns out that the finger of the sear spring that rests on the sear had slid to the side and off the the sear. Once I realigned the sear spring and buttoned everything back up this seems to clear everything back up. Hope it lasts. Thanks for all the help and suggestion guys.
  3. My man. Ya got to keep the gold barrel. Goes well with this https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=picture+of+pimp+mobile&view=detailv2&&id=501D0382E1CE19265523127C03E1FFF505F3DDB2&selectedIndex=84&ccid=eShdAkY5&simid=608054850793506151&thid=OIP.M79285d0246391afa58f92a035041c19eo0&ajaxhist=0 And this :-) https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=picture+of+pimps+hat&view=detailv2&&id=A575CFFCF615151D3296D740EEE3365A173EC655&selectedIndex=34&ccid=GW9VAwQB&simid=608032873431957904&thid=OIP.M196f55030401134dacdbe586d9530caeo0&ajaxhist=0
  4. New gun. Slide comes back during live fire, then returns and hammer follows slide forward. Can't shoot follow up shot as can't even get the hammer to manually lock back.
  5. Just picked up an STI DVC open gun in 38 Super and for some reason the hammer won't lock back after every shot even though it will most of the time when hand cycling it. Am shooting 38 Super Comp ammo at a PF of approx. 170 and still no luck. Breaks my heart. Any ideas ? Ever hear of this problem with the DVC ? Thanks in advance
  6. Anybody run Allaint "Blue Dot" powder in their 38 Super Comp gun ? Looks like it has close to the same burn rate as the Vihtavuori 3N38 http://www.alliantpowder.com/products/powder/blue_dot.aspx http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/powderlist.aspx?page=/reloaders/powderlist.aspx&type=1&powderid=10&cartridge=25 http://www.lapua.com/upload/reloading/reloadingburningratechart2011.pdf
  7. These look about right ? http://montanagoldbullet.com/index.php/1000ct/38-125gr-jhp.html https://www.starlinebrass.com/brass-cases/38-Super-Comp-Brass/ https://www.midwayusa.com/product/619134/redding-competition-pro-series-carbide-3-die-set-38-super
  8. Just picked up an STI DVC Open in 38 Super and will be loading it for 38 super comp. I don't have any experience with super comp so what is the best setup for loading with a Dillon 650 ? Brass ? Bullets ? Powder ? Dies ? Load ? OAL ? Etc. Thanks in advance
  9. Please pardon this question as I am somewhat new to the 38 super caliber but what would it take to convert an STI DVC 38 super gun to shoot 38 super comp ? Thanks in advance
  10. I'm having the same problem right now. Driving me crazy. Will take a look at the striker this afternoon.
  11. All right. We all know by now that John Wick had a comp on his P-30 but my question is who actually manufactures them for the P-30 or even better the VP9 ? Any ideas ? Thanks in advance
  12. I have tons of rifle reloading equipment (best of the best) but am getting ready to start hand loading pistol ammo. Will probably be mostly 9mm minor and major. So what equipment do I need ? I figure on going with a Dillon 650 press but what extras/options on the press do I need ? I work on a range and figure on shooting 500-750 rounds a week. Thanks in advance
  13. Curious to hear from people regarding the size of the RMR for an open gun. Is the sight window too small ?
  14. Is the Trijicon RMR too small to be used effectively on an open gun ?
  15. Funny - I was just going to post to see what peoples opinion of the DVC is and I ran into this thread. I'm having serious thoughts about not ordering one now.
  16. HK VP9, Kydex holster, 5-11 type vest, 21 ft, no points down = 1.2 sec Most shooting academies will try and get their students down to 1.5 sec with one shot and with cover before they graduate Same setup as above except without cover mozambique at 21 ft. = 1.5 - 1.6 sec. It also depends on how you clear your cover garment. I clear my vest by pulling left on the back of the vest with my left hand.
  17. So what you all are essentially saying is that the guys that can out shoot everyone here with both hands tied behind their back, while hopping up and down on one foot and blindfolded cheated ? Is that what you are saying ?
  18. Is there a listing or publication somewhere that would list the times and or scores that one should shoot for for each stage of the qualifier for expert or master rating ? Example - It looks like experts can shoot the stage one Mogadishu at around 1.7 sec. with no points down and a master should be able to complete the same stage at around 1.5 sec. with no points down. Anything listed anywhere for all the other stages to give me something to shoot for in my practice sessions ? Thanks in advance.
  19. I have approx. 1000 rounds on my new S&W M&P C.O.R.E ported model with a Trijicon RMR 06 mounted on it and have had no mechanical or optical problems so far. I'm a chief RSO on a high volume pistol range and am on a range 40 hours a week and shoot 6 days a week. The only thing I would suggest you check out before you commit to the Trijicon RMR is the sight window size compared to the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and the C-More sights. The Trijicon window is quite small in comparison. Will take a while to get used to. Here are the web pages for your reference http://www.leupold.com/tactical/scopes/deltapoint-reflex-sights/deltapoint-pro/ http://cmore.com/sights.html http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=RMR The biggest sight window out there is the C-More slide ride which is like looking thru a picture window. Waaaaaaaay easier to acquire the target. Unfortunately they don't mount too well on the slides of most polymer guns.
  20. Do I have to wear one of those hats with all the fishing lures hanging all over it too ? :-) Ok, you asked for it! No, those fishing hats are hideous, but if you really want to be a IDPA Fashinista, then this is the IN look.... And don't forget your conceal carry pack. No question about it. The leather chaps will really make a fashion statement. I'm hearing YMCA, ya got to stay at the YMCA :-)
  21. Do I have to wear one of those hats with all the fishing lures hanging all over it too ? :-)
  22. I'm getting ready to shoot my 1st IDPA match in a few weeks and am trying to get all the necessary equipment ready. So what is the best vest for IDPA shooting ? What does everybody use ? Thanks in advance
  23. ZZt is right. I had to do the same thing. You also have to drill a hole in the front of the pouch for allen wrench access to the screw.
  24. Used my 014 for the first time two weeks ago. First draw of the competition saw the barrel retention nipple break off and go flying. Not exactly what I expected from a $200 holster... Got my DAA Racemaster holster and like you - the retention nipple stripped out and fell off the 1st day I had it. Not good. Love the holster though so will figure out a solution.
