  1. on my new shadow 2 i am doing some load testing, there are times i am getting erratic groups and i know its my vision, so what i am thinking of some type of a acc rail mount, anyone been down that road and possible suggest a mount that will do the job. chet
  2. i have tried a few 147gr flat point bullets, trying to find the one that i can load the longest, so far the SNS 147 is the longest i can load at 1.140 for my shadow 2, next is DG bullets 147gr similar to the SNS, but can only load to at 1.105, brazo 147rn load at 1.125, the jacketed RMR 147gr fp loads at 1.065, has anyone been down this road, any suggestions of any 147's that will load longer than the SNS 147gr FP. chet
  3. well i will get my grandson practicing , he only shot it once, and also first time firing a 9mm pistol,, i shoot the canik and shadow 2 much tighter on paper at 25yds
  4. judo i have to say that those glocks are not what you would call out of the box, i have a few glocks and my shadow 2 and canik tp9sfx will get tighter groups off of a rest, i sure would like to know how to get my glock 17 to shoot better, my grandson would like to try the uspsa steel challenge with it.
  5. hi rap i have a new tp9sfx also, with approx3k trhu the shadow2 and the canik, i can only dream that the shadow 2 will shoot as good as my canik, i am all geared up to shoot he shadow this weekend at my first uspsa steel challenge. my canik likes the 124 with 3.9 titegroup. chet
  6. a few weeks ago i installed a white recoil spring from cajun gum works in place of the stock one, i notice it is a little easier to rack the slide, do changing recoil springs effect accuracy chet
  7. after a few weeks of shooting on paper at 25yds off of a rest, i cannot get the accuracy of sport pistol that i get with titegroup, i know i can just shoot titegroup and move on, but i really want to get this sport pistol to shoot, hope to get some input that i might have missed, my best accurate load at 25yds is right at 2in or a tad under on some groups and that load is 3.2 titegroup with the sns 147gr coated flat point at 1.125 oal, i have tried 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 of sport pistol same bullet and oal, cannot get the group better than 3"., i did not run them thru a chrony yet. the gun is a new shadow 2 any ideas chet
  8. to stay legal in an upcoming uspsa steel challenge, what are my buddys options to get back on target, he was thinking a adj rear sight. his poi is around 4" high at 23yds chet
  9. ho joe4d i agree 100% with you, i am not quite at that level, it must feel good to be at that level, i am practicing about 3 days a week, i am getting confidence. the way Max pounds them is incredible. you do make a good point.
  10. i wear a behind the ear aid, curious if shooters in my shoes have found a pair of hearing protection to hear the hit on steel challenge shoots chet
  11. ... normally i practice more with the shadow 2, and i do agree it is one fine gun, i am liking it the more i shoot it, off the rest shooting paper it is almost as accurate as my Canik TP9SFX, but off hand shooting the shadow 2 is preferred
  12. hi Gerald i appreciate your reply, i am currently going to try uspsa steel challenge with the da/sa shadow 2, rather than convert it to a single action, would the cz TSO be any more accurate. which is a single action only. i also have a CZ 75B SA which shoots ok, not at the shadow level. chet
  13. i am currently shooting a new Shadow 2, i want to go to the next level of performance handguns, been reading about the 2011 type pistols. just for mainly having fun at the range and maybe a few steel challenge shoots. what are common popular 2011 pistols available over the counter, not a custom, brands, models suggestions chet
  14. sorry, i should have mentioned, we will be shooting production, chet
  15. question, this will be the first uspsa steel challenge match coming on in july 6, question i have is me and my my buddy both have cz shadow2 single and double action guns, when i am at the stage i am holstered, loaded, should the hammer be down or cocked and on safe chet
  16. i never heard of them, i just checked them out, in fact a nice article in this months American Rifleman. just should have made it optic ready, by looking at it, does it seem to be a high bore axis. chet
  17. my buddy has a Sig X5 i have shot it, it's ok the trigger is so so, he then did an aftermarket trigger, it was nice to shoot, a little pricey after the trigger was done, he then tried a Canik TP9SFX and i shot it, more accurate by a small margin than the x5, i shoot a CZ shadow 2 with a few mods, so i went a purchased a Canik, recoil spring a little stiff, called Canik and they sent me a lighter captured spring set up no charge, shoots a tad tighter than my shadow 2. Canik has something good with the that TP9SFX gun, it is sort of big for my wife's hands, she did shoot a few shots, and she actually shoots it better than her Walthers PPQ. chet
  18. thank you, might try 3.3 of SP accuracy is slightly better with TG, hoping to get there with SP chet
  19. curious if anyone ever chronographed 3.2 SP vs 3.2 TG in a 147gr 9mm, i have been loading both with good results, since i don't have a chrony, wonder if there is much difference in fps. chet
  20. i made a few front rest over the years, curious what shooters find the best shape for a top, flat across, sort of v shaped and material wise, small sand bag, leather covered hard felt, looking for some idea what shape and material used in a top that seems to work best, i tried both v shaped and a flat type, hard to decide. any links or pics that i may have missed. chet

    gun size

hi DK i did make a size on paper, don't fit, only way it will fit, if i get different mag bases, if they are available, the mags that come with the gun have plus 2 bases. chet
  25. if i am reading the rules correctly for USPSA competition, my canik TP9SFX won't fit in the regulation size frame, it will without the mag but it's about 1/8 to long from bottom of grip to the top of the rear sight. chet
