Oh I think I follow you. I have my targets as far apart as I can one on either side of my family room about 24'. And as soon as I squeeze the second shot move my eyes and as I am resetting trigger drive with my weak hand to next target. Is that correct thinking???

Thanks Steve! I truly appreciate all your help you have been giving me! Right now I have my eyes on a Witness Match or a 92. Got to shoot both of these over the past week and let me say WOW! I truly am liking the weight of a metal frame over the polymer. I seem to have a lot more control. I am leaning towards a 92 though as it felt more comfortable in my hand. Though I know EVERYONE is going to tell me go for the Tanfoglio lol. But, I never liked follow the leader I always found what works for me and made it the best I could!To training: got Ben's books this week and things are making so much more sense on all fronts! I understand why I am doing certain drills now. Live fire training: At the range the guy shooting next to me thought I was nuts! I was slow firing into the backstop guess what I was doing????? Trying to follow my sights. He watched me empty my 19 over 6 mags and when I turned around he was laughing. Then I explained what I was doing and it was a light bulb went off in his head lol. Got to shoot a "stage" this past weekend as I was invited into a private range and I had a blast. Transitions are still turtle slow but I could see my sights most of the time. Dry Practice: Took a break and only dry Practiced twice this week along with 2 days at the range. But, I spend almost all my time trying to work drills on transitions. This is driving me nuts as I can't seem to gain speed. Trying to shoot 2 and as soon as the second shot breaks get my eyes to the next target and allow the sights to follow. But, it doesn't seem to be working! Everytime I can honestly say the first shot would have been a C or a D!! HELP please!

Well a little update on my training. I have been going hard on my dry fire doing about an hour a day maybe more 6 days a week. I am a religious person so Sunday's are my day of rest. Got my draw down to a .8 par time (really excited about this) Reloads are finally being done properly need to work on speed (I see a ton of Burkett drills in the near future) Transitions are still going slow and I mean turtle slow!!! Ordered all of Ben's books off of amazon just waiting for them to come in. Can't wait for them. I need more drills to do cause following Steve's book (although a great book in itself) gets truly boring and I think it is making me complacent with just doing the drills. I know I need to push harder. A bit frustrated cause my par times aren't dropping like they were before [emoji15] I am assuming it is like any other learned skill it has its peaks and valleys. Will do another video here soon as soon as I get a new camera or phone

I run a Glock 19 in production division. With that said I was given a brand new 5" 9mm LoneWolf barrel for some work I did for a gentleman. I am assuming I couldn't use it and stay in production but could I use it and move to minor Limited? Just was thinking I could run to different divisions with a change of barrel and adding a magwell. So is it legal to have the barrel stick out past the end of the slide like that? I know the limitations of both the 19 in competition and also running limited as minor but I got to shoot what I got until the boss(wife) allows me to get a Witness or a 34

I would say drills IMHO just because steel challenge is not really anything like USPSA. Standing in one spot shooting 5 targets don't happen much. But, who do I know I am new also

I was thinking of production but everyone I talk to suggests I go limited. With a 34 and the extra rounds it would be cool to not have to reload 3-4 times a stage lolol. Plus throw a few magazine extensions on there would help a lot also. Thank you for the advice friend

Actually the 19 has retired from carry since I inherited my fathers 26. But thank you for the information I truly appreciate it! I think I will lean this way also Once I do get finances together for a better pistol to use I believe I will go with the 34. What can I say I love shooting a Glock. This is the gun I learned how to shoot on and a 1911/2011 feels uncomfortable in my hand. (But don't tell anyone I like an EAA Witness a ton also shhhhhh though) lol I have several guns that are just taking up space in the vault so I honestly was think of trading in some and get myself a 34. Can't part with my 19 she is the 4th love of my life behind my wife my kids and my mom. Glock 34 is he way to go. Let me know when you're ready to transition, and I'll work with you on getting it tricked out and ready to shoot in competitions on a budget. Also got Matt Burkett's video given to me and been watching that.

What I was meaning by new equipment I am speaking of an off set. Something to move my holster away from my body a bit. My actual holster needs replaced cause technically it is broke. It is a Blackhawk with a thumb release well the thumb release broke off. It still retains but is broke. What holster would be good? Was thinking of staying in production for the time being until I see how well I progress. I was thinking of getting the one holster set over at Ben Stoegers sight https://www.benstoegerproshop.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=Boss-Kit would this be good for production? Others are telling me to go to limited and just buy 17 or 34 mags but I am unsure I want to go that way. I got a pm telling me about the 17L they suggested the 34. Maybe new sights would work better for me as I am still using Glock OEM sights What ones would you all suggest? But, then again limited is so tempting as I can adjust the frame to fit my smallish hands, not have to reload as much with bigger mags. As you see I am very conflicted!! I shot not shit SHOT blue bullets this weekend for the first time. They were great! But, they left some funky residue in my Glock but threw a brush through it and nice and shinty again. Will I buy these again h*ll yea I loved them!

Shot my first ever match yesterday. Let me say this I see where I need a TON of practice on and possibly some better equipment. Some self observations I have about my performance: 1) I need to slow down and take a deep breath. I am no world class shooter so quit acting like you can shoot like one!!! 2) keep your emotions in check! I was thrown off my game when I got "stung" from a piece of steel in a VERY sensitive area on the male body. And performed lousy after that! Including a DQ 3) Equipment wise I need to get my holster away from my body. All I have is my conceal carry holster and well that isn't going to fly! I don't know how many times I drew and grabbed some of my spare tire and pinched myself! What is that piece called that I saw the other production competitors using? It extended the holster about an inch and a half away from the body? My mag holsters are great for IDPA but I need to perform better reloads so the A class shooter that was helping me showed me some mag holsters that are adjustable so I need to get me some!!!lol And lastly my pistol! I think I need to get a longer slide I love my Glock 19 but I was told with s full size pistol such as the 34 and 17L I would be able to hit those long range shots more consistently. Is that true? I am thinking of looking into a EAA Witness or even the 34 not sure which to go with. All I know is if and when I change my pistol it is going to have to be one I love cause I can't afford anything more lol 4) I need to practice my long range shooting! 7-10 yards I did awesome! But after that I stunk up the joint and I mean I stunk it up!!!! I need to find a range that is further that 30 feet!!? And one that will let me practice from the holster. I learned today that there is a winter action shoot league at a range about 45 minutes from me on Mondays evenings so I might go and check that out for some practice. And also one of the local clubs on Wednesdays set up stages through out the winter at their indoor ranges well this local club is about an hour from me. So I will go there and shoot also weather permitting of course! Lastly I had a blast even dqing on the second to last string on the last stage because I was mad at myself! Lesson learned now I will NEVER do that again!!! So practice harder, smarter and I see where I need to greatly improve! Oh one thing that happened while shooting a stage which I am proud of: for the first time I was able to track my sights while shooting! I could actually follow it up and right back into the sight picture! That is a major accomplishment for me!!!
