What issues did you have with the stock?

Since 22's are so dirty, having to unbolt everything to take it down to really clean the gun was/is a pain.

Just to clarify, this comment is in reference to the wiland chassis , not the Blackhawk axiom stock. I wanted a bit more adjustability in the length of pull and grip, and all of the "Kool Kids" were using it so that is why I changed . The Blackhawk was ok to use and to clean and was light weight.

I'd actually think it would be cool to remove all restrictions in Revolver Division.

I tend to agree with you on this and I was not thinking that they allow dots in revo, but was hoping that it might be allowed in L10 so that while I'm shooting my revo in USPSA with a dot that I had another place other than in Open with the big dogs. But I guess that's just how it will have to be for now. When you ran the poll here earlier I was in favor of it then also

  3. With me and my pea brain, I really struggled trying to shoot a dot, irons were easier and faster. I forced myself to use only the dot, and got much better. The main thing that I found was the hand position while shooting irons is 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch higher. Then with a dot I had to focus on dropping my hand to find the dot quickly. That worked for me then I switched to using on of the 90 degree mounts from Allchin and it brought things closer to being the same that I can actually shoot both now but I find I am better with the dot with my old eyes now.

  4. This question will not apply to most of you guys and gals out there, and I might have missed seeing the answer to my question, but did any of the recent changes or provisional divisions allow one to use a red dot on a revolver in anything other than open? I seem to recall a bit of discusion about that or I maybe confusing it with a L10 optic discusion.

You are referring to the factory X frame grip that comes on the 460 and 500's for anyone wondering and wanting one.  They do come with finger grooves which grind off easily with a bench grinder....

You can also order them specifically without them, they do alot of custom work.

yeh if nothing else to try the game out. Doing my due diligence with the rules, cant see how you would run a stage without loaders , I have some loaders on the way, and found my old 646 idpa holster that fits the 617 well enough, will dig for holders. Be off month of april , see what happens

You may want to try Johnson Precision Mag Racks, I use the DS10 speed loaders and super glued a small washer to the face and they work great with the magnets and don't interfere with anything.

Every revo I own has some version of the Tamer.   T he Big Butts do not work for me :  my hand doesn't fit well between the trigger guard and the butt.  The only downside is the compression of the backstrap material allows for a little gun movement.  The trigger reach and recoil dampening where worth the trade off to me.  YMMV

    Jason

Jason, I'm sure that you know that Pat can make them in different lengths from the trigger to the "butt", he sizes them to your hand.

The 617 grip feels like a J frame grip. That's my next grip to change over

I use a Hogue big butt called the tamer, it works on k,l,n and x frames and you can get it with or without finger grooves. I have large hands and these really work for me.

I am going to exchange the clips for the std ones. Thanks for the help everyone.

One more thing while I have you all, As far as mounting stuff on my belt, I assume the thing to do is to make the mating end of the belt be on my left side, so that I can mount the rack in front and holster on my right side?

Seems like the thing to do, just want to make sure.

Not that my way is any better, but I connect mine in the back, holster on right and server  is in the middle going to the left side. I can add a single or a dump pouch that way and it's easy to hookup.

  10. I have found on mine ,that all of the grip screws are not the same length, some are much longer than others. They tend to match that specific grip, some of my big butts have more wood. Some of the non Big Butts are even a different thread count and pitch. The stirrups can be a bit different also but several are custom made too.

  11. I have used the HOGUE dump pouch for years for rimfire, I load and then put the speedloader in the pouch, then run string, and then eject everything into my hand and place everything into the dump pouch. I hang it from my belt on my right side. I just fish out the empty speedloaders and load them up for the next stage. I do this for the whole match and then empty it out when I get home and sort out the live from the empties.

Older 15-22's have a different firing pin design from the newer ones. I can't remember how old one of my 15-22's is but when I broke a pin S&W had me send it in and they swapped out the bolt to be able to use the new style pin. If you swapped your pin out and it works you obviously have the newer style. I worked with firingpins.com a few years back to change the design some and we came up with a much more reliable pin. Stay away from the Ti pins as they were just not as good for reliable ignition.

Mine must be of the newer style, I installed a tandemkross firestarter and was able to try it today and everything worked flawless  The firingpins.com is out of stock right now

It's not common, but it does happen on higher round count 15-22's especially with some aftermarket triggers.  The AR trigger system is designed to hit the firing pin hard enough to set off military hard small rifle primers.  The 15-22 doesn't seem to be as bad about breaking firing pins as the CMMG .22lr conversions.

You can get better aftermarket firing pins from Bore Buddy $26.50 First class USPS w/insurance $5.95 +tax  I have one in one of my 15-22's.

I also have the steel version in another 15-22 from FiringPins.com $22.00 for the steel $27.00 for the TI $4.00 First class USPS no insurance +tax.  I haven't used the TI.

    https://www.firingpins.com/m-p-15-22-titanium-firing-pin

I have not used the TandemKross.  $27.99 USPS standard $5.99 +tax.

Thanks Nolan, I had a tandemkross at the house and I already swapped it out. I suppose I will order another for a spare. I guess I can"t really complain, I have 50k+ through this one using a CMC trigger. I just haven't seen anyone else that is running a 15-22 break one.

  14. I have seen quite a few PCC's break their firing pins, but I didn't think that a rimfire would have enough stress or force to have this happen. Today at a match mine broke on my m&p15-22, now it has had a lot of rounds through it so I guess normal wear and tear would be expected eventually  So I was wondering if any of you have had this happen and was it a one time thing or have you had multiple firing pin failures.

Just curious because I think I may have missed this - what division is making 625s relevant again? Is this in ICORE?

    Thanks,

To many people poo pooing the outlaw matches we have been having out here, It's called Heavy Metal Division, requires a six shot, iron sights .40 cal or larger, and major power factor 165PF. It has been run as a side match if you will. But it seems that many still look down their nose at anything not "officially" approved. All I can say is they are missing out on a lot of fun.

I just scored a pair of 627s with 2 5/8” barrels. They would make fantastic icore snub guns. Still heavy with that unfluted cylinder they’re like shooting regular 627s.

They probably would, but official Icore snub can't be more than a 6 shot I just looked. Still wouldn't mind having one though.
