Just spitballing here but if the shell plate was not tight would that not affect all stations in a similar manor? If I am interpreting the op correctly its only station 2 thats affected. Not necessarily, if he were only loading one round at a time. As far as I understand from dillon is that all stations need to be occupied to get most accurate loading due to possible movements in shell plate. I've tested this theory and it's true to and extent. But only maybe .002"+/- if single loading rounds. That's why I thought to check the powder die or funnel. I had a 45 ACP funnel that was giving me crap. And come to find out the funnel had debris stuck to it cause case issues I'm guessing it was old powder that had gotten caked on it.

So I've loaded for a few years now on my 550 and think I'm ready to upgrade to a 650. Any pros and cons to doing so. My main appeal to the 640 is case feeder and auto indexing. But are they really worth it. I know I can get a case feeder for my 500 but auto indexing is a plus.

This is exactly what I think is wrong with mine. Guy today said it can't be and told me it was just the rod and was going to send me a new one. But the slop in the housing is worse from what it originally was.

If your not going to use that cover would you mind if I have it. I could possibly make another on my mill if I have dimensions I could make a cad drawing and mill a new one for you. Can't make any guarantees but it'd be worth a try at least to play with and experiment

I just bought a set of hornady 45-70 dies. They work great in my 550. Had to adjust a little more to get exact since the seat crimp dies are one but everything else was fine. Size deprime die is cool wish Dillion's was like that but they work just like any other die

I polish the funnel and my powder drop bottoms so I have to issues with sticking powder. Works like a charm

I sort for convince. On my ss it's just faster in my opinion when your trying to swage 2-3k of brass. If it's sorted by head stamp you just adjust once and go at it I've rigged up a rubber band trick from someone else's idea that will retract the post every upswing Genius idea makes it a lot faster process.

I have a Christmas light timer I use. Usually set for 4 hours daily. So by the time I get around to removing they're shiny as can be
