Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I struggled a bit when I switched from Glock to CZ - with the Glock I would take the slack out and then roll through the trigger and I kept trying to do something similar with the DA - it doesn't work you've got to just roll right through it. I would do a lot of blank wall type dryfire drills and try to make sure that you aren't getting into the trap of pulling the trigger really slowly, I know that if I'm practicing pure trigger control I have to consciously be aware of how fast I'm pulling the trigger and try to do it at match speed.
  2. When I shot Glocks I always used my SH thumb, but I can't reach my CZ or 1911 easily and so have switched to the left hand - which I really feel like is faster for me. I can drop the slide as I build my grip on the way back out to extension.
  3. I'm fine either way, but if it's an equal choice I'll usually go R to L, being cross-dominant and right handed it just works better for me.

    Sight Bite

Me too - I also like the "tactical" sights on the rear b/c the corners are clipped.
  5. It was like buying skill for me. The harder, longer shots are easier with the CZ for me. The close up stuff is about the same. Manipulations are about the same.
  6. I had CGW mill a Shadow hammer for my 75BD, no idea if they can do that for a P-09 but it's probably worth a phone call
  7. So, which primers are you supposed to use if not small rifle?
  8. That's a double edge sword though, I've got many years worth of rifle powder even if I do let go of some of it.
  9. Yes, and quickly became overwhelmed. It seems like I can use most powders for 1 or more of the calibers I'd like to load. But really I'd rather start working stuff up from a smaller pool of choices. Also, if I can put a dent in my ammo cost for the next year by unloading some of the stuff locally I won't mind doing that at all.
  10. Any thoughts on N140 or N133?
  11. I recently came into a bunch of reloading supplies (uncle passed away) and I'm trying to decide what to do with it all. I've been loading pistol for years but haven't done any rifle reloading. I plan on setting up to reload .223, 7mm-08, 6.5G, and maybe .270. My uncle was a bit of a tinkerer and possibly a compulsive buyer in his later years so I have a bunch of different powders. Given the current situation, I would like to consolidate to a few powders that will be good for loading those rounds and find a good home for the rest. If you had to pick 2 or 3 of the following to load .223, 7mm-08, and 6.5G which would you choose? V.V. Cz75 carry?

I'll probably end up with PCR eventually, I really don't have too much trouble with the 75BD but smaller and lighter is nice - of course the j frame in the pocket works well during the summer too...
  13. It depends. Sometimes single attachment holsters do fine for smaller lighter guns - usually you'll be better off with pull the dot snaps on loops. The biggest issue I would have with that holster is the thumb snap - that's a lot going on in a concealed draw. Concealed holsters are pretty personal and depend a lot on gun type, body type, and personal preference. Good luck, there is a reason that folks end up with a box of concealment holsters.
  14. What is on the end of the one from ebay? Is it padded at all?
  15. This is pure spitballing and conjecture here: Is it possible that you are inducing a slight amount of left twist when pulling the trigger and then your grip is immediately going back to neutral? If so, then it's possible that since the 147s stay in barrel just a little longer (why they usually hit higher) that you've allowed the gun to move just a little bit back to the right by the time it leaves the barrel. That might be totally crazy, but it was something that popped into my head when reading.
