  1. I understand the slides are different, I'm questioning if the barrels really are or not. I'm fairly certain they are different lengths.
  2. A limited pro should work for you, and I've seen a few of them on gunbroker recently.
  3. The 9mm longslide conversion is now listed at $589. That is a completely ridiculous price increase. I'm seriously about sick of dealing with this company. I can buy a 9mm match for that price.
  4. Be careful when ordering the firing pin from Eric. He actually has two "xtreme" firing pins. The xtreme 2.0 does not work with the firing pin block.
  5. I can't imagine that the return spring you had in the gun was working very well - or at all. If you're using a factory SAO trigger, you have to make sure you are using the trigger return spring from an SAO pistol. If you use an SA/DA spring, it will bind up on you pretty badly. There's a recent thread on this in the forum here. The spring that was in your gun was modified by someone, they cut part of the leg off so that it would fit in the sao trigger.
  6. Excellent point. Everyone knows that when mecgar stamps "CZ" on the mag, the dimensions change. Remember to only use the Tanfoglio manufactured mags in your Tanfoglio! Anyway, after the rude response, Cha-Lee gave you good advice. It's probably an issue with the release itself.
  7. A lot of work? Compared to "optimizing the surface and angles of the existing parts?" "Two quick cuts and drop in a ball" sounds much easier to me...
  8. Sure, it's near 99% humidity here right now, and it rained for two months straight, and it will be snowing soon, but I have 17 round mags!
  9. Put some loctite in there. Blue or red. Mine ended up loose after I dimpled the slide as well. I just squirted some loctite on the sight and slid it back in. No movement at all. I used blue, but red will likely work just as well. It's not like you need to remove the sight for anything.
  10. That's interesting , did EAA tell you that? IFG has the same address and same phone number as EAA... Yeah - who told you to talk to IFG? Both EAA and Tanfoglio in Italy told me that IFG has ceased operations. Also... I looked up the LLC registration docs with the Florida Dept. of State, and the two principals for IFG were the president of EAA (can't recall his name at the moment) and the "gunsmith" at EAA - Paul something or other. . So, yeah. I'm not sure why IFG ever existed in the first place. Probably for the benefit of the other three Italian gun manufacturers. Maybe they weren't happy with the job EAA was doing and they killed it.
  11. They really are nice grips. I don't even know that I care to find a small frame pistol now. Although I'm still looking... anyone with a small frame Stock II or III? Or Limited? Let me know!
  12. I'll do it. Hearing me, Massimo Tanfoglio? Let's break that contract!
  13. Hi everyone, My new grips showed up today, direct from France. I placed my order on the 23rd, the order shipped on the 26th, and I received the grips today, the 5th. So shipping time was pretty decent. The grips are really, really nice. And really, really narrow. If you want to know how narrow they are, take your factory grips off. That's pretty close. They're nice and grippy with sharp (but not too sharp) checkering. I do kind of think that I should have bought the black ones, but the silver might grow on me. Anyway, here are the pics:
  14. Hi everyone, I've started introducing my 10 year old daughter to shooting handguns (she's been shooting a rifle for a few years now). The range isn't too far from my house, but I'd like her to practice at home as well. I thought an airsoft pistol would be a good option, but I'm not sure what to buy. She was shooting a Walther p22, a Sig Mosquito, and a Beretta 87. She preferred the mosquito. Anyone have any recommendations? I was something realistic that functions like an actual firearm.
  15. Oh, so it's just the regular longslide, not the match slide.
  16. Interesting - so it was the same price as a normal longslide upper... I wonder if it will show up with the supersight or the other sight they have been putting on the Match pistols... ?
  17. What did the match conversion cost?
  18. Interesting. Around a half ounce difference between the 9mm and .40 barrel. Really big difference between the 9mm and .45. Now we just need to know the weight of the mag without the spacer.
  19. Maybe a small diamond file. Or sandpaper on a ruler or something. They do sell small stones for this purpose, as well.
  20. Agreed. A sticky with all the actual specs would be very useful.
  21. Reading on Brownells that seemed like the thing to do. But when I looked on youtube for videos of people doing this, they were lapping a new slide to a new frame by putting the compound on the rails and then running the slide in the frame until it no longer bound. I would assume this would cause the frame to slide fit of the .40 cal upper that is stock with my gun to become more loose no? Lapping compound will likely loosen up the fit with your original slide. I'd recommend getting some layout fluid and marking the slide, find out where it's binding and adjust the fit by stoning the slide only.
  22. The 9mm barrel weighs 4.5 oz. Someone needs to weigh some of the other calibers!
  23. I'm still surprised that your pistol weighs 42.4 oz. - have you ever weighed your mags? Are you sure the scale is accurate? I've weighed a 9mm match with the rail, and it weighed over 44 oz. - I think 44.3 oz.
