  1. I wonder why clubs don’t shoot that stage? ?
  2. Their designed to work with factory ammo but I’ve heard of people running Major PF through them.
  3. @edyan I believe that rule has been changed to 3 seconds per string. I’m turning 45 at the end of the month and have a disease causing nerve issues making it unsafe for me to move on this stage. I’ve taken the entire last year off while the discussion of removing the movement discussion has gone on. It isn’t going anywhere so now your a participant in Steel Challenge as well. I’ve decided not to renew my USPSA membership until I can safely move through this stage.
  4. I’ve been told for steel challenge, open gun, that fast burning powders and light bullets were key. I’ve also been told heavier bullets with slower powders to work the comp. what’s your opinion? Your go to reload?
  5. Is this running a 4” recoil system as well or was this a 5” cut down?
  6. I’m just curious if this is a USPSA open gun or a Steel Challenge, minor PF style gun?
  7. I’ve shot both. I’m currently in a McLearn Custom 2011. I was just curious what everyone else’s opinions were.
  8. And which do you shoot? I’m just trying to get a conversation started.
  9. 1911 vs 2011 for Steel Challenge Your opinions and why? Go!
  10. I sold this cool little 1911 steel shooter on this forum 3 years ago. I wonder if it still exists?
  11. http://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/uspsa/SCSA-PST-changes.pdf
  12. This would be for steel challenge.
  13. I hadn’t read this and misunderstood what you were asking. My apologies.
  14. This may be in response to the ongoing conversation about handicap/disabled individuals choosing to shoot the course of fire from the center box only for obvious reasons. Time assessments have been discussed at great lengths. I guess the USPSA has decided to drop 3 added seconds on those unable to transition safely.
  15. Yes, less then 5” and I should have stated an “Open Division” gun
  16. Has anyone owned, built or seen a single stack shorty?
  17. Hey you are close to me. I’m on the other side of Bensalem.
  18. Seems as more and more the matches are highly populated by rimfire shooters. Not that this is a bad thing at all but for me, and my personal health issues, rimfire would be a much easier, and less expensive, way to compete. Specialized open race guns for steel challenge are expensive. ?
  19. I’m using a custom 2011 built by McLearn Custom Guns 9mm. It can actually go from open to irons although it’s future may be an open only adjustment. I’m also using a Shield RMS optic.
  20. As open major guns change I can see the theory behind them trickling down to steel gun builds. Long dust covers, shorty slides and aluminum or titanium comps. Putting more weight in the frame and grip and less in the slide will lower the center of gravity.
  21. This was a 100gr Berry’s HBRN over 4.0 grains of TiteGroup out of a 2011 custom open gun with 6# recoil spring.
  22. Custom Open Single Stack for Steel Challenge. Caspian frame, slide and grip safety. EGW firing controls and other parts. Techwear PosiTec G10 grips.
