  1. Another Dawson user here. A couple of my mags can go 20 rounds reloadable, the rest 19.
  2. see this: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189744
  3. If it were me, I wouldn't buy anything, just use a pouch on your belt, like the trapshooters use. It seems like I'm seeing more and more of the duplex loading systems so the racks might be out. Maybe I'll try a set of those one day. Of course, if you can load 1 per second, under pressure, ignore everything I've said
  4. I'm not positive, but it does make me cringe a bit I've only had to carry more than 25 shells once and that was at a fun club shoot. Most times, it's closer to 18, and that's including what's preloaded in your shotgun.
  5. If it's your first time speed loading a shotgun, you can do it from a pouch, You might be able to borrow a couple of racks from someone there. Don't know if it's going to be a sanctioned match, but the match director will probably put up the stages several days ahead, so you'll know the round count. BTW, I wouldn't be calling a shotgun a "shotty"
  6. My hearing is going too. The goal with Steel Challenge is to call your shots. Your eyes should be moving to the next target as soon as you break the shot. I can hear well enough to know when I miss though. What kind of hearing protection are you using? I double plug for centerfire and single for rimfire. BTW, even the best electronic protectors can't recover fast enough to hear the "ring".
  7. It was fixed in the "Handgun Rule Updates" http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/2014%20Rules%20Changes.pdf
  8. I use one on my weak hand (load strong hand) just in case I grab the hot barrel. I do use some spray stick'em on my loading hand though.
  9. Loose in the slot? I would peen and loctite. You've got nothing to lose If that doesn't work, new sights.
  10. What should you try? Sorry, I don't understand your question?
  11. Are these the ones you're looking for? http://www.amazon.com/Safariland-Single-Long-Magazine-Pouch/dp/B003YDA352/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1395868567&sr=1-1&keywords=771-76-121-150
  12. Depends on how much you want them. 773's are a close second place for me
  13. Yes. I suppose, if you're worried about the .040, you could cut the bottom out
  14. I haven't needed the insert in 40, just 9mm and 38 super, sometimes. Just for you Ssanders, I measured a couple of the inserts....they take up between .035 and .045 at the bottom
  15. It doesn't reduce capacity. It's very thin molded plastic. It helps keep the follower from catching on the gap between the base pad and the magazine tube.
  16. These usually solve the problem: http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/category.cfm?cid=1001,2013&PID=fc25l4900rdqps&GID=INS
  17. Have you tried http://store.safariland.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?
  18. After re-reading this thread, maybe having a Open-10 division is the correct answer. Where I live, it's not legal to get new high/standard capacity magazines, yet grandfathered magazines are okay. Open 10 would give a place for new shooters to play without the disadvantage of going against Open big sticks.
  19. No need to do that, just make the classifiers 6 round neutral (thinking revolver division here).
  20. Currently, I use 771's, 773's and CRs. My XD rig has CR's, mainly because I had some laying around that I used for other rigs, been using a Glock lately and I'm cheap. I prefer the 771's with 773's in a close second. As far as I can tell, most manufacturers design their pouches for bullets forward. I don't think I've ever see anyone using the bullet rearward method, but then, we do what works.
  21. Am I correct, your bullets are facing back and the primers forward? If that's true, the Safarilands will work if you get the opposite hand, in other words, if you're right handed, order the left handed version. It won't be ideal since you're doing it the opposite of the intended design. I'd suggest the 773's since they're shorter. The CR holders would probably work the best though. Why don't you try loading with the bullets forward?
  22. If you throw out the reasoning, "to level the playing field" or having magazines that are exempt does not equate to a competitor who's exempted, it becomes easier to understand.
  23. Quietest I've ever had was a molded pair with ProEars Gold. I couldn't even hear the beep.
  24. Dang. All I saw at first was Dawson magwell sale Just bought one for a Glock.
