"PCC tables" are a stupid exception. PCC shooters should be required to use Safe Areas like everyone else. I can unbag my pistol at a berm just as safely as a PCC user, so why do I have to use the safe table?

When you are on deck, go uncase at the Safe Area and come back an wait or do it at Make Ready.

I suppose there are optics and electronics in a laser.

"16. Only carbines fitted with one or more non-magnifying optical/electronic sight(s) may be used in PCC Optics Division."

"Optical/electronic sights" have been defined as any aiming device (including flashlights) fitted to a firearm which use electronic circuitry and/or lenses. So a laser should also fall into this category.

Wish they'd reduce the minimum bullet weight for PCC to 113gr or something, so there's some margin for manufacturing differences for those who run 115gr bullets.

I read a different discussion on the lack of chamber flag specifically --  missing a chamber flag is not a DQ under any of the 10.5.x rules, but should be corrected to comply with 5.2.1.4 (which specifically states that a lack of flag should be resolved under RO supervision). The discussion was regarding how not every rule violation is a DQ offense and that there are other resolutions.

Now, deliberately removing a chamber flag outside of LAMR or a safe area is a DQ under 10.5.1.

in IPSC not having a flag in your PCC (and, i've been told, including when it is bagged) will result in a warning for the first offence, and then a DQ under 10.5.1 (even though 10.5.1 itself does not directly mention flags).

  4. I can't speak for USPSA rules but yes under IPSC the only time your PCC can be pointed horizontally is at a safe area or under RO supervision. I generally unbag at the safe area, turn optics on, and then carry it to the gunrack (if available) while holding it vertically upwards. I've also unbagged it directly at the gunrack, taking care to keep it vertical as soon as the bag is unzipped.

There is no unbagging at the sideberm as in USPSA.

What's done is done I am on IHAVEGAS's team that says things should be left where they are.  15 rounds in Prod will simply blur the lines between Limited and everything else, and maybe this is what is destined to happen.  140mm minor iron sights with no modification limitation.

Between the retro Mustangs trend, fanny packs, front cocking serrations, lack of finger grooves being back in fashion, I think we are naturally going back, which may not be a bad thing.  It's back to a simpler time.

At this rate I can see everything reverting back to 199X with just 3 divisions.

LO will definitely encroach on OPEN very soon when people decide major PF is no longer in style.

    Optics, PCC & everything else.

Open still has a comp and frame mounted optic. If anything, getting rid of major PF might help Open. I'd certainly be far keener on shooting Open if I could just shoot 9mm minor through it.

  6. Unrelated to the Shadow 2, but a person at my club picked up a new CZ TS2 Orange and he seems to have got one with a bad trigger. The reset is far too long for a SAO trigger and longer than another TS2 Orange in the club. Not what you expect when you pay that kind of money for one....

  7. It's very easy to 'cheat' in your dryfire to make your par times. Taking your first example, if you are chasing to do a draw to first shot in 1 second, you could be cheating yourself by drawing with a subpar grip. To test this, you would need to draw and fire a double, or even a bill drill (6 shots). That way, you will know if you're trying to take a shortcut with your draw and trying to shoot with a bad grip. Hope that makes sense

  8. Has anyone received a holster from Lafe in the past few weeks? Just wondering as he hasn't posted any updates on his Instagram page for about 2 months, but hopefully that just means he's focusing on production.

Max mentioned on the SuperVel video of his ammo Video
That he uses the 70locker with the 90%SCS.
The only scs I find with 90% is the one for the AR15 on JPRifle website. (JPSCS-SPRING15-90: 1 side green), is this the one he is using?

Yes, in fact if you watch the tuning video in this thread, you'll see that he recommends getting the AR-15 and AR-10 springs packs so you get the full range of springs to try (80 - 110%)

    Rollerhandle, must have.

    Case feeder, must have imho.

Strongmount, very nice, mind the height(overall height, are you standing or sitting, how tall is the table? If sitting, do you have a chair that lifts up high enough?)

    LED lightning, useful.

Armanov index bearing, nice to have, not really necessary.

Mirror for the case feeder, nice to have, useful if strong mount is used.

Spend primer tube, nice to have.

Armanov zero play toolhead with the according rings for sizing and crimping, hm don't know. I have them, nice. But needed, don't know.

Bullet tray, very useful if you don't use a bullet feeder.

Powder check, can be an insurance. But when using a bullet feeder you are limited. I seat manually with the bullet tray and that's very fast since otherwise the left hand does nothing. I tried the bullet feeder and that's not really faster, at least for me. And with the bullet feeder with powder check you loose the ability to seat and crimp in two stations, which is nice imho.

Then, if you know somebody with a 3d printery, a tool holder, primer tube holder, primer stop and case stop are nice to have. Bullet tray can be 3d printed as well, mine is holding up strong.

That's about all I've installed on my 750...which is in retrospective nearly everything that is available :D

Also I'm rocking the x-ray parts powder dropper.

Very accurate and repeatable powder drops. However, is it 350€ nicer than the Dillon dropper? Don't know...had it prior to the Dillon, so I installed it.

to add onto this, a quick-detach powder measure remover https://www.armanov.com/shop/qrdpc-quick-disconnect-for-dillon-powder-measure-90#attr=

  11. Has anyone here got a short barrel JP-5 (8") and experimented with loads and lock pieces for it? I'm thinking with a short barrel, you can pretty much use USPSA 130pf loads without much risk of the bullet getting stuck in the barrel?

I guess my main question is, with a short barrel, will I need a higher or lower lock piece to get the same performance vs the standard 14.5" barrel?

EDIT: looked at the JP lock pieces page, and they say a shorter barrel should be using a higher angle lock piece as there's less pressure in the system

    Thats ok.

    See 5.2.4.1

That's what I thought, but see Shred's earlier post in this thread where he said if you put the magazine there at Unload and Show Clear, it can bump you to open. I'm very skeptical of this though and can't find the rule to support that.

As I understand the IPSC rules, in IPSC the magnet is considered equal to an actual mag pouch and therefore also needs to be behind the hipbone in production, production optics, standard and classic divisions, regardless of using it or not. Even more, if you structually use the magnet with a mag on it, not only the magnet, but the magnet with the mag on it needs to be behind the hipbone. If it's sticking out and it's detected by the match officials you'll be bumped to open division 🙂 I strongly recommend a magnet, also in these divisions, but make sure it's compliant and behind the hipbone.

What if the magnet is at the limit but you only put a magazine on it after the start signal?

After 6 years of matches with irons, 10ish matches of dot and now back to irons i seem to be able to track the front sight much better now than before working with a dot.. I think the dot taught me to stay target focused while softly tracking the sights / dot.

I've been a long-time production shooter, have switched to optics for a few months and hoping this type of cross-training will help me pick spots on targets faster and just generally improve my vision.
