Had problems knocking down steel with 115 gr. 9mm. Switched over to .40 ( g22-g35 ) 135 gr. Rainers (135 pf). N320/ 4.8-5.0 grs. Steel goes down, .401 catches A,s better. Feels and shoots about the same as 9mm to me. I use this load for: probuction idpa steel challenge PSA (knock down steel) plate racks It is a good all around load for me. I don't buy factory anything. ty-3853

Where do you get the Novak +1 followers? I couldn't find them on the Novak website. I don't think he is doing any work or orders right now. Not returning my calls. He is the only source.

Arredondo on pre-ban .40 mags. With NOVAK +1 followers, gives me 21 in mag 1 in chamber. I don't use it as a reload to hard to seat, just first mag. ty-3853

Use to use dawson adj. . But i am changing over to Seviegny competition. Much better sight picture, deeper, widder, quicker to pick up with OLD eyes. ty-3853

Compared to a DOCTER 7 min, it is half the size, 4 TO 5 MIN, not as bright. Even in the full on position. Not really suitable for shooting STEEL CHALLENGE in the bright sun on white painted steel. IMO not suitable for any serious run and gun competition. That said for the casual shooter,plinker,or INDOOR SHOOTER, It is adequite.Pin matches,2x4,4x4, indoor or outdoor,when shooting from overhangs and shooting bays, it is OK.

The slide release is from BAR-STO PRECISION they don't list it on there web site.

I shoot glocks exclusively, the AA conversion i have never shot reliable enough to count on for 5 to 7 stages of steel challenge. And i have seen another shooter at our steel matches with the same problems. you can use your center fire holster to carry your .22, but all rimfire shooting is done from low ready or touching the table. i use the marvel PRACTICAL because it works and is reliable. ty-3853

I borrowed this idea from a club in CONN. Two plate racks (6) each like at the M vs M handgunner shootoff . Paint the 2 inner plates red or blaze orange. these are the stop plates. plate rack is reset with rope. Stop plates are watched by 2 witnesses. If it is to close to call switch sides and give reshoot, untill there is a definite winner. the shooters names are picked from a hat/box at random. 5 losses and your out.You shoot that bout win or lose your name is put back in another box and drawn again when everybody has shot that round. If a stock gun shooter draws a open gun shooter he starts with gun on bench and only has to knock down 4+ stop plate. while the open gun shooter has to start from surrender and knock down 6 plates. There is no walking to reset plates. Can be painted every 5th or 6th bout. ty-3853

Performance parts are not meant to last 100,000 miles. I know the lightning strike TI striker has a bad rep, but the steel one is better. All the parts i use are proven in competion by me. I carry spares and STOCK parts for myself and anybody that needs them. All the springs i use are replaced regularly just like the pro car racers do. (WE ARE PROS AREN'T WE) I know some of these parts are stretching the relability factor, but it wouldn't be as much fun without a little risk. TY-3853

A 13lb ismi w/3 coils cut off is a good start, they tend to come a little long. If you compress the stock spring and put the rod in a vice, take a long punch or metal rod with a dia. smaller than the hole in the guide rod head. You will be able to punch out the plug holding the spring captive. With the spring out you may also want to try cutting 3 coils off the stock spring first and see how that feels. TY-3853

Thanks for the feed back. I am going to use it for double duty (ipsc/steel challenge). I wanted to know if the pulsing feature made the dot seem brighter when shooting white steel challenge plates in bright sunlight. Has anybody had one go out while shooting a match? And how many total rounds were shoot when this happened? TY-3853

there are two that i find that work best for me. jp enterprise mag release ghost inc. ext. mag release the tear drop shape seems to prevent accidental release. ty-3853

while it is nice to have a dedicated steel gun, you can use your ipsc gun with reduced loads. example, if your maj load is (9.1 gr. of xyz) reduce it to 8.0 gr. what this does is it drops it bellow maj vel. with the same bullet. while this is not and all out steel load, it will still function the gun and use the same zero, and you won't have to change recoil springs. ty-3853
