Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. SDM Front Sight (drilled out to make replacing rod eaiser), JM spring kit and action job, just removed hammer spur and some excess material today. Looks like I could remove more material on hammer (what do ya'll think?). Everything I've done to this gun came from post on this forum. Still need to get someone to polish cylinder holes and chamfer them. ED
  2. I use 5.1 gr N320 with a 230 gr Montana Gold Round Nose and get a 165 PF. It burns clean and I have not had any problems with it except; when I opened a "new" 4lb. bottle of what I thought was N320 and loaded a couple hundred rounds, I could tell I wasn't getting my normal velocity and cylinder and barrel were full of unburnt powder. I figured the bottle was labeled wrong, and this must be N340 or N330, so I opened another bottle of N320 and everything was back to normal. Expensive power to have the wrong label on it........ So I guess we can't always believe what we read.
  3. Found out today that I can get $12.37 for a kidney.....thats almost 4 strain screws....Going to start grinding away on them.
  4. OK......You talked me into it....I'll file off the strain screw tonight. That "red" fingernail polish did look kind of sexy when I took the grips off, but I'll try to do it the "right" way this time. THANKS.
  5. Thanks Guys......I think I'll wait till it breaks, hopefully during practice, then drill out the front of the sight. Also wanted to thank everyone on the forum, I got JM's "Action Job" DVD, and cleaned up my 625 & 686. They both have a better actions now, but I still can't talk myself into filing off the strain screw. They are backed about about one turn with finger nail polish around them. Thanks, Ed
  6. Just put SDM front sights on my new 625 JM & 686 SSR, what is used to glue fiber optic rod in place? How much trouble is it to drill out the front blade of these sights? (What size drill bit) Ed
  7. Thanks for the info......I've been shooting a Glock 35, and was just thinking about trying something different, a CZ , Para or Beretta. My Glock is very reliable and I had Charlie Vanek do the trigger (great trigger),............. so it will probably be smart to stay with the Glock.
  8. Looked at a Para LDA today. Nice action......Anyone using one in Production? Pros and Cons about Para's for competition.
  9. eerw----Very Nice pistols....Who did your gunsmithing? ED
  10. I have been using a Glock 35 for USPSA Production......Thinking about trying a CZ. Which model CZ and in what caliber would make a good production class gun, also where would be the best place to order one and who does action work? Thanks, Ed
  11. Is anyone reloading Armscor brass in 40 S&W? I saw a few post from last year where Armscor was having problems with their brass. I use Starline now, but Armscor's price is lower, and I thought if the problems they were having has been corrected, I would like to try them out. ED
