It is also interesting to note that if I pull the bolt back and hold the carrier down the bolt will catch the lock but the carrier will want to flip up and release the bolt. The bolt release on the shell latch won't push in at this point either so there is nothing pushing it out when trying to lock the bolt as you should have the bolt go to battery when pushing the bolt release button

OK so I got all ahead of myself and went to modifying my VM based on all I've read on this forum. Tis consisted of welding up my carrier, polishing it out, polishing the feed latch and opening up the u notches and blending in and polishing the loading port. No I am going back together with everything and I can't exactly remember the spring placement on the feed latch. I know there were two springs and some have said to remove the inner spring to ease in getting shells by the latch. Well my question is do the springs go on the bolt release lug between the received and feed latch as shown in the first pic? This spring position basically keeps the feedlatch engaged towards to she'll follower. No when I go back together with this arrangement I can't get the feedlatch to disengage or pull away from the shell in the tube. I also can not get the bolt to lock back. As there is nothing when cycling the bolt that gets the feedlatch pushed out and locks the bolt. Something has to be wrong with either the feedlatch and spring arrangement or my reassembly of the shell carrier in the trigger assembly. This should not be that hard but I seemed to have screwed myself somewhere along the line. Appreciate any thoughts or guidance on this.

OK due to overwhelming feedback we are going with 316. Going to try some Hastalloy W filler for this one. Report to follow

How is this match for a less than 1 year experienced 3G freak with top third finish at local matches? I'm looking for bigger run larger stage matches to spread my wings with.

Anyone have a lead on the VM carrier material? It is stamped steel that appears unfinished. I'm guessing stainless 304 or 316 as I have seen some pics of them highly polished.

Currently I am running 1:10 twist on a mid length gas SS bbl. I am shooting 150 FMJ right now but can't find any more of that so I'm looking at 155 or 147 that is available or maybe going heavier?

Just moving into the heavy metal world with a 16" SS barrel. What would be an all round good bullet choice for 3 gun heavy shooting 500 rarely and mostly 0-200yds. I'm not reloading but buying from freedom at the moment.

Any way possible to get a +1 in green with flames? You need to have the green flames for the RemFolks. How do I go about that? Does he have email or do I have to call? Set up the screen printing, I want a green flame +1cap.

OK reporting back. Barrel was stuck to receiver due to some of the fancy paint from the zombies taking up the required clearance. Had to keep working it back and forth while pulling to get it to come free. What a PITA.

OK, I feel a little stoopid but I can't get the barrel off the receiver on my brand new unfired versa tactical. Just going through a tear down prior to first shots to learn the gun. This is my first auto scattergun ever after always running ou and pump. I've done some light bumping with wood to try and get the barrel to separate but no joy. The bolt is locked back and the safety engaged as per the manual. Any suggestions?

I running the YHM pins on a Seekins set as well. You can't really do much better. The Seekins lower has in stalled a nylon tipped tensioning screw for upper play. You end up with a real nice fit up with the Seekins gear.

This one is home today and getting ready for its first strip and clean. I think I'm going to shoot it in this weekends sporting clays tournament just to upset the establishment.

That would be nice to track .223 .9mm .45acp and 762nato price per round for 1k. I afraid the ammo run is going to last longer and not retract as well as the gun run.
