Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. CH Precision weapons now make a plate if anyone is looking. I put one on today and it well made and looks great.
  2. Does anyone out there know if an adapter plate for G34 mos that works with Sig Romeo 1?
  3. +1 Practice pile, then there is no wasted time. Put them in a marked zip lock that way you know when to be careful.
  4. I am also looking forward to this, McFarland makes some good stuff and the previews for this look awesome!
  5. I was shooting 180 RN lead bullets out of my 5" m&p using 4.6 grains of select at 775 fps to make minor but im sure you could load it to major no problem, not a super high pressure powder. Alliant shows a jacketed 180 with 5.1 grains will get you 856, a little shy of major but you will pick up a little velocity with the lead over the jacketed. I would say start there and go up if you need to

    Range report?
  7. I picked up a few thousand "moly coated" bullets from a guy off another forum cause it was a crazy good deal. Now I know why, they vary in weight by up to 11 grains and completely leaded my barrel after 200 rounds and cost me a couple stages at a level 2 match until I figured out what was going on. Talked to a buddy that shoots the BBI and his are nothing like the ones I have. I will now be buying moly bullets from only reputable sources.
  8. I alos like a .40 cal loaded to minor power factor, the Match directors in my area love pistol spinners so the little extra punch of the 40 is nice. For rifle make sure your bullets have a lead core and a copper jacket. Good way to tell is to touch a magnet to just the bullet if it attracts the magnet dont shoot it in a match, they are really hard on steel and they will DQ you for it. If you are shooting a semi for a shotgun shoot whatever it will run consistently, if your shotty goes down it pretty much ruins the day and is super frustrating. Also get some kind of shot shell caddy system and practice with it a little, way better then loading out of pocket. Just my thoughts, hope they help.
  9. something i use all the time in precision rifle shooting but pretty sure it goes by the way side when i shoot 3-gun. Pretty sure my mentality there is pull the trigger as fast as possible whether the sights are where there need to be or not! Should probably work on that hahah.
  10. I like that reference, and its much the same for me! After the beep its all black till i hear unload and make read hahaha
  11. Yes, good call on the mag pouches for single stack, cant have to much ammo hahaha. As for the match just shoot it like any other match and have fun! Also talk to people and make some new friends, thats my favorite part of bigger matches.
  12. They look good, its hard to get a read from the perspective you used in the pictures and not really knowing what your thoughts are on flow. I look forward to the match though, it will be a nice change of pace.
  13. Been thinking really hard about buying a 308 AR and I think that this thread just talked me into it. These look pretty sweet. went to cabelas on my lunch today and they had a couple, they feel pretty nice, very light (the hunter model.) Though looking online in confused as to why the 24" bull barrel model is $300 cheaper then the hunter model?
  14. I started out with this mind set and now im stuck in B and having a hell of a time getting out. The mikes are a killer, one in a classifier and you might have well as zero'd it. When it comes to placing in matches there is a little more wiggle room, but i can shoot the fastest time on a stage but still loose cause the other guy went a little slower and didnt have the c's and d's I had.
  15. Yes montana shooting can be a little interesting sometimes. Shot a nighttime 3-gun match last night in boulder mt and was very happy that the forcasted rain and snow didnt hit till the drive home! Glad to see you are hooked, it is a great sport and you meet all kinda of great people. How was the pistol match in hamilton today?
