  1. Also didn't see your previous post about the paint, I used automotive paint with mine but then again not everyone has access to that and it can be spendy.
  2. I sprayed the TWN activator from a HVLP gun and haven't had any problems. I have heard of others having problems with activators due to improper water temp.
  3. It wasn't really implied in the original post but yes if you are competing in matches and need to make major PF I would up it a bit to make sure you are above 165 with all your rounds.
  4. Yep a heavier bullet will feel less snappy than a light bullet. It will give a perceived less recoil feeling.
  5. I agree with Sarge 45 runs at such low pressure your bulge buster isn't really needed. Again the lube shouldn't make a difference.
  6. Hey Thanks.... But I understood that. But it's the same exact gun? Just change springs? I could shoot 9 Major in my STI 9mm Edge?? T You could--but why would you want to? 9 Major is a very hot load and we load 9s to major PF to compete in Open. I don't know anybody else who would shoot 9 major in any other gun than a gun designed to compete in Open. No...no..... I have no intention of doing that with my Edge. I was just using it as an example to understand. I am looking to buy a used Open gun and I passed on a nice 38 Super gun....or at least that's what I thought. I did not know it would shoot 38sc and everyone is running a 38sc comp. Duh.... Now I know! T Hey Thanks.... But I understood that. But it's the same exact gun? Just change springs? As I previously stated my gun will run both without changing the extractor.
  7. I dipped my Saiga 12 and I don't have any issue but I doubt my barrel gets as hot as a rifle barrel. But I have done plenty of 20mag dumps with no issues.
  8. Smallish charge of titegroup and 200gr LSWC was very soft shooting. I almost thought the gun wasn't going to function because of how light it felt.
  9. I run SP 45 for this very reason I never have to change the priming mechanism every caliber I load uses SPP or SRP. It is hard to find people to trade for LPP ones since there are people out there that throw away the SPP cases.
  10. We have some rifle pistol matches here in the winter it makes the day go a lot quicker when its really cold out.
  11. +1 I have done all the work on my Saiga. I really don't have much for tools other than a cordless drill, a dremel, ect.
  12. I run a self modded Saiga and it runs great
  13. FWIW my gun will extract both 38 super and 38SC with no changes to the gun. I have stacked them back and forth in one mag and the gun runs fine.
  14. Lube should not change neck tension AFAIK
  15. If you can't find someone to do it for you, check out this link I found doesn't look too hard and you can get it exactly how you want it. http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?64714-How-to-make-a-Kydex-holster-Picture-Tutorial
  16. Finally got my 99% alcohol and liquid lanolin in the mail from Amazon yesterday, mixed up a batch and definitely made loading a lot smoother and somehow those COAL variances I have went from about +/- .03 to roughly +/- .01. Thanks again for all your replies!
  17. I also have carbide dies but things get a little sticky on the sizer and expander. Any suggestions on the coal variances?
  18. Just two quick questions I want to see what you guys think. First off when you use a spray type lube like hornady one shot for example, do you size and then tumble it off or do you just continue and load with lube on. The other question is I'm loading MG 124gr FMJs and when seating to 1.250 maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 seats out longer at say 1.270 it may just be the difference in the ogive of the bullets but it never seats them too deep just a few hundreths long. Should I be concerned about that or just keep going like everything is ok?
  19. If you are running open you are gonna want some 170mm mags over those dawsons. The dawsons will be nice for reloads. http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=00PG021A
