  1. It was well worth it fighting the traffic through the I-65 detour, good thing I forgot about the time change. Thanks to MD Jerry Dillard for getting everything ready and ROing my squad. 4th place finish is my best yet. I look forward to shooting with all you guys again. Bruce
  2. I can confirm the I65 closure. Working my way there slowly. Bruce & Christine
  3. Stoked about this weekend. Started with a local pistol match to kick it off last night where my wife shot better than I did. Headed to RC tomorrow for this pistol match and then to Cincinnati for a 3-gun match on Sunday! I will get some rest when I get back to work This will give us both the classifiers needed for our first rating. Bruce
  4. I am making the trip down because it is a classifier match and it looks quite challenging. This will be my first match with you guys. Where do we sign in, at the lodge? Bruce
  5. This looks like a fun one and I need classifiers. Trying to clear my schedule. Bruce
  6. Thank ya Corey, I am sure that would be a very educational day. I will take you up on that some time. Bruce
  7. Thanks to all the Silver Creek guys and the ROs for putting this match together. My wife was trying to back out because of the forecast of rain but I convinced her to press on. We had a great time and stayed dry! The classifier was my best stage and I scored way way over my class. Still making some newbie mistakes here and there but I feel like the practice is paying off with better scores each time I compete. Bruce
  8. Looking forward to it. This will be my 4th match so soon I will have a letter assigned to my skills! My wife beat me (and 14 other guys) last night at the local match and I hope here streak continues. Bruce
  9. Gary, I really appreciate you and all the locals putting together and running this match. This was my second time shooting 3-gun and while I have a long way to go and lots to learn, I sure did have a good time. Bruce
  10. Looking forward to it! I will try to drag a few shooters with me from Shelbyville, KY Bruce
  11. I got my first 2 USPSA matches under my belt over the last 2 weekends and shot the drill this evening. I made off with an armful of used targets from the match and made up some stands today. We shot it 8 times for an average of 9.1. My wife shot here first match yesterday and her average was 13.58 this evening. PM is on the way for the next step. Bruce
  12. I shoot weekly IDPA matches but this was my first 3-gun comp and I am definitely hooked. I went in looking to learn and that I did. I shot in squad 1 with a good mix of friends and experienced shooters. I see there is a big advantage having 3-gun specific guns but I still managed to have a great time and turn in some decent scores. First on the upgrade list is a bigger tube on the shotgun and likely a longer chokeable barrel, maybe just a completely new gun. The AR needs work as well and I have a better suited scope on the way. I already found a runners stroller and made a man cart to tote around my gear! Looking forward to the next match with you guys but a day of sporting clays Saturday and my first USPSA match on Sunday will have to hold me over until next time. Bruce
  13. Shelbyville and I work in Louisville. Owensboro would be a nice weekend trip, any links? Bruce
  14. Just registered today and wanted to introduce myself. My wife and I shoot local IDPA style competition every Thursday evening, we both use a 1911. We also shoot every Sunday and try to mix it up with some sort of practice drills. Anyway, looking to get into 3-gun competitions and glean some knowledge from this forum. We already have plans to attend the Rockcastle Pro-Am 3-gun in August and today I sent them an e-mail looking to enter as a competitor if it is not sold out.
