  1. Firebird precision will eventually be coming out with a clone of the mka 1919 , but it will be all US parts with an aluminum upper and lower, very similar to an ar15 in construction.
  2. Federal bulk pack shoots ok in my experience also....run from the Winchester bulk packs, they are unreliable. Winchester AA run great. Ive ran about 600 rounds through mine now with Wallmart bulk packs. I shoot Federal though and have not had any cycling issues. I did have a round not fire yesterday on one of the 3GN classifiers, cycled the bolt by hand, kicked out the shell and I inspected it after the stage. It did not have any striker mark on it at all. This is the first time this has happened to me. Ill be placing an order this week for the 10/22 extra power spring and hope it gets here before the shotgun match this Sunday.
  3. I agree on the MKA platform. I have been shooting mine for almost 2 years and the gun itself is reliable, with that said the mags are the weak point (but correctable as said above). If you buy one and keep it stock ($609) except for higher capacity mags, you will be very pleased and have a good 3 gun shotgun with 2 18 round mags ($375)for below the price of a stock Vepr. Add a burris fastfire 3 red dot ($225)and you are about the same price as a Vepr stock. From there you can add tons of upgrades.
  4. At hints on how you got one ? I have been looking for awhile...even asked the m&p rep at one of their shows and was told they would NOT be selling just the Core upper by itself, I had to buy the whole gun.
  5. I usually try to pickup my brass between shooters. If the stage is moving fast, I wait until everyone has moved to the next stage and take a minute or 2 to get what I can. I reload so I usually get back about 90% of what I shoot...I am ok with that.
  6. I can't wait....I would be available for a torture test when they are done. LOL
  7. Google tooth and nail armory or carolina shooters supply...they have them for $75
  8. I have had good luck shooting Winchester AA ammo 7 1/2, 1 1/8 oz., 1300 fps, 2 3/4"...I am lucky and have had zero problems to date. I also just received the 10 round mags from Firebird and they work great ( they have the new springs).
