  1. Comparison photos between the shadow and the cts slide. Edit: the cts slide is not the same as the Ts slide. Guess the question is whether I sand down the slide or the da/SA frame? Any ideas?
  2. I took delivery of my CTS Ls today and immediate went to work figuring out if it works with my Shadow. 75 shadow slide on top of the SAO frame works, as there's nothing super special about the cts ls slide although the slide rattles slightly as the frame is fit for the Ts slide as discussed below. TS slide on my 75 shadow frame = no go. There's about an extra thousandth or two of material on the top of the trigger pack right of the hammer that prevents the slide from fully locking back. It looks like the cts frame has some material removed from the trigger pack, as there's bare metal there to allow the Ts slide to clear. I'll probably try to stone down the trigger pack at a later date, there's only a tiny bit of material that's preventing the Ts slide from fitting and giving me a da/SA longslide. I'll post photos of what I'm talking about later. FYI, mecgar afc 40 mags have the same lip spacing as my 75 shadow 9mm mags which means that both the mecgar and the factory mags should be able to pull double duty as 9 and 40 mags. Edit: they hold 17 9mm without any trouble!
  3. I just bought the cts that he was selling. Good guy, he's actually a real mayor!
  4. Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm now a proud owner of a CTS LS-B, partly because of the verified ability to swap top ends (and perhaps bottom ends) with my shadow 9mm. I'll take the hit in mag capacity for idpa semilegality and just shoot lim10 or limited at a slight disadvantage. If I ever get up to A class, it'll be far enough in the future I can just get a TS frame and go full race gun. Thanks for the information everybody. Edit: What exactly is the difference between the CTS LS-P and the CTS LS-B? At first I thought the P was 9mm and the B was .40 but then I've seen the B for sale in 9mm. The CZ-USA doesn't even mention the B and talks about the discontinuation of the P. Could it be that the P is DA/SA and the B is SAO??
  5. Does the normal CZ 75 bladetech holster fit the longslides?
  6. Sounds like a good way to build yourself a Czechmate on the cheap.
  7. The TS barrel can withstand 9 Major?
  8. Yeah. I have gun add and the local scene is split pretty much 50/50 between idpa and uspsa so it would be nice to "upgrade" from my CZ shadow to something that shoots major PF that isn't a 1911 or a 2011.
  9. So this means that it was be deadly in IDPA ESP and L10. Not as great in regular limited because of the mag size. Do you know how it handles major recoil vs the TS? Seems like the deciding factor is trading full blown limited for idpa esp, otherwise both guns seem very similar and I'm a huge fan of the 75 frame ergos. I am paralyzed by choice. Someone tell me which gun to buy! :-)
  10. Well that changes things! Eerw, what would be required to change from a 40 to a 9. It can't be as simple as buying a 9mm Ts barrel and 9mm mags, right?
  11. That's probably true, my 75 Shadow weighs in at 38 oz with a normal length barrel. This is really busting the case for a CZ 75 CTS LS! It seems like I'd be better off getting a TS and sending it in for the CTS treatment at a later date. Does that make sense or am I overlooking something?
  12. Decisions decisions. Can't decide if a 75 cts ls is better than a Ts. Having a 9mm longslide for the price of a barrel would be totally bad ass. Eerw, does the ls fit into the idpa box? Because if I can shoot ESP with it that would tip the scales in favor of it. Edit #2: If the CTS LS is just a TS slide on top of a 75 frame, does that mean that I could technically put my current shadow slide on the gun and convert it into a 9mm that way? My mind boggles at the frankengun possibilities!
  13. Hmm. That really hobbles the gun for play. Guess it would be only good for l10. :-(
  14. What kind of mags does this gun take? It ships with a 12 rounder but can it also take the 17 round Ts mags?
  15. I currently shoot a shadow 9mm but as far as I know they don't make a shadow in 40.
  16. What do you think would be a good gun that can be competitive in as many divisions as possible? I'm thinking either the M&P Pro .40 or the Glock 35. Those are legal in IDPA SSP/ESP and USPSA Prod/Limited10/Limited. Any others that I have overlooked?
  17. The shadow had been legal for a couple of years now, at least the 75 shadow
  18. I'm glad that I got my M&P before all the mags evaporated. At the last gun show I went to (San Antonio) someone wanted $75 for one!
  19. Except with NASA it's lowest initial bidder and then 200% cost overrun, multiple cancellations, and then being beat to space by a private company!

  21. Pretty much, before you know it they'll be on the 6 o'clock news informing the population that you should grab an armed assailant's slide when he pokes his gun around the corner so that the gun is rendered inert instead of getting the hell out of there.
  22. I traded my G34 for a M&P Pro 5" about a year ago and was pretty bummed out about the trade after I realized that the thing wouldn't group worth a damn, like 8 inch groups at 25 yards. Wanted to sell or trade back for the G34, but I talked to S&W and they replaced the original profile barrel with an updated one. I shot this group yesterday unrested at about 30 yards. The flyer was not the gun's fault, I jerked the trigger. Now I'm quite happy with the gun! Let S&W replace your barrel if you're on the fence, it makes a huge difference if your gun is a pre 2013 production.
  23. So... Are they the same as the mecgar aftermarket mags? I bought two of those and they have been excellent aside from holding one less round with the Dawson pad compared to old design para.
  24. I've got some chrono data for the BBI 125gr in 9mm 4.2gr of N320 @ 1.12 Beretta 92F Avg - 1120 SD - 9.1 Shots - 6 PF - 140 M&P Pro 5" Avg - 1119 SD - 18.6 Shots - 6 PF - 139 CZ 75 Shadow Avg - 1107 Shots - 6 SD - 12 PF - 138 I loaded them a bit higher than normal but I'd recommend 4.0gr of N320. That will make about 130 PF. PS: No smoke when shooting this load.
  25. Yes they are. Never seen them not light off before.
