  1. 9mm Hornady and Redding dies. They work just fine. I load jacketed, coated and xtreme plated.I like the Hornady better. Interesting... I have used almost all the dies and the Dillon dies are at the top of my list by a long shot.., that's just me though:)
  2. Good stuff... I can wait to post some pics if my new shop... I'll probably start a new thread but, that's no big deal. I'll also become a site vendor for brass, as well as a bunch of other stuff... Long time in the making... We still may be 6 months or so out before we are fully functional, but, the press is what's next:)
  3. Hey gang, I am going to buy a new 1050 setup for my shop. I have an idea of what I need but, maybe I am forgetting something... I am looking for your thoughts and recommendations. Here is what I have ready to go and will not need: 9mm Dies 9mm conversion kit 45 Dies 45 conversion kit 38/357 dies 38 conversion kit 40 dies All 4 casefeeder plates 2 1050 tool heads 1 Powder drop Large Primer System Extra Parts kit for 1050 Rapid Trim 1200 I am going to order the press in 223 carbide... what else do you guys recommend buying? Should I get the large CV media tumbler... I need one? Thoughts on bulletfeeder... is it needed? Just looking for thoughts here!
  4. It literally drives me NUTS.... lol. Does anyone know how to fix this? Are washers the only fix? I dont get it....
  5. Even with the washers, is that normal? It honestly bothers me.... lol. I am super anal and strange when it comes to my stuff.... literally to the point that I would sell it. I would figure that Dillon would not make something like this? Maybe there is no way around it since some run the press with no bullet tray? Even so, the 650 does not look off balance when you do not put all the parts on it. Anyway, mine is far worse with the case feeder tube and the bins...
  6. What a sweet thread.... I wish I was capable or doing some of this stuff.... Good work and compliments to everyone who can do this stuff!
  7. I am late to this party but, I have to say... I will never buy anything from CED again. A friend of mine told me to get one of these bags because it seemed like it would fit my needs. When I called CED, I asked them specifically, was this bag made in the USA. The rep clearly stated YES. Well... its not, so they lied to me over the phone. Lets say that was my fault for not researching the company... I overlooked that lie. I also asked what the warranty was as I love Bagmaster (made in the USA, Lifetime Warranty). They told me the bag was solid and it would have a life time no questions asked warranty. Well...went a head with the deluxe range bag and within 4 months it was collapsing, just as you show (but worse). So, that was a total of... lets say 7 trips to the range.... all in door by the way. Zippers were hard to close, and I felt like the bag should have lasted far longer than that. Esp because they say you can put 30 lbs (that might be off in weight) on top and it maintain its shape... lol. Nope. I called CED to simply have it fixed or replaced... I was told to send my bag in and they would replace it. Well after about 3 months of waiting I called back in to find out where my bag was... They told me they were sending out a bag to replace it... well, I had to call back a total of 8 times to get anywhere. It was always the same story, "it got lost in the paper work"... "Did you send in your old bag" lol, smh... I also heard "its on its way out today". On my last call where I literally almost lost my shit... they transferred me to some Indian woman who said that after she inspected it, it showed to much use to replace. Thats was interesting. After some major bitching by me she literally asked me "If you owned CED what would you do in this situation?" Really lady... How about send me a new freakin bag that holds up to your advertised standards or simply send me my money back and keep the bag. Well, she said that they would go out of business honoring something like that and she could not help me. Anyway, I will never buy from this crap company again... what a joke
  8. Lol... of course, thats obviously the best way to go....
  9. Grips would be going on this firearms.... I prefer the little darker color grip as well....
  10. This is what I am wanting but, Nill can not guaranty that they will look like this Here is another set of the exact same grips... they do not come close to the same look IMO, thoughts? I would gladly order the top set if I knew thats what I was getting... I would be extremely pissed this this bottom set showed up at the door.
  11. My 1050 casefeeder doesn't seem to be exactly vertical, It is most apparent by the clear plastic case tube, which 'leans' to the left. I wondered if it was due to the thickness of the bracket for the bullet tray, but it seems to match the thickness of the washer/spacer that the bracket replaces. I'm glad you've asked the question - I've been meaning to as well. I hope we find an answer so our presses can sober-up and improve their posture <hic>! .. I will not be in front of my loader for a few weeks... I'm out of town. Just killing time and figured I would ask. Roxfo, can you post a picture? Seems to be the exact same thing we are referring to.
  12. Its like any sport... you only get better with practice and working with better competition....
  13. Does anyone elses super 1050 seem to lean a little once you get all the parts etc on it? It almost looks twisted... Maybe its not set up correctly (although it works fine)? It just drives me crazy compared to the way my 650's look. Anyone have a thought?>...
  14. I already use the Hornady lock rings. This is good to hear. I think I'll try it out this way at first. ^Never thought of this, but... I am going to try it out:) Get new ideas everyday from this forum
  15. Looking for thoughts on K frame square butt grips. I have an old PPC revolver that is literally a work of art that needs new grips. Although this was intended for competition, I am looking for something in the way of beautiful looks. Nill are awesome but, I am having a hard time deciding... anyone have some thoughts or recommendations that combine beauty and performance?

    Got an HK45

I love mine as well... great pistols
  19. Yeah, I have one of these! They are awesome pistols! Its one that I was planning on keeping:)!
  20. So... A few quick notes, I currently have zero debt... So no car, house etc payments. I obviously have a few sources of income other than my day job but, by no means is it what I am used to living off of. I also have an "emergency fund". I am selling the pistols so I don't have to dip into anything I. The bank, market, or emergency fund. With that said, I may just wait to buy that super high end pistol I've wanted. Additionally, I am already part of that 1911 forum that was mentioned above:) great forum I guess I was realistically looking at thoughts on what to buy to keep my mind off the situation I am in and have something to look forward. Thanks for the advise:)
  21. Hey gang, I am in a situation that is killing me. I lost my job last March and have not found anything... I think I have applied for a million jobs at this point. To make a long story shot, my firearm collection is basically a built in bank account and although I have some firearms that will not ever be sold, I have many that will. In saying that, I am going to be/have sold off a lot lately:( I have talked it over with the wife and decided that I will sell a few more and pick up 1 1911/2011. I know I am talking to a bunch of gamers here so, the answers will probably be slanted in that direction but, I wanted to get some thoughts from you all! I dont really compete and given the financial situation, I probably will not this summer. In saying that I do want to buy a 1911 or 2011. I have many S/A and Kimbers and those have either been sold or, are going to be sold. I have around 4-5k in "gun fund" to pick up 1 high end pistol. Since this doesn't need to be a gamer gun, I have lots of choices! I have been going back and forth about the following but am keeping an open mind on all recommendations. Thought 1: Send my Kimber Team Match to Chuck Rodgers for a full custom job. This was the first firearm I ever bought and it will never be sold. It would be pretty cool to have a master like Chuck put his spin on the first pistol I had ever pick up. Thought 2: Call Joe Chambers and ask him what he can do in the price range I have Thought 3: Call SVI and have a pow-wow with Brandon about a build. Thought 4: Talk to Ned Christensen about the same. Thought 5: Buy either a Wilson, NH, Crafter, or Brown and save the rest... and then buy a few more semi-custom's more once I find a new job. I am open to any other thoughts? I am sure I will hear buy a CZ... I already own a CTS Custom, SP01 Shadow T, and a custom 75. I do not need another one of these. I maybe in over my head price wise but, I can probably make it work with a few other pistol sales... To add to that, I want this pistol to be a total tack driver, Awesome Range Toy, something fun as hell to shoot and show off with, a pistol that will retain value, and to be able to feel somewhat satisfied that I bought it since I have to sell around 30 pistol in the next month or so.... DAMN All help and thoughts are very much appreciated!
  22. Hey gang, lately I have started toying around with 1911 builds of my own and mill work. In saying that, I would like to start actively understanding how different spring set ups work in my 1911's. I am not sure if this will make much sense but, I have a CZ CTS Custom... The slide rack is like butter! Same goes with my Pardini GT45, and my Smith 52-2. I want to try to get this kind of feel on my 1911 slides. Possible? No clue... I know the Pardini and CZ that I am talking about have very large slides and that in itself allows to lighten up the springs. I am not sure exactly how S&W did it the the 52... Can anyone school me in exactly what I should take into consideration, etc...? I am assuming I am going to get a lot of questions regarding load data I use. Lets just call it 230 ball with X amount of Win 231.... I am not loading these for competition, anything that is a lighter to medium 1911 load is typically what I load. Thanks and looking forward to reading and learning!
  23. Updated pics with new VZ grips that came in today along with some with a High Power Practical!
