  1. Curious as to what height to get... they have a .170 and a .125T... They also offer a .100 and a .095... Since the rear will be .110 either will be fine, just curious as to what would be better. Thoughts on height and width?
  2. Eli... I will post some pics when I get the pistol back with the SVI sight milled in. I will just go ahead and order the Dawson sight as well!
  3. Hey guys, I loaded on 2 650's for just about a year and a half. I have upgraded to a 1050 with drive. Is anyone local to Orland Park IL 60448 area that would be willing to come by and help me get set up? I knew the 650 like the back of my hand and I could run it like a top... With the 1050, I need some help... Anyone want to give me a hand??
  4. Yep... I know that. Anyway, I ordered the sight. Im good to go, Thanks
  5. Hey gang, I have been lurking for a while reading and getting some good info! I sent out my slide to have some sight cuts but, I am not going in circles on what rear sights to get. I was originally going to get a Kensight adjustable rear but, I am now thinking of going with a Bomar style rear cut. The reason for this is, 90% of my 1911's have an SVI .110 rear sight so, I think it would be cool to keep it consistent. The reason for second guessing is that the SVI stuff is EXPENSIVE... the rear sight will run be around 145 shipped. The Kensight will only run 60 or so... With that said, if I go with the SVI sight I would want to get a .100x180 front F.O (or a .100 so that it would match up correctly with my rear)... Can anyone confirm that a sight like this exists for the CZ? Anyway, looking forward to you help, thoughts, and insight! Thanks again, Bobby C
  6. No worries Stuart, I know you guys are swamped... I have no complaints either way.. You both gave me more info than I could personally process!! Looking forward to working with both you and David in the near future!!!
  7. David, now thats what I am talking about!! Awesome job man!! Looks great... Looks like I was wrong in my initial statement in saying that CGW didnt do sight cuts. Looks like they could be a one stop shop!! Thanks again for all the replies here folks!
  8. Got it... Pretty sure on what I am going with... thanks for all the replies and help to this point!
  9. I hear what everyone is saying! I think I am going to give both places a chance to do some work... Ill send my pistol out to CGW for the trigger work etc... and then sent it over to CZC for the sight cuts and install... I will be able to form a very good opinion of both once I get the pistol back and see the quality of work as well as how my business is handled. Cant say enough at this point about CGW but, I am going to give CZC a fair shake as well! Thanks for all the posts here!!
  10. I have talked to both over the phone... I will be honest, the folks I talked to were great at both places but, the guy at CGW was far and away much nicer than the guy I spoke to at CZC. It was almost like the guy at CZC was annoyed with questions I was asking/telling him what I wanted (and asking if it were possible to accomplish). I am leaning toward having CGW do what I wanted done but, I wanted to hear your thoughts on quality of work done. Why some one would work with one shop over the other... Are there benefits, is one known for certain work vs the other, what has your experience been with one or the other? The other thing I was hoping to find out is, I picked up a stock 75b and want a set of adjustable rear sights like the shadow target/shadow t has. From the sound of it, the guy at CGW didnt have that sight and the slide may need to be cut to have that fit? Anyone have a recommendation on where to get that done/who can do it? Anyway, just looking for your thoughts on the questions above and feedback on who this should be sent to? Thanks
  11. Man, I really, really want a stainless gun! I keep going back to the 75b and Shadow T. This is for accuracy shooting and range use only. I WILL NOT be shooting any competitions with it so random rules do not apply to my buying decision. I talked to the guys at CZ custom shop and they said that they thought the Shadow line was the way to go due to the slide being different and having the ability to add the accu-shadow bushing. Is bushing it worth it? Either way, its going to be converted to SA and I am going to ask to have the pistols trigger resemble my CTS Customs trigger as much as possible.... This is starting to piss me off as I do not know what one to order. Oh, the wait time.... Stainless 75 would be sent right away, the Shadow T has quit a long wait time until it would get sent out. Someone talk some sense into me on this...
  12. I was thinking the same thing^^ we will see!!
  13. Ok, I think I have this down to two pistols... I its going to be between a Shadow T or a Stainless 75. Regardless, I am going to get it changed over to a SA only pistol. I am also going to get a ton of stuff done at the custom shop. Since I love Stainless pistols, I am leaning more toward the 75 and just upgrading it to my exact specs. Thoughts here?
  14. Anyone have any thoughts on the Shadow Target or Shadow T?
  15. I already own a CTS Custom (which is one of my favorite pistols)... I feel as though the TS and the CTS Custom are very similar. Additionally, I have to order mine direct from CZ (I have a Certificate to burn up). In saying that, I just hopped back onto the CZ sight and looked at what prices were on these things. I was not wanting to drop 1300+ on a new pistol...grrr:) I also noticed that some the majority of the pistols were DA/SA... not SA only. Can you guys give me your thoughts on the DA/SA action. As I pointed out about, I am a SA 1911 shooter and have never been able to get used to a DA type pistol. With that said, I really have only shot HK USP and Sig DAK DA/SA pistols.... way to much lbs on the trigger for what I would want. What do you guys think of the following: Shadow T 75 Stainless Shadow SA Those seem to be in my price range and I feel like I could add what I am missing out on later... Thoughts?
  16. Aaron, go get the first few seasons of The Wire... IMO its the greatest show ever put on TV. Yes, its that damn good!!!
  17. Brian, its great! If you have not seen The Sultan Sea, A Murder of Crows, or Kill the Irishman... definitely check those out (in that order)
  18. Hey guys, I am going to be in the market for a CZ very soon! I am going to tell you all what I typically do with my pistols as well as what I like in a pistol. I am hoping based off that, a few of you will give me a solid recommendation on what I should buy! 1. I like an all steel frame, no Poly 2. SA action only 3. I am 1911 single stack guy so 3lb or sub 3lb trigger pull with as little take up as I can get is what I am wanting 4. Adjustable rear sight... and prefer precision vs just hitting the target so I typically like .100 front with a rear that just a little room for sight alignment. 5. 9mm In saying that, I do not shoot Limited or any other game. Currently I am shooting 90% range with some very good shooters. We shoot for fun at the moment... I may look into gaming type shooting down the line but, right now, I am not going that route! I am also a long slide lover... at least 5.25"...6" on some of my 1911's are awesome to! I looked at CZ's website and came out thinking that the CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Target, or the CZ 75 Shadow CTS LS-P seemed like smart choices. I have also thought about a plain old 75 (stainless)... sending it into the custom shop for trigger work, sights, etc... I feel like I am all over the board. Not to mention, other than the CTS LS I cant tell much difference in any of them other than sights. I have heard about the accushadow bushing and would probably want to get that as well but, I am not sure. Thoughts, help.. Thanks
  19. As far as shooting goes... I would agree, its hard to beat: Heat, The Way of the Gun, Ronin, Reservoir Dogs, or Act of Valor. Fighting... shoot man, I am a Kung Fu movies junkie but, to keep it mainstream: Enter the Dragon, Any of the Kill Bills series, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Any of the Matrix, or The Rundown (kinda cheesy but I love this flick).
  20. I have started this movie at least 5 times... in its credit, its typically at midnight or later so, I find myself dozing off and just do not follow it. I love these type of movies so, I am going to give it a full viewing at a normal time. Thanks for reminding me as I almost gave up on it/forgot about it one!
  21. The Wire was classic... In my mind Breaking Bad isnt on that level but, its definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen! What do you think is going to happen this last season? Walt goes to jail? Jesse and Walt kill each other? Walt rides off into a witness protection program once he turns on Mike and Jesse? Maybe Walts Cancer comes back and he passes on... Ahhhh its killin me!
  22. Man, what an impossible question... in no real order, here are some that come to mind... The Usual Suspects The Godfather 1&2 Heat A Bronx Tale Scarface Rounders A Murder of Crows Shawshank Redemption The Sultan Sea Top Gun Good Will Hunting Dumb & Dumber Snatch Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Gladiator Seven Poolhall Junkies Green Street Hooligans Kill the Irishman I can just go on and on... anyway, I love B movies... for some of you who have not heard of a few on this list... I definitely recommend you check them out!
