  1. This is one of the best business card programs I've used and it's a free download here: http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=softwa...de=WEB01&node=0 It's the DesignPro Limited Edition. It seems easier to use than the MS Word card printer option. You can also use high-gloss photo paper, then cut it with a paper cutter or a steady hand with scissors/knife. If you print both sides be sure and let it dry good before feeding it back into the printer.
  2. That's correct Matt. Joe was with Johnny at the AR sectional. He had a table at the match. His daughter is shooting in Production. john

  4. I was thinking about the case lube because I use it on my reloads and don't tumble it off. I would think it gets inside my handgun magazines and I never have a problem with them unless my springs get bad. I was planning on trying it on my shotgun feed tube and maybe my Tech Loaders. I guess not. Windex, huh George? I think you're shining us on. Thanks for the help guys.
  5. I did a search and didn't find anything on this, so I'll ask. Has anyone tried this on their magazines or shotgun tubes? Would it attract dust and sand? Any ideas on the pros and cons before I try it?
  6. Al & Mark it was great being squadded with you on Sat. Al "you done good", Mark and I were too busy between stages trying to find the damn dot switch on the limited & prod guns to know how many points anybody shot! Mark, I'm working on a hand mounted dot for next year. You just have to get your grip the same every time. You shot a great match Sunday. You should thank us for voting you out of squad 6. Congrats to Hopalong "Jerry Jr.", Lynn and the rest of Team Memphis on their wins and shooting a great match. A big congratulations to JB and MM on their AR championships and to Manny for his wins and support. Thank you to Ron, David, Tom, Bruce and the other guys for putting on such a good event. You other BE'ers should check out the AR matches. They are always a good time. john
  7. Don't you guys recognize it? It's the dead tub seal from BE's Maytag washer.... and he's still pissed about it! 9x
  8. That's called a "drive coupling". They also make a heavy duty version of it. It's a special part number. That fits the Whirlpool/Kenmore washer (plus some other brands special models). btw Eric, the transmission has plastic gears inside too. Of course most of the other manufactures use plastic gears in the tranny's also.
  9. Some repair guys shoot back. They have to travel in some rough neighborhoods. Call the repair guys and have them come down and fix the machine at - Dillon's Range. Have the machine downrange with the mini gun set up and ready......Check facial expressions of repair guys... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  10. Handgun (3 Gun) racing. Speed shoot is a drag race. Field course is a road race. I describe the targets as the track. 9x
  11. Happy birthday Jerry Jr. Keep the hammer down on an empty cylinder. 9x

    Model 30 Problem

Thanks Steve & duck. I took it apart and looked at the striker. I didn't realize they were shaped like that. I told him to go ahead and shoot it. If it starts to leave shavings then I'll try a heavier spring. Thanks for the help. 9x

    Model 30 Problem

Relative has a brand new mod. 30 .45acp. First time fired and the firing pin is dragging. 230 grain ball ammo and it drags badly. Switched to lead 200 gn and still dragging lightly. My question is: if he switches to a heavy firing pin spring and it doesn't cure the problem, will that mean it's a timing problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 9x
  14. Capt. Mike, Here's something I used years ago to cure flinch plus teach me visual patience. I recently had to go back to it to cure another problem that I'll elaborate on later. Maybe it will be of some use to you. I took a 10 inch steel plate and suspended it from 2 chains. Started with gun on target and fired 2 shots. (Double tap) You can't hit the second shot if you flinch or don't have visual patience. The plate will swing back. You have to see it to hit it. Work it up to a bill drill. (6 rapid shots) Recently I realized I was not seeing my shots hitting the targets on speed shoots and field courses. I assumed I had developed a flinch, so I went back to this drill. I immediately realized it wasn't a flinch, but that I had in fact lost my visual patience. My problem was on multiple targets. I would put the gun on target then move my eyes on to the next target while pulling the trigger on the previous target. My eyes were ahead of my gun. I feel this came from being lazy in practice. I use steel IPSC/USPSA targets on my backyard range. The range stays set up all the time, so I just walk up and run speed shoots aka ElPresidente's and such. It makes it easy for the eyes to get ahead of you there. Bill drills will help, but you might not see all 6 shots when you are really cranking them out. The hanging plate makes you have to see the shot to hit it at speed and give you audible feed back. You may not have experienced some of this yet, but look back on it after your shooting has developed later and maybe you'll find some use in it. I hope this might do you some good or some of the other folks here. I'd like to give something back to the forum because it's sure helped me many times. Good luck and stay the course, 9x
  15. Oh yeah, the Monte Cristo, one of the staples of life. If you don't have a Bennigans in your area, there is an alternative. There is a resturant called Garfield's that serves one. You get grape or strawberry jelly instead of the jam.
  16. Zach, You can fix it yourself if you do some internet searching. Hijackthis is good, but it can be difficult to decipher sometimes. Like Rob said it's probably your browser and not msconfig. Do a search on Google and/or Yahoo for something like "Spyware changed my homepage" then filter the results for "IE". It'll take some research, but you'll most likely find your answer. I use IE and I've had to do it many times. Panda Software Antivirus, Trend Microvirus and Rave Antivirus are good sites for help also. Good luck and happy hunting. 9x
  17. Detlef, If you are having to edit the faxes that you send and receive, then the computer fax might be the way to go. If you are sending and receiving a lot of faxes and not having to computer edit or store them, then one of the multi-function fax machines would probably be much more convient. The price is a lot lower on them now and it would be much faster. It's normally a phone, fax, copier, scanner and printer. Get the film type instead of the ink cartridge, I think it's less expensive to operate. Price on them is $300.00 US or less I believe. Brother, Panasonic, Cannon, etc. are the most common brands. Just my $.02, YMMV 9x
  18. Welcome to the forums moverfive. btw, that's spring steel riveted to the blast shield. see ya on the range. 9x

    2nd place

Is the glass half full or half empty? Some people would call 2nd place "incentive". 9x
  20. Just a thought if you are making a change in start command: "Prepare Your Firearm To Start And Assume Your Start Position" 9x (breaking a 20+ year old habit would be tough though)
  21. I don't have the answer, but I certainly agree with the question. Even my reaction to the start beep is different and the ranges here aren't chilly. I can run "GM" level in dry fire while calling my shots. At the matches I can't turn in consistant "A" level scores. For me I feel it's mental and hopefully I'll work through it with time and continued practice. Sorry I can't offer any help, but I hope you get a lot of good insight from this post. Thanks for asking the question. 9x
  22. I like being online at the right time and catching EricW's rant before it got zapped. Bravo Eric! It's probably in poor taste to bring it up, so maybe you should zap this one too. I just felt I should show support for a worthy rant. Salute to you sir. 9x
  23. I'm needing some 38 super mags for a Witness. I'd prefer "standard capacity", but I'll take 10 rounder's if that's all I can find. I'm in the USA and I'm not sure if Tanfaglio will/can ship over here. I've searched the forums here and various dealers, such as Brownell's, with no success. Any help would be muchly appreciated. thanks.................9x
