  1. Why not have a rifle built? You can save quite a bit and pay for the accessories you want and not have a bunch of parts left over you'll never use. Small changes or add on's you might always be doing but starting with a rifle thats ready for the class you want to shoot in. I have been shooting 3 gun since the ol' SOF matches and now my son and I are both shooting 3 gun with our own built equipment and hopefully soon will be a more common appearance at as many shoots as we can get to. (Sorry, I edited this but it felt a little like advertising so I deleted some of it)
  2. My first year of shooting IDPA with 3 matches under my belt. Just shot my first qualifier yesterday, Expert CDP. Those of you who might know me probably wouldn't be surprised. Just an old Masterblaster blowing the dust out of my barrel. My son cant wait to give this a try in fact I think he is going to finish building his own pistol if I don't get it done soon! Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones~!
  3. Those pins with the circlips or E-clips are nothing but a headache. Had good luck so far with the KNS design but we have also made our own out of harder steel.
  4. Yes the XM193 is NOT steel cored. This ammo shoots the best out of my match rifle, just as good as my reloads with sub MOA groups. Just take a magnet near any ammo and you'll see if its steel cored or not
  5. Greetings, We will be visiting relatives around Memorial day weekend near Spencer Iowa, would love to visit a range or better yet a match of some kind, any kind! Driving past Brownells on the way in but not sure if there is anything to see there. Is there any other firearm related things to enjoy in this area? We would be coming in from the East (Ohio) thanks for any suggestions~!
  6. Great news! My Fav type of match right in my own backyard. Already sent in the entry and cant wait!
  7. This weekend I Shot my first match in 22 years. After the first two stages I asked if I could join back into USPSA! So I just rejoined USPSA after a 22/23 year "retirement". Match director and membership couldnt locate my old number but I found on an old score sheet with it as A4616 I didnt think renewing with a new number was a big deal until I saw this post, now I want my old number back! Wish me luck as the form gets sent in this week with my old number~! And thanks to them for trying to locate it, might have found a few relatives I didnt know about! It was fun reading the match results from 1987 Miller/Northeast Invitational, some big names early in their career
