Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. What does your sight picture look like? 6'oclock hold or center mass? My sight picture generally looks like this: Mine is the same as that picture
  2. Standard Shadow rear, or HAJO adjustable? I shoot the same 147 load as you. With the fixed competition shadow rear, I had a .195 dawson, and it still shot a little high. I was going to try a .215 but never got around to it. I just installed a HAJO rear, and the suggested 7.5mm front was too short. I changed to an 8.5mm and that was just right. If you are going with a plain black front, I'd go higher than you think so you can file it in to your perfect height. You can file some material off of the FO sights as well.
  3. I only have the one AP quadload (8 rounds) for now, and didn't lose a single shell at the Nordic shotgun match this year. But they can definitely fall out easier if they get bumped or something. I take it off if there is a chance of going prone, etc. The shells come out very easy while loading, which is why I went with this one.
  4. Hey, I recognize that shotgun I've thought about doing something like this just to experiment with for my 3-gun M2. You could clean house on those 3GN classifier stages if you could fit two clays into your pattern. There were a couple stages at the Nordic shotgun match in MN with a lot of close together steel as well. Here is a modern interpretation, watch the video: http://www.paradigmsrp.com/srp-defense-solutions/gator-shotgun-spreader/
  5. I used these on mine, and the offset allowed me to keep the folding canopy working. http://www.amazon.com/Kolpin-21500-Rhino-Grip-Single/dp/B001Q4QO2C/ref=lp_404646011_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1390077364&sr=1-3
  6. Primary Arms has these on their site, I don't know if they're any good: https://www.primaryarms.com/3-Gun-Stuff-s/611.htm
  7. I am sure we'd all appreciate some pictures of what you did.... Here are some older pictures that I tried to show what's going on with an arrow. The first shows where my forearm is chipping up, and could use some smoothing out. I haven't done anything yet there, as it isn't a big problem. On the second pic, the arrow shows the flat spot that was hanging up when pushing shells in. This wasn't an issue with weak-hand loading, but was with load-2 and 4. I put more of a ramp there that smoothed entry into the tube, being very careful not to go to far. There is a lip that stops the shell follower from coming out. That pic also shows my modified shell latch on the left. The two U-shaped notches have been opened up to allow it to flex easier. I also bent it some so it doesn't stick out as far, and the shells can slide past easier.
  8. I've been practicing some "load 4" with my Benelli, but this might apply to you as well. I'm getting some knicks on the forend wood, just in front of the receiver. It's from pushing in the first two, and the two still in hand hit the forend. Smoothing out the forend, so there is not a "bump" just past the receiver might help here. I was also getting a hang-up where the shells enter the mag tube, bottom side farthest from the bolt. The front shell would run into the flat area if it wasn't deep enough in the loading port. A little dremel flaring cleared that up.
  9. Does Bladetech make one? I got one for my Witness Match, but had to order through Henning's shop. I don't think it is available elsewhere. Or maybe call Bladetech, it was under $70 if I remember right.
