  1. paraman, dont be mistaken guns dont make a "c" shooter to a Master. That take "desire" even with the junkiest gun around that can be done. but a gun worth 3 grand needs to be to really worth it. I guess its all up to the owner.
  2. Which would you guys buy. I would like to have one for no special purpose but occassional shooting. No more than 300 yds. thanks
  3. 300lbgorilla, what Turners was it that you saw the LS? thanks
  4. so if you want to play this game and you just happen to come across a guy who needs to sell a brand new frame that is not registered, just pass it up....yeah right! Just hope they dont ripe for 600.00 dollars or more!
  5. and USPSA excepts to increase membership? How many hoops do we need to jump through? Are we kidding ourselves? What does a new shooter have to shoot with? Buy a used limited gun at outragous prices? Between the laws that states are imposing and the prices of guns and services of the smiths were choking ourselves to deaths!
  6. STI will stop selling their guns in Ca, begining DEC 20. How will this affect new shooters wanting to a wide body? Or for that matter everyone else who shoots in IPSC in California? Because of the chance of manufactures getting sue. How will this effect other states? thanks
  7. Tree Rat, your right about TG. But after shooting my 45 in L10 for awhile now and since going to a 40 SV Long Dust. gun I realize that with the 40 its a snapy roundto begin with. Sure you can shoot 200 gr bullets but I wanted a fast recoiling gun. I cut back the duct cover 1.125 switched powders from Unv Clays to TG, install a long flat trigger and I must say that the gun handles MUCH better. I wanted the front sight to POP up and right back down. To shoot the 40 like a 45 seems didnt seem right to me, especially with a long dust cover. Almost like a gun loaded down with mud. Just my thoughts though. thanks
  8. I used a 180 fmj with 4.8 titegroup with a 170 pf. OAL 1.180. shoots fine.
  9. that link for geocities isnt working for me. Maybe its just my computer.
  10. Hey thanks... great photos for sure.
  11. Chriss, could you email me a pic of your blaster with the TriBrid barrel setup? thanks
  12. after looking at the photos T.T. posted of the World match. I saw Jerry is using the 2nd generation Holosight. But how is it mounted? Patrick Sweeny, could you eleborate on this? thanks
  13. the gun that Ron has looks alot like what Dawson is selling right now.
  14. you know after thinking about it Patrick really answered it for me. I get a 3 port comp with a cone so that I can shot a 135 -140 pf. And deal with it when shooting SC. thanks guys
  15. thanks guys. It would be on a single stack frame with a 5' slide. Maybe cut back a 1/4". the comp Iam still not sure I was thinking with b. bushing but a cone system is easiest. any thoughts
  16. Flex thanks for the reply. I was thinking a gun for the Steel C. and for knocking down plates for steel matches. Since I really cant have two different guns. I was thinking about using a titumin comp. But not sure yet. Any thoughts, Flex? So what your saying is use a slow burning powder. Which one? Sorry Iam so new to all of this. thanks
  17. what would you use for a steel load in a comp 9mm? what powder? Is there a big difference between slow and fast burning powder? thanks

    Scope Mounts

if find a scope doctor mount I would like to get one also but Iam afraid those are very hard to get. And also impossible to find.
  19. TGO likes it because of the timming and of course the radius. The two calibers are very different when it comes to recoil and timming. And a LS even more visiual. But lets not forget about the "burner" he got second and according to the article he lost because fo little mistakes. Any gun combo will do. The the 40 has going for me is the "cheap brass" try stocking up on 45 brass. I rather shoot a 45 but the 40 is no sloth either! thanks
  20. does anyone know if I can buy a M1A receiver only with bolt in Calif.? Does the same rule apply to rifles as it does to handguns? Monday Iam going to call DOJ. Just thinking it might be easier to built one up than to pay 1200 or more for a Calif. legal one that your going to trick out! thanks
  21. when building a steelgun would it be wise to take metal off of the barrel? Could the gun work well with on the front lug removed from the barrel? thanks
  22. I think theyre fine but shooters dont trim their springs when using them thus the spring collapse upon itself.
  23. How would a 9mm Comm. slide work for a steel gun? any thoughts I can go with either a full length or the commander slide. thanks

    mag springs

I bought new ISMI springs for my 140mm mags and this seems to do the trick but the mag with a Grams base pad for the 20 rds the spring when fully loaded with the 20 th rd get bounded up! Do I cut a coil or what? I tried it with one of the other springs that were cut to about 11 coils and it seems to work fine. Also the top portion of the mag where the funnel begins I noticed the front portion of the round where the bullet expands the case, getting alittle stuck there. I spread that area apart alittle. But do I cut a coil if I want 20 rds? thanks
