  1. I am looking to score one when the next shipment comes in to our Dealer here in Canada.. Late December..
  2. I have a friend who has the STS on his CZ 9 mm open gun (which he built himself).. and it has been running strong for a few months now.. Was thinking about the STS on a Tanfoglio Open gun... will have to keep an eye on that STS when i finally get the funds to get myself the Tanfoglio open gun. RDG
  3. I have used 147 gr Frontier RN bullets in my Tanfoglio Match 9 mm. They shoot very well for me.. I use VV N320 .... 3.2 grains with an OAL of 1.145 gives a PF of 132. Much less snappier than 124 grainers at the same PF. RDG
  4. HI there Demetrio All i can say is that i shoot Standard Division with a pair of LC IIs and love them. Accurate and durable.. although the LPA sites on the gun do break on occasion.. I think the durability is comparable to STI but i have never owned an STI Standard gun.. Dan
  5. Thanks JayTray... she sure is a beauty.. I hear that they stopped making them a while ago .. so when i saw this one being offered up i snapped it up.. It was barely even broken in... I must be part crow or magpie.. because i sure do like shiny guns Dan
  6. Thanks for that website.. wow some nice guns there.. impressive.. Dan
  7. I voted for the Hard chrome Spartan.. because i have a thing for shiny guns... but i actually have a Trojan in .45 and love it.. and its stainless. Here is a pic Dan
  8. Hi there.. I have shot lead bullets out of my Tanfoglio Limited Custom for two years and you do get some leading especially if you use a fast burning powder like VV N320... It also depends on the lead alloy that your bullets are made from.. I used to cast my own from reclaimed range lead and have recently switched completely to shooting plated due to a problem with my last batch of reclaimed lead being too soft and leading my barrel and affecting accuracy after only 100 rounds down the pipe. Wish i could get ahold of some of those Bayou bullets here in Canada.. would love to try them... One good way to get rid of minor leading is to use a 50:50 mixture of Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide. I plug the barrel (ear plug) and then pour it in and wait for 7 min and then use a brush after dumping and rinsing the barrel... Dont get the crap from the barrel on your hands as it contains lead acetate and is toxic... Dan
  9. Hi Mo.. No i have not seen Eric's website or the austrialians.. Is there a URL anywhere? Dan
  10. Thanks for all the tips guys.. I will just have to make due until something else becomes available. The first time my blade broke off i bought a piece of steel from Canadian Tire and then used files and a dremel to fashion a new one.. Took me two days but it worked until the new one came in.. Was during match season and i needed something quick.. Wishing i was a machinist as i would just build my own.. but im not.. I will try that green locktite trick.. Thanks again Dan
  11. Thats good news!.. These LPA sites have not inspired confidence due to the failure rate i have experienced. The only problem for me is that Henning does not ship to Canada anymore .. bummer.. oh well ... i guess i will have to pay somebody with an export permit to import some of them for me.... but that will likely double the cost for me.. oh well.. thats what we come to expect being Canadian... having to pay more for most of the stuff we purchase..
  12. I just looked at the Henning site and he lists the Stock LPA adjustable site that will fit my gun.. and fixed site the will fit the Stock and the Match but not the Limited. Any other options? Dan
  13. I have been shooting 147 lead cast RN for a while now out of my Tanfoglio Match in 9 mm . 3.1 g VVN320 OAL 1.136 also works well in my CZ 75B...
  14. Hi everyone.. Just want to find out if anyone here has used a different rear site for their Limited Custom. I have a pair of these guns and have had the rear site fail on me at least 4 times for both guns. Once it was in a match before i got my backup gun so i shot the last two stages without a rear site.. That worked out ok but not optimal. I was cleaning my guns the other day and noticed that the rear site on my Backup gun is now starting to crack. I have an extra LPA rear site i bought from the Tanfoglio dealer here in Canada but was wondering if anyone has used rear sites that last longer.. This is the 5th one i have had to replace. At 82 bucks a pop + shipping and Taxes.. would like something that lasts a bit longer. Each failure was the rear blade breaking off the site. The one i lost in the match the pin that holds the hinge in place fell out and i lost the bar all together. This last site the side of the tube that holds the rear blade in place is cracking and will no doubt fail if i keep it on the gun. I am shooting VV N320 loads with a PF of 174 or so. OAL 1.215 with a berrys plated bullet so its a very soft recoil plus i am using an 11 lb Wolff recoil spring so i dont think i am beating the crap out of the gun or rather the site. What options do i have? Do I have to keep putting those crappy LPA sites back on the gun after each failure? or are there other options out there. Thanks a lot.. Dan
  15. I have switched from shooting 200 g Frontiers with vv N320 to 180 grain Berry's with 4.8 grains of VV N320 loaded out to 1.215... gives a power factor of 174 out of my Tanfoglio LC II... It seems that the 180s are softer shooting than the 200s for some strange reason even though i am using more powder. But i am liking the load. Dan
  16. Thats the holster i use for my Match... Works well.. Dan
  17. Nice. 75B stainless limited edition? Yes it is the limited edition... a bit more money but for some reason i just love stainless guns..
  18. Hmmm.. I think as long as you can get some of the threads covered with Loctite that should be enough to hold it in place... I would back it out ... degrease and then put on some Loctite and set in position... Removing the trigger is a bit more difficult but definately can be done relatively easily.. The difficulty is putting it back... If you drift the roll pin out be sure to over the trigger group inside the frame with a rag as the trigger return spring may try to escape. After your operation with your pre-travel screw you can more easily replace the trigger by using a slave pin. I use the red plastic straw from a WD40 can cut to width of the trigger. Insert the trigger spring and place the slave pin to hold the loaded spring in place. Push the trigger into position and then use a punch to slide the slave pin out and position the trigger in place. Finally tap in the roll pin to force out the punch.. Done !!!.. While you have the trigger out i would take the time to polish the outside of the trigger bar and the top of the trigger plunger to give you a smoother and bit lighter trigger pull... Good luck with it.. Dan
  19. Here is a pic of my CZ75 B. Have not shot it much yet.. but plan on giving it a work out next year..
  20. I have also used 147 grain Frontier bullets with VV N320... an excellent combination in my Tanfoglio Match.
  21. Hi there Dukeguy... I have a Tanfoglio Match in 9mm. I think its the same gun.. and you dont have to remove the trigger to get the pre-travel screw out. If you take the allen wrench you should be able to back it out of the trigger by unscrewing it and then remove it. You have to work with the gun field stripped and from the top of the trigger in the frame. I have done it numerous times. The pre-travel screw usually remains on the end of the allen wrench. Be sure to degrease the hole and the pre-travel screw and then apply Blue Loctite to the threads and reverse the operation. Should take you about 10 min tops.. Good Luck Dan
  22. I just wanted to say hello to everyone on this forum... i have been shooting IPSC and IDPA for about 3 years now and am interested in learning lots from all the knowledge on this forum.. Cheers Dan
