  1. I've had success with the VIbra Prime after doing most of the fixes in the post Edge40 linked. Feeds CCI and Remington primers without a hiccup. Winchester and S&B primers will occasionally get stuck as they seem to be a bit taller and less rounded. Holding the Vibra Prime at a slight angle helps the primers feed more reliably, too.

Over the course of a reloading session, I'll probably save 20-30 minutes using the Vibra Prime rather than using pick-up tubes even after dealing with the occasional jam.

Doing the "vibra dance" did not work for me, I have to much stock of WSR to change primer brand.
  2. I had good luck with BBI 125gr although the avg weight is 127 gr. No lead or polymer in the comp at 172 PF. Next , will try the 115gr (118gr avg) and report back. The fact that you need less powder to achieve the same velocity is attractive to me as I have a ton of N105 that I could never use with 115 gr because the case was full before getting to the desired PF.
My match load is MG 121gr behind 10.5gr of 3N38.

  3.

A 1911/2011 cone comp is designed to be used with a bushing barrel and a standard slide w/o the bushing.  A bull barrel comp fits right inside the standard slide w/o the bushing.

The other difference between the two setups is that bull barrels usually extend 0.4" past the slide whereas the barrel only has to extend 0.1" past the slide as the threads are inside the cone.  A full sized bull barrel setup generally utilizes a 5" slide and a 5.4" barrel whereas a cone comp setup would likely be a 5" barrel with 0.1" cut off a 5" slide.

    Thanks, I think get it.

I am relatively new to open (2 years ) and I just have one open gun which I bought in this Forum (Akai Shogun).
