1. TPC 50/50 drill is good to practice for dealing with trigger freeze. Helps to get you out of being too tense and not getting finger all the way out for proper trigger reset.

Not familiar with it, please describe.

2. biggest cause of trigger freeze i have seen/experienced is TRYING to go fast, and make more than 1 trigger pull with a single sight picture.

worry about going fast in practice. get used to it. set up some hoser targets. for added skill development, set up 2-3 hoser targets and a mini popper at 20 yards and get used to switching visual gears.

Don't try to go fast in a match. Just be fast, and go that speed.

I was actually going at mi dot speed, but with the trigger freeze the array felt like an eternity... I was definitely not double tapping. Maybe trying to control recoil I am gripping to hard with my strong hand...

3. One of my latest shortcomings at USPSA is trigger freeze.

I am shooting a 9 Major open gun with a 1.6 lbs trigger pull.

During live practice I can pull .14 / .16 splits on close targets. But sometimes during matches, trigger freeze comes when shooting a close hoser target array.

How do I solve this? Bill drills? Is it me or the gun? Dry fire (please don’t be this) ?

I have seen stages like that before pcc was thought of. If you are saying that we can't have stages like that now, not true. Pcc shooters just have to suck it up like everyone else. I was at a match (before pcc) and we were handcuffed to a cable. Pcc would just have to get handcuffed too.

That is exactly what I am saying, try having those stages approved by NROI.

5. Hello: From the pics it looks like the RL1100 has the large bearing on the crank just like my RL1050 does. That will make it smoother than the Super 1050. That may also be why you can't load 30-06 on it like the old RL1050's. Good to see that they have gone back to the large bearing again. Thanks, Eric

I feel so “modern” with my RL1050...

6. OP, sorry this is off topic.  MBX guys.  If you are running the Gen2 followers you are going to have capacity problems.    I didn't buy my MBX mags from MBX so I evidently got mixed production.  The 155s are all gen 2.  The 170 came with the original G25 follower (gen 1).  I loaded the mags to set the springs.  I immediately got 29 in the 170 with no effort and a little room to spare.  I had to struggle to get 25 in the 155s.  On a lark, I took the G25 follower out of the 170 and put it into the 155.  26 instantly.  So I ordered a pair of G25s and replaced the gen 2 9 followers.  After two weeks I could force a 30th round into the 170, so 29 is easily reloadable.  The 155s are 26 with 13 coil and easily reloadable.  I originally cut one coil off the 13 coil in the 155s.  Later on I'll condition them and see if I pick up another round.

I use two STI gen 2 mags for classifiers with a mandatory reload, or when I have to drop a mag in water, mud or dust.

That’s it, I got 29 rounds reloadable on my MBX with the old style follower.
Thanks.

7. Same results for me with SV tubes:  29 works great, 30 goes below the rib on the magazine body.

Mbx rib runs runs all the way to the bottom.  What is preventing 30 in a mbx?

29 rounds are very tight in my MBX big stick...I would not call it reloadable.

8. I never understood the reason for this competition to jam in as many rounds as possible.  Pretty much every stage will have a convenient reload point.  I usually load one less round, to get an extra margin of feeding reliability.  So my new SVI tubes usually get 28 rounds of 9mm, with some nice give.

Unloaded start with very little movement, 26 rounds would you rather start with 28 or 29?

9. Don't try to use STI feed lip specs on a SV mag. If you look at the mags you will see the SVI lips have a different shape. The old style SV mags are tough as nails and the feed lips don't bend often. I like Grams springs and followers. The .38 Super follower works for 9mm also. Dawson or TTI base pads. Others will also work but use a mag gauge as the wrong base oad can put you over.

What are the SV magazines lips specs?

10. dvc4you I sure was thinking about a bigger capacity mag on that 26 round unloaded start stage last Saturday. With only 28 in the mag and long shots I wasn’t sure what would happen. No make ups made everything ok and there was opportunity for a reload in there but was still thinking about it as Aric had an extra round to play with.

I think he had an extra round because he was running 38SC, thus my question regarding 9mm

11. Short inquiry:

How many rounds of 9mm can you get in an SVI big stick reloadable? Using which internals and basepads? SVI Signature or old style magazine? What lip dimensions? I have been told .345 in back and .355 in the front.

12. I must admit, the ONLY thing I really detest about the new rulebook is how you can't do a good, simple search for a rule using the app.   Seriously, you can't search for "10.5" in the app.  It won't take it.  Wasn't the POINT of the app to be able to do this easily?!

Sheesh.

(As others have also said, download the rules as a PDF, and use the free Adobe reader for it---you can do USEFUL searches that way.)

Downloaded the Adobe Acrobat reader in my phone and the pdf file from USPSA website, this works much better. Thanks for the tip.

Now, if I could only read Chapter 9....[emoji3061]

13. I downloaded the pdf from the USPSA website into my IPhone iBooks, it looks very small and unreadable (I have a big IPhone 8 Plus) , I have to manually zoom every page to be able to read it, so unworkable...

Anyone has a solution?

PS: I don’t see an option to download the rules in the USPSA App, that is why I did it from the website. The app has a horrible search function, try searching “10.4” and comes back with “character not accepted “, also you can’t skip pages, I you are looking for a penalty in Chapter 10, you have to browse from page 1 al the way to Chapter 10. This has to be improved....
