How about heat? Can use a torch and melt the lead....
Is the compensator performance a affected by lead on the bottom of the compensator or just the baffles? -
So what is the verdict with WSR primers? I am ready to pull the trigger on a RF-100 but spending $ 350 and then hours of de-bugging doesn't make sense to me.

What tools do you guys use to clean a compensator ? Don't want to go the chemical route, leading is minor and sporadic.
Thanks

Hi,
I have a Colt series 80 in 38 Super and would like to re barrel it to 9 mm.
I see in Brownells barrels from Ed Brown, Kart and Briley. Since this pistol is for plinking which one would you choose ? Easy of fitting is a plus as I intend to do this myself to save money but mostly as a teaching exercise.
Can you recommended any online instructions ?
Thanks -
Thanks for the advice, I ordered the Phoenix Trinity

I am gripping hard with my strong hand and slowing the slide with mi thumb. I have an AKai Shogun model (my avatar), running an 8 lbs recoil spring.
Which shielded ambi safety do you recommend? Swenson? PT? Double Tap?
I will be fitting it myself, done it before...but I am no gunsmith...

Super or super comp?
Supercomp, but it doesn't matter if it is super or supercomp, the difference is just the rim. -
I have alway loaded 1.235 Montana gold JHP 124gr, 121gr or 115 gr.
-
Not bad but, now that I shoot open I want to keep everything consistent with 9 mm

Is it possible to change the caliber of a CZ Rami by changing the barrel and magazines or is the the whole top end that has to be changed?
-
Mine: RL 1050 in 38SC and Super 1050 in 308
-
Would the trigger with a pre travel screw work in a CZ Rami?

Cleaning : acetone
Lube: Mobil one
Cleaning barrel: only with bullets unless you are shooting lead.
That is it. I have no use for grease .

18 yards, 124gr at 1380 fps stays pretty much flat to 100 yds, check any bullet drop app and choose according to your load.
-
Bell just enough to don't drop the bullet while the shell plate rotates, crimp just to straighten the case. Neck tension is what holds the bullet after it is seated, last 1/3 of the case.
You can see a slight shoulder were the bullet is seated.
-
I use Mr. Bullet Feeder , you need more neck tension ...

I run a Dillon sizing die in station 1 and a EGW undersize die on station 2 (load on a 1050). Never had a problem with OAL changing.
-
Akai Shogun, 4 popple holes, new compensator style, uses a lot of gas very loud.
OAL 1.235
WSR primers
MG 124gr JHP
3N38 10.5gr. PF = 173
N105. 11.3gr. PF. = 173
I prefer 3N38

powder. without the advancement, we would not be shooting major 9.
I saw guys shooting 9 major in IPSC in Argentina in 1997. Using Win 540. Old power factor of 175, probably shooting at 185.

I you don't want to use carburetor cleaner, try acetone, it is safe on polimer and can buy it at Home Depot. Evaporates quickly leaving a dry residue that can be brushed off.

What I dislike about IDPA is that is run by a family and not the members, I have always disliked taxation without representation.
The origins of this game can be found when high capacity 1911 became available for USPSA and said family did not have such product available, let's create another game were my products are still competitive...
This just mi opinion

Nope. I was struggling with seeing irons clearly and it was either buy prescription shooting glasses or an open gun. I made the rational choice and bought the gun![/quote
